Anyone attended a town hall meeting this morning? During their laughable TED talk, it was brought up that India has the largest headcount of State Street employees at 19,000. Let that sink in. At this rate, the only people will have jobs in the US are the SVPs and their Indian H1B1 workers.

There is something definitely going on with the requirement process where Indians are getting preferential treatment over other ethnicities and locations. Right now, all recruiters are based in India and it seems they are mainly focusing on candidates that are from India. I noticed even for local job reqs, Indians living in the US are being selected over other candidates for jobs and promotions. Its fine if someone is more equalified should get the role or promotion, but most of time I find out these Indian workers were just good at lying on their resumes and interviews and we have to pick up their responsibilities.

Legends Hospitality LLC filed a layoff notice for View Boston. View Boston's restaurants will close on April 21, 2026. This action affects at least 41 employees. The workforce reduction takes effect April 22, 2026. The company plans to expand event space and new offerings.

To the HR and/or legal representatives assigned to monitor this thread...maybe float the idea of an early retirement package option. For example, offer 5 years of age and tenure in exchange for early retirement. I wager you'd get a few takers and thus reduce the burden of another involuntary force reduction.

My department, PLM, announced voluntary layoffs are coming. Sounded like it might be in waves but not 100% sure. They said other areas across the enterprise will be doing the same as well. Anyone else hear anything?

There are no roles that can’t be back filled so why not take volunteers to assist in the mission of reducing workforce. Many would take it and be gone already.

Rogers is laying off nearly 100 internal IT support staff. This work will be redirected to an unnamed third-party vendor. The vendor reportedly plans to rehire most of the affected employees. The cuts impacted technical roles across Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. These layoffs follow previous job reductions by Rogers and other telecom providers.

Team I'm on is mandating AT LEAST 50 PERCENT OF ALL NEW CODE be generated using copilot. No longer "use copilot to work faster" but now "replace your development skills with copilot". I do not doubt, FIS will be rolling this out to ALL of development over time

If there were any doubts that FIS was taking the path of using AI to reduce workforce, well. That seems to be EXACTLY where were headed
