The layoff news seems to be spreading rapidly now, it'd be great if we could all spam the All Hands meeting chat asking about the layoffs in the news opposed to asking about coffee.

RM&C Ask Me Anything
Let’s light JR up on this call today. Doubt we get truthful answers, but would be fun to watch her squirm.
CHC
Any CHC people still here or has all been laid off?
VSP Date Discussion
My VSP was accepted with a separation date of 12/11/2026. While that does give me more time to look for other employment, I feel it also gives my PL time to find a reason to fire me. Seems like the ones who got the 9/4 would have been laid off involuntary anyways and those of us with a further date may have been safe, but now we run the risk of retaliation because management knows when we are leaving.
Will RTO happen again?
I’m not within the merch org that was called for RTO back in April but wondering if there’s another planned RTO for all remaining remote workers at some point. Has anyone heard anything?

Why no mass layoffs yet ?
Is it so bad to be sold?
What happened to the other BU's that were sold off? Did all employees get laid off?
To be sold off seems like a good thing at this point, or is that just wishful thinking?
What did Sk--k say about bonuses.
I skipped the last blow hard circlej--kAnyone care to give a short autopsy?
Next major layoff based on who uses AI?
Just a thought… but Dan made a specific comment about 88% of the company is “using” AI, and we should encourage the other 12% blah blah…..
Anyone else thinking that metric will be used against us for the next round of layoffs? Checking to see how much we use AI?
Is IBM Expert labs organization dying?
A lot of struggle these days in the IBM Expert Labs organization. Work is less and less every year, it does not seem like they will survive another year.
Comments?
RT0
Is anyone hearing anything about another attempt to return to office soon.
Finally, Dan addresses that satellites CANNOT overtake the ground based network, and even mentioned Physics!
Of course, there will still be the Starlink stock pumpers on here who think we are all flat earthers.
Looks like someone coached Dan about how Starlink CANNOT take away from the terrestrial networks in a very substantial way. Physics!
Per Dan, in the article:
In terms of broadband competition from satellite providers, “it is very difficult for satellite providers to provide a service that's even close to what we can provide with our broadband services,” he said.
He walked through the basics of satellite beams and what they can offer by way of speeds versus ground-based systems.
“We’re like 100 times to 1,000 times more efficient,” he said. “Our speeds and capabilities are much higher, and it’s basically not possible because of physics. Not because of execution, but because of physics.”
The majority of Verizon’s service revenue is in urban and suburban geographies. He acknowledged that satellite does have a total addressable market (TAM) that’s probably between 6 million and 8 million homes in the U.S., primarily in very rural geographies where building out a terrestrial network is cost prohibitive.
“It doesn’t pencil out,” he said.

Data centers/fiber/AI Connect
Can anyone in the know (VBG I guess?) comment on what Dan said about data centers and selling fiber today? Is this a viable business?
Nike quietly abandoned DEI
Anyone else notice it’s no longer ever mentioned?
Dan
How many times will I need to hear his sp-t?
Polaris Stabbing?
What happened at Polaris? Was it an employee attacking another employee or did some rando walk in off the street?
HouseCalls Question
Question for HouseCalls APCs — how’s everyone’s schedule looking for August and September? Curious if others are noticing a pattern of unusually few visits scheduled starting mid-August onward.

Stay strong!
Is there a safe space from the AI slop at Ford?
Every day it's the same slop. "We have to use AI in everything we do". Write code? Get AI to do it! Review the code? AI! Write an email or post a message in Teams? Better use AI for it (the ems and the emoji use always give it away; "it's not just x - it's y")! Every post, every message, AI slop images, AI slop text, literally inescapable. I feel like the cult mentality around it is just eating away at people's brains, it's a twilight zone episode. I get we have to copy what every software company does, but isn't there someone near the top seeing the massive bubble about to burst, the cost of token consumption, and the general brain drain that comes from offloading every single task to an agent or a chat bot?
Checking In
Checking in to see where everyone is at on the mood elevator? Remember those days?
So, what do those Texans think of your OU and OSU degrees?
Keep spending money (It’s someone else’s laws).
Reorg
Is there any ongoing reorg in upstream?
Only 55% implemented?
Anyone know what that seems to imply? Europe cannot account for 45%??

SETH
Are we submitting questions or assuming that even with the format pivot we aren’t going to get real, honest answers to questions.
Personally, I hope people submit their toughest questions and demand accountability from MKW. It’s been a sh*t couple of years and that’s largely on him and the rest of leadership.
Bets on July 31?
