Will Certified Centers/Refurb facilities for PepsiCo switch to 3pl?

Will Certified Centers/Refurb for PepsiCo switch to 3pl like a lot of other warehouses in the US? All refurb operations in Turkey were taken over by a 3pl based out of France and will be responsible for 20k coolers annually. Just wondering if Certified Centers will fall into the 3pl run side of things. Lots of weird movements at our certified center since the Elliot Investments.

Layoffs during paternity leave

Hello, I'm currently on parental leave and will be returning to office in SLC (operations role) on August 3rd. It sounds like there are layoffs set to occur the day I return. Now, this isn't something I would normally even consider - but my grandmother did in fact pass away while on leave, so I could technically apply for bereavement leave for the day of layoffs (yes I know this won't save me forever, but hey, why not get an extra two weeks of pay).

  1. I don't know for sure if I will be one of the ones cut on August 4th, but I know I have ~1 year at most due to the location strategy.

  2. Yes, I can in fact provide proof of my grandmother's passing as I am a direct inheritor of her (very small) estate.

Just curious to see what everyone thinks about this idea.

Latest update

It sounds like everything is out now.

We sold a significant amount of doors to the agents... The good news is, those employees will have a job. I’m told we’re keeping a thousand corporate doors and that my team and I are safe for at least 3 years, do we trust that? Looks like operations took a significant hit, who is going to do that work?

Overall, I feel lucky, but feel awful for anyone who is impacted.

Notions Marketing Halts Operations After Fire

A significant fire at its Grand Rapids warehouse has forced Notions Marketing to cancel all orders and lay off approximately 200 employees. The accidental blaze, believed to be caused by an internal electrical failure following a power surge, has rendered the main facility unusable. Operations were crippled, with significant inventory also contaminated by smoke. The company stated there is no clear timeline for resuming safe operations at the damaged site. This permanent mass layoff affects a substantial portion of their workforce.

ExxonMobil is aggressively expanding BTC by leasing more office space for technology, engineering, digital, and strategic business functions. Everything is slowly moving to India.

You hear me
This may look vague right now, but if we don’t act, the company could fully shift major operations there and even redomicile in India within the next 25 years.
This is what the organization is doing to us. This is our future!!!!

Verizon's Rank - WSJ - The 2026 Best Companies - For the Future

The Wall Street Journal evaluates how leading US corps stack up in 6 areas: AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility.

Verizon ranks #149 overall with an Overall Score of 54.5, which places it above the median but not in the leadership tier. Its strongest dimensions are AI Rank #26 and Resilience Rank #48, a combination that says the company is being credited for technology readiness and durability. In the telecom group, Verizon sits 2nd out of 3 listed companies, behind T-Mobile but well ahead of AT&T.

The problem is operating speed. Verizon’s Agility Rank is #447, one of the weakest in the dataset, and Innovation is only #250. The strategic read is that Verizon screens as a resilient, AI-aware incumbent, but not as a company that is structurally fast-moving. That matters because telecom is moving toward network automation, edge compute, enterprise connectivity, and AI-enabled service models, where organizational velocity will increasingly separate winners from regulated-utility-like carriers.

Rock the BOET?

Any insight on what's cooking?

Pretty clear that there is no need for Project Managers anymore, and that they are rapidly phased out, together with the Portfolio Manager level of directors.

Feels like the operations side will be on the front burner, with focus on finding areas that can be made more efficient (i.e., layoffs).
