FTEs got laid off, contractors stayed on AND many got their contract renewed till 2027/12, right before the layoff! Contractors cost WAY MORE than FTEs, the math just doesn't add up!!!!

They come from every organization, bringing a wide range of expertise and experience. Together, they could potentially form a new team or company capable of competing for—and even taking—contracts currently held by Hughes.

Which departments are impacted in this round of layoffs? Are there more layoffs on horizon for Echostar employees?

I'm petrified this will be used as a reason to rob people of their safety nets in any of the future rounds, and we all know more rounds are coming.

I've watched this industry chew people up for 15 years. There's a better world out there.

I interned here, loved it, and turned down other jobs to come back. Four months later, I'm out with no warning and no explanation. Why hire people if you plan on getting rid of them within months?

people at the very top have decided that Hughes will lose a ton of employees. Every team will be affected ~66% reduction all around. It is speculated to happen on 1st Oct but could be anywhere between then and 15th Oct.
