Wrong title

I took a CST job years ago, but the company never changed my job title. The CSTs in my office are being offered a package. Is the union able to get a package for someone who was not offered the package, because the company didn’t change their title? Has anyone heard of this happening before? I am waiting for a call back from my local.

Xbox Layoffs Spark Union Contract Push

Austin-based game developers are actively pursuing a union contract following recent layoffs at Microsoft's Xbox division. Workers at Bethesda Game Studios, now part of Microsoft, unionized earlier this year due to concerns about company changes and potential job cuts. The recent workforce reduction, impacting 1,600 employees immediately, has intensified negotiations between the Communications Workers of America and Microsoft. Union representatives allege unfair labor practices and "bad faith bargaining" by the company. The union's priorities include worker safety, job security, and safeguards against AI replacing human roles.

Deere Workers Consider Contract Extension

United Auto Workers members at John Deere will vote on a proposed two-year contract extension this Sunday. The agreement aims to provide stability for both the company and its employees. Details of the proposed contract have not been fully disclosed. Union leadership is expected to present the terms to the membership. The outcome of the vote will determine the future labor relations at Deere.

Total Compensation

Can you please share how much Technical Leaders (Grade 11 or Grade 12) earn in RTP? Salary range in NC seems to be: $187000.00 - $274,100.00

My brother earns $195K Base, 13% Annual Cash bonus, 6% 401K Match and no RSUs in his current job. What would be a strong offer to negotiate along with relocation?

Is PIL agreement negotiable?

I was reading the agreement and it basically says you are waiving any rights to sue the company. And if you find another job they will stop the PIP.

Has anybody been able to negotiate different terms for this agreement?

After working for 30+ years, all you get is 3 months of salary at the cost of waiving broad rights? Ultrageous! This company should pay packages as every other company that does layoffs!

Zillow Resolves Data Dispute with MLS

Zillow has reached a new data licensing agreement with Realtracs, an MLS serving agents in six southeastern states. This deal addresses concerns regarding Zillow's use of broker-created data in AI models and market analytics. The agreement includes specific provisions for flagging when an agent triggers listing suppression thresholds. Realtracs had previously identified Zillow as a non-compliant vendor, leading to extended negotiations. This resolution marks an end to a period of stand-off over access to listing data.

lawyer to negotiate severance package

anyone have experience working with an attorney to negotiate your severance package? trying to see if this is worth my while. also leadership is threatening not to allow me to use my vacation time during the last two weeks, even though the language in the severance paperwork is vague and says vacation/sick cannot "typically" be used during your last 2 wks..work with your PL if "unique" situation. Thanks all. I am so ready to be done with this mindf*ck of a place.

This is not a negotiation

The most salient line from the layoff call: "This is not a negotiation." Fine. Embrace it. Give them the one-finger salute back.

I doubt you'll hear that line again tomorrow, though. Even the ELT already knows they've gone too far. Layoffs will have to wait a bit.

Canadian severance

If you were laid off from Oracle in Ontario during the recent rounds: does anyone have recommendations for a good employment lawyer?

I’ve heard former colleagues are getting lowballed on their packages, so I want to get a professional review before signing anything.

Oracle is brutal -> I know a IC who just got laid off from Dell with 20+ years was offered 55 weeks and is still negotiating more with a lawyer, so I suspect there's room to push back.

Stern Show Staffers Seek Better Severance

Former employees of The Howard Stern Show are negotiating for improved severance packages following recent layoffs. Many found the initial offer of one week's pay per year of service to be insufficient. Some staff members have refused to sign non-disclosure agreements as they push for more favorable exit terms. While some have reached satisfactory agreements, others are still in discussions with SiriusXM. The layoffs follow a reduction in the show's live broadcast schedule.

Negotiate VSP exit date

I'm a director who got approved with an exit date of December 2026. However, I was expecting to leave 9/4/26. We have a State audit in November so I understand why they extended my date. Any director or VP level tried or going to ask for an earlier exit date ? I am actively interviewing for my next role so I would love to accept the new role and get my severance. With all the company layoffs it's going to be harder to find a new role in December.

Can we negotiate or withdraw

Has anyone been able to negotiate their separation date or withdraw their VSP? Mine is for May 2027 and at this point I rather withdraw the VSP if possible because this is laughable. My PL informed me I could withdraw last week and I declined as I didnt know the sepeartion date would be so far out

Deal did not go through

As per some speculations, FIS was bought out private equity firm. But deal did not go through as the current executive team asked for 500 million bonus payoff.
The board and buyer was willing to pay 200 million. Each Leadership team member would have received 10 to 25 million bonus, but they were adamant for at least 25 - 50 million each.

Finally the buyer took the deal off the table.

Severance Negotiation During Recent Industry Layoffs

With the recent layoffs and RIFs across WPP, Publicis, Omnicom, and the broader industry, I know many people are navigating a difficult and deeply personal moment.

For those who are comfortable sharing, were you able to negotiate any part of your severance package? I am particularly interested in whether companies showed flexibility around severance duration, benefits coverage, bonus or commission payments, equity, or the timing and terms of separation agreements.

No need to share anything confidential or identify yourself publicly. My hope is simply to help people better understand what may be negotiable and advocate for themselves during an already challenging time.

DO NOT RESIGN!!! MILK IT AND MAKE THEM FIRE YOU!

The week of July 6th there were a few resignations. Do not resign!

If you have not secured new employment and you are sick and tired of tedious daily activities like Salesforce. DO NOT MAKE IT EASY ON THEM... DO NOT RESIGN! Everyone's situation is a little different BUT USE CHAPTGPT ask how to negotiate a Severance and put in your exact situation and it will guide. you.

I know you are tired, overworked, feeling defeated, but that is part of their plan. Just MILK IT. If you need to enter Tasks, just make it up on the spot. If you have to enter a LOG a CALL in SF just interview CHATGPT. Say ChatGPT you are an Instructor teaching Biology what are your 3 biggest challenges? what are 3 things you wish Technology could do for you in the classroom,,,,,, and enter what it tells you. This will buy you some time and also keep the checks rolling in while you try to get Severance If they don't give you severance, Each check you receive by faking it, is basically Severance since you were about to throw in the towel and quit anyways. Good Luck!!

Dhyvia's separation arrangement is unheard of...

For a section 16 officer to be able to negotiate an "out clause" based on the CEO's employment status is totally unheard of. Fiserv Director's will receive several "no votes" on say on pay at proxy time. The Fiserv lawyer and the CHRO who agreed to this must be also be on eggshells.

PSU May Reverse Some Faculty Layoffs

Portland State University is reconsidering some layoff notices issued to 52 faculty members. These notices were initially sent to address a $35 million structural budget deficit. The university is currently in negotiations with its faculty union to find alternative solutions. PSU aims to minimize involuntary job losses while still managing its financial challenges. The final plan for retrenchment has been delayed to explore these possibilities further.

Do displaced employees have any negotiating power???

I understand we get out 60-days of pay for the non-working period, our accrued PTO (up to the layoff date and not including comm service time, personal holidays or floating holidays) and we get severance. However, has anyone in the US had any success getting anything else? Like paid for all your pto earned or unearned, extra benefits or perks???

Asante Nurses Union Talks Lack Trust

Oregon's registered nurses receive the nation's top hourly pay when adjusted for living costs. Asante and the Oregon Nurses Association are currently engaged in contract negotiations. Nurses express unease due to past economic uncertainties and recent layoffs. The union's bargaining chair states trust has significantly eroded with Asante's administration. This lack of trust complicates negotiations and problem-solving efforts.

Has anyone been hired internally and negotiated pay?

Has anyone applied internally, was hired, then you were able to negotiate pay? I’m hearing there is a max of 8-10% from your current pay you can be increased. Is this true? I am going to apply for a position and have a great shot at it but need to be able to negotiate pay for this role.

Severance Negotiation - Anyone use a lawyer?

Thinking about retaining an employment attorney to look over my layoff paperwork and see if there is any room to negotiate a better severance package.

If you've used a lawyer for this, how did it go? Did the company offer more, or did you end up paying legal fees out of pocket for no change? Any advice or experiences would be highly appreciated.
