For those that worked in Technology Operations and were laid off, can you share where you landed if you were able to find something, or the industry you moved to? Feeling like my days are numbered, so keeping my eyes peeled for opportunities.

is there any particular company that anyone is aware of that typically hires a lot of FIS employees? Something similar to black knight for example.

I have no intention of waiting for the last moment and then competing with everyone else who’s been laid off for the few jobs that’ll be left. Yes, I won’t get severance if I leave on my own, but frankly, I’d rather have a job than some money and the uncertainty of finding something else.

What was the point of working hard, getting a good review, caring about your customers, and adding value, only to be let go while performing better than others?

Heard from multiple reliable sources who make the calls......This will be the biggest one the company has ever had.....it is confirmed. Nobody knows about "when". It will include everyone from every department, every project, no matter the seniority. Even VPs won't be spared. Junior or Senior, it doesn't matter. Could be as soon as mid September or it could be 2 months from now. Stop the work and start looking for a new job RIGHT NOW. Good luck everyone.

I handed in my resignation, and I can’t stop wishing I had done it differently. I wanted to get out as fast as possible, but I didn’t do my due diligence, and now I’m in a far-from-ideal position. Looking back, I think I would have waited for a better offer or prepared more carefully before making the leap. It’s a tough lesson learned the hard way.

I don’t even know how many applications I’ve sent out so far, and all I’m getting is crickets.

I’m investing in my own skills because clearly no one else is going to. I feel like this place is intentionally pigeonholing us into positions so we don’t have too many options to leave unless they’re the ones to kick us out. Anyhow, if there ever was a time to start expanding your skills people, it’s now.

The job market isn’t as bad as everyone’s been saying. Or maybe it was and it scared people off from applying, and now there are plenty of opportunities again. I don’t know for sure. What I do know is that I had several interviews lined up right away, and within a month I got a good offer. The pay’s about the same, but I get better benefits and, more importantly, the culture seems so much better than Humana. Go and apply, folks. You’ve got nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

We have had cuts after cuts after cuts in the last few years. Nobody can convince me any of it is necessary. It's all about greed and we're the ones paying the price. I'm already looking for another job at a company that has actual job security - something we used to have once upon a time.

I mean, after the voluntary exits are counted. I’m honestly worried about the possibility of losing my job. I’ve been casually looking at what’s out there, but the market keeps looking tougher and tougher. Finding something new, or even managing the gap between jobs, feels almost impossible right now. I’m anxious that a lot of us could still end up on the chopping block.

Remember to refresh your resume, plan updating your skills (there are many trainings online), do not ignore mental issue signs (burnout is a really a huge problem). I keep my fingers and thumbs.

Pass the screen, go for the round of interviews, how long before you hear something? Same Day? Couple days? Week? Do rejections come immediately while silence means a possible offer? Or is it the opposite, if they are interested you get an offer right away, and silence just means they aren't interested? What's the norm these days on the interview circuit?

I started one on my phone to motivate me to find a new job. No leads yet though. I cannot go a month without a job financially.

I just got a rejection after what felt like weeks of interviews. I have to admit, it’s crushing my confidence when I keep getting so close and then I end up falling short. It makes me question if I’m even doing something wrong or if it’s just the market being brutal.

After months and months of applying. That's the only thing making Monday and the rest of the week feel bearable. I've been so unhappy here that I've even considered quitting without something else lined up. Now I'm putting all my hopes into landing one of these two jobs. I'm even willing to take lower pay just to get out of here.

I found outlast week (5 years after outsource), that our outsource was planned for 6 months prior to our layoffs. I was a field Tech in the stores. All of the area Managers knew. They thought they were keeping their jobs! ( Big surprise, they were all let go). Several Analysts in the field knew, they were showing NCR around the stores, after hours when we were off.

The reason for this post, warning to the stores. Planned layoffs are being cemented now before Q3. Watch your back. Not that you can stop the process.....be prepared. Get your resume dusted off and updated. Pull any docs you need off of your personal drive now. Do not trust your supervisor to tell you the truth if you question your job security with the company. Trust noone! Good luck!

Where did the people go that left adidas as part of the 500 job cuts ? ON? NEW Balance ?

There’s absolutely nothing. I don’t know if it’s just bad luck or if the market is really this broken. If anyone has even the smallest positive story, please share. I need to hear that someone out there actually managed to land a decent job, or at least got an offer. I haven’t had a single callback. It’s infuriating and demoralizing. And now with layoffs hanging over us, I don’t even know how we’re supposed to keep it together.

It really doesn’t matter if you think you’re safe from layoffs or not, because the job market right now is the worst it has been in years. Employers seem to be taking revenge for the Great Resignation, and that means not only is it tough to find a new role, it’s even harder to find one that will pay anywhere close to what you are used to. You honestly have nothing to lose by starting to look now. The worst that can happen is you do not get laid off and end up landing another offer, which is a much better outcome than being suddenly laid off with no prospects lined up, believe me.

I've been applying like crazy and I thought I had a job locked down after signing the offer, but the company just went silent during the background check. No updates, no responses, nothing. Now I'm left completely confused and stressed and feeling like I'm stuck here once again. Why would they ghost candidates like that?

Really feeling down about not getting any offers for months now since Dell laid me off, severance and unemployment running low. I’d love to hear some success stories from anyone laid off this year that got new roles they’re happy with.

Keep an eye on the waning demand for Labor generally and be prepared eg with resumes and maybe even retraining.

It’s only the third day of a much-feared month of September and sobering US economic news is already piling up.

Yesterday it was six straight months of shrinking manufacturing. Today it’s job openings falling in July to the lowest in 10 months, adding to other employment data (including a report last month that caused Donald Trump to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics) showing America’s once-robust post-pandemic jobs landscape continues to darken.

Even worse, the sectors most responsible for the new numbers aren’t cyclical and had been recent drivers of growth. Available positions decreased to 7.18 million from a downwardly revised 7.36 million in June, according to data published Wednesday by the BLS, a division of the US Department of Labor. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for 7.38 million openings.

I got effected yesterday and planning to apply for Oracle open positions along with outside jobs.
