Huron Consulting Group Concluding Soon

From the ITS newsletter: "The Future Platform Evaluation initiative, led in partnership with Huron Consulting Group, will conclude in early September with recommendations and a high-level roadmap for our future direction. This effort has been shaped through close collaboration between ITS leaders and partners from across SNHU and will provide an important foundation for future decision-making."

Anyone else worried that layoffs are coming?

Degradation of long term employment culture?

Title. I’d imagine folks here agree but want to get personal thoughts, observations or anecdotes. What is the future of this company for its employees? A more transactional model? Is this company that the older employees extol the same company that were living in now? Will the pension be around long term?

STCB News Please

I know there have already been quite a few posts about STCB, but still I wanted to ask again because I genuinely want to understand what the plan is going forward.

For me, the biggest confusion is whether it makes sense to start looking outside and jump to another company earlier than I had planned, or just stay with STCB, take it a little easy, and see how things settle down. With so much uncertainty, even a little clarity on the future would really help.

India layoff

Will Dan lay off the entire Indian workforce, despite its established presence in India since 2000? Many employees appear to have been quietly removed by senior directors and HR. This raises serious concerns about the future of the Indian workforce and the organization’s long-standing presence in the country.

You know what's becoming more and more obvious?

The execs would love to run this place with zero employees, they just can't yet. But that's their goal. Not even India is safe from this. I can't wait for the AI bubble to burst and with it their dreams of bringing the actual workforce to a bare minimum. And it's only a matter of time before it happens.

ISG future and upcoming WFR round.

Does anyone has any idea or any news regarding next round of WFR. When it will be and on which basis it will happen? Also, what is the future of ISG and it's product portfolio as based on current wave it doesn't seem there is any vision or strategy for product to release in next quarter.

Zaslav sold another $27.1 million in company stock

This should tell you everything you need to know about how much confidence he has in the company's future once the merger is completed. I'm still holding out hope that it might get blocked, but I know that's almost impossible. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I just don't see a way for this to turn out well, especially for employees.

Amityville site

I am considering a job opportunity at L3harris Amityville, NY. Does anyone know the future outlook of this site and how the work culture over there is? I am seeing there was a building that closed down there this year but what about rest of the buildings? Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Infra Pipes Halts Albuquerque Production

A Canadian pipe manufacturer is ceasing operations in Albuquerque. This decision will result in the layoff of 51 employees. The company cited a significant increase in the cost of a crucial raw material. This cost surge has rendered the New Mexico facility unprofitable. The company has indicated a potential future reopening of the site.

Which Customer Service Hubs Survive?

We've all seen admin locations that have a good number of customer service employees shut down in recent years. Sacramento, Jacksonville, Salem, the Barn, Billings, and probably a bunch of others I can't think of right now. Birmingham and SLC probably aren't going to last much longer either. A lot of these roles will be taken over by chatbots or outsource, but which domestic customer service hubs will still exist 5 years from now? Who has the insider info?

Truth coming out

I met with a high level and well connected employee recently to try get some answers about my ultimate potential. This person works with D&S for my job family in succession planning. I was very honest about how I don’t see a future with ExxonMobil. The person tried hard to basically convince me that the pension is worth sticking it out for since I have put in two decades with the company already and am in my forties. The person then went on to describe how in the not too distant future there won’t be any employees at EMHC left other than those who are still needed to mentor the BTC. The person made statements like you are old enough and close enough to retirement that you can make it. My takeaway was the future for old people is to train India to take all the jobs. The future for young people is to be fired. I suggest young people wise up and leave before you are fired and that old people decide if this is the future you want to be a part of. I do not.

Wondering about the future

I've been thinking about whether staying here long-term is even realistic anymore. Everywhere I look, people are just going through the motions until they find a way out. New people, old people, it doesn't really matter. The consensus seems to be that Schwab is in decline and nobody should be pinning their future on it. Maybe that's for the best.

ExxonMobil's India GCC leases 235,300 sq ft space in Bengaluru

https://www.business-standard.com/amp/companies/news/exxonmobil-s-india-gcc-leases-235-300-sq-ft-space-in-bengaluru-for-70-3-cr-126070801271_1.html

ExxonMobil is aggressively expanding BTC by leasing more office space for technology, engineering, digital, and strategic business functions. Everything is slowly moving to India.

You hear me
This may look vague right now, but if we don’t act, the company could fully shift major operations there and even redomicile in India within the next 25 years.
This is what the organization is doing to us. This is our future!!!!
