The rumors about major cuts this month feel more substantial than the usual gossip. I'm getting genuinely concerned that we're walking into a disaster in the coming weeks.

We all know layoffs are coming at some point. Does anyone have an educated guess on the start date? Next week? Next month? Even later?

How are they notifying people? Is it an Outlook calendar invite? Who is doing the axing? What do they say during the call or the meeting?

For those who got the layoff news: how did it come? Was it a sudden calendar invite for a one-on-one, or an email, or something else?

Trying to know what to watch for.

First off, I didn’t see any new Cigna Warn notices (in NJ) but I realized looking at the 2025 Warn notice that some companies that gave notice in 2025 that have multiple layoff dates in 2025 and 2026 are not on the 2026 notice. Something to consider when searching company Warn notices you may have to look back on the 2025 if there are multiple dates.

Does anyone know when to expect it?

It's so tiring to be focused on the possibility of losing your job 24/7. I'm always saving money to the point I can't enjoy my hobbies anymore. I don't know the last time I bought a book or a game because I can't justify the expense even if I can afford it because I could potentially be laid off any day now. This is a very sad way to live and nobody responsible for it seems to care.

If so, when would be the expect time line?

We can assume some of the layoff rumors are true. But it would be a huge relief just to know the timeline. Stressing constantly, expecting every week to be the week, is too much. If the job market were better right now, fewer of us would be worried out of our minds. But as things stand, losing this job could quickly become a personal catastrophe.
