Just got word from union rep appears they are offering a 10k buyout shortly to entice employees to quit instead of collecting whatever garbage unemployment is available. Sounds like another big wave of layoffs is in the future until the shareholders are satisfied. I encourage everyone to start looking for other employment while you can

I’ve seen some comments about older Associates being offered a buyout package. Is that really a thing? I’m 61 and wondering if they might approach me as I don’t think another VBO is in the picture.

3/24/26 Teamsters announced buyouts were withdrawn by company for 13 Central States. No surprise. All negotiations should go thru the Union first. But the big question is will investors feel they were duped by stepping on a known banana peel and ask for their money back?

Many past companies have given the appearance of buyouts during low revenue quarters to garner more income or investments. But it is not possible a Corp. just did not fully read the Union contract they signed so they had to withdraw buyout offers. Fishy....

Does anyone remember the timing for last year’s buyout offer? I finally hit the 'magic number' and hoping for a repeat of last year’s offer.

Predictions for the next few months:

Outsourcing hr and legal where possible/cheaper

More use of ai to fill functions

Finally none of this will be swift or strategic. Just a long toilet bowl swirl to where it needs to get to.

Is it common to have to re-interview for your current position if there is a buyout? If it's a bigger company like Amazon that acquire, can I ask for a raise right away? I figure they might be afraid of a mass Exodus and would like to pay extra to keep experienced workers?

Verizon would be run by contractors if they did this.

Is there any truth to the rumors of “voluntary” layoffs? With the recent decimation of market cap, that would be no surprise.

P66 has been touting their new gas plant prospects, but their new Iron Mesa gas plant is mostly replacing volumes from DCP's disastrous James Lake gas plant purchase and shifting volumes from DCP's awful Goldsmith gas plant. Imagine spending the money on a new plant to replace James lake that DCP purchased just before the P66 buyout. DCP spent money stupidly across the board. They invested so much growth money in the DJ basin and ignored the looming environmental regulations. They did nothing for compliance leading up to the P66 purchase. Now all of the short sighted DCP leadership is running P66 midstream. They are all touting midstream growth and leveraging G&P but the real stable money comes from historic pipeline and terminal. How can G&P add to the baseline we want when all of our competitors have over capacity everywhere we operate? What if this money was invested into growing the central refining efficiencies?

So we in the CWA are hearing on the 17th there is going to be the possibility of a buyout. Heard originally BST. Now hearing CST and BST.
