With the need for LNG, what’s happening with Goldenpass? More f ups or Global projects blaming the contractor.

Maverick is not going well
the Maverick project testing is going poorly. It will be either a rollout in May but is an awful tool or delayed again.JC needs to go.
Project Elevate
Thoughts on Project Elevate?
Awaiting updates regarding the cancellation of the CE1/Skunks works project.
After working on this project for two years, I have serious concerns about the successful delivery of the CE1 project.
Project Omni
So Kyndryl very secretively initiated Project Omni to displace US workers with ones in low cost countries like India. Someone got a whiff of it, and the project was shutdown. The resources hired/shortlisted for Omni are now being accommodated to other projects where the demand is.
Another day at Kyndryl…
DAC time to make this project a reality whether it makes sense economically or not
DAC will create direct and indirect jobs and give new technology entrants an opportunity to test this technology.
The highlights
More jobs in a tough economy
Test new tech and discover new tech
Burn lots of natural gas to create electricity to run fans, compressors to su-k air and inject into a formation.
How is Mav going so far?
Haven't heard much about it lately other than the OG deadline was pushed to May but, am curious if that is even achievable.
Emails expected on Tuesday, January 29 (CA & US)
Project January 2026
Kearl alone is 19% of ExxonMobil’s total proven reserve
Someone posted a while ago that ExxonMobil might sell Imperial Oil, and another post stated that Imperial Oil might see Kearl.
Now here is the interesting fact: Kearl alone is 19% of ExxonMobil’s total proven reserve. I can bet, no one will dare sell Kearl. The stock price of ExxonMobil and Imperial Oil will just drop to the bottom. So, no one will dare sell Kearl
Here is the calculation from Copilot:
Here’s a refined breakdown of how much of ExxonMobil’s proved reserves come from Imperial Oil and specifically from the Kearl project:
🌍 1. ExxonMobil’s Total Proved Reserves
• At the end of 2023, ExxonMobil reported about 16.93 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in proved reserves 1.
🛢️ 2. Reserves From Imperial Oil
Imperial Oil is approximately 69.6% owned by ExxonMobil 23. Its operated reserves (which include bitumen) are included in Exxon’s broader totals. Notably:
• Exxon’s total bitumen reserves are reported at 2.414 billion barrels 1.
• Since Imperial operates the Kearl and other bitumen assets, it's reasonable to attribute most of that bitumen figure back to Imperial.
Calculation: 2.414 B bbl / 16.93 B bbl ≈ 14.3%
So, roughly 14% of ExxonMobil’s total proved reserves originate from Imperial Oil.
⛏️ 3. Reserves From the Kearl Oil Sands Project
• The Kearl project holds about 4.6 billion barrels of reserves 45.
• Exxon’s effective share of Kearl is through Imperial’s 69.6% ownership; therefore:
• 4.6 B × 0.696 ≈ 3.2 B barrels attributable to Exxon.
• As a percentage of Exxon’s total proved reserves:
• 3.2 B / 16.93 B ≈ 18.9%
Thus, approximately 19% of ExxonMobil's reserves stem from the Kearl oil sands project.
SeaLion
Now got project FID. should have been the springboard off the back of catcher to really propel DQ into competing with the big boys.
Now? This project will go to OneSubsea or BH and normal service has been resumed.
What a sad state of affairs.
Penn office in NYC
Anyone know if this office is still planned to be built at Penn station
Project 624
The suspense is ki-ling me. Anyone heard anything on how it's going? Are we making customers lives better? Success stories of any kind?
Any news on this top secret NDA project lately?
Just curious if anyone has info on where it's at
Is everybody in Polaris going to get laid off when it’s done
Really feels like Polaris is where you get moved if there is no position for you and you weren’t PiP. So after Polaris project ends, I’m guessing that means you’re cut. If you are average performer I’d be worried.
UM Centralization- pulse check
How is the UM Centralization project going? Any Thoughts from the nurses and UMACs doing the work?
AI projects
Believe I read that we have/had 40 projects in the pipeline. Any idea of the status and if any have been implemented? Looked at the Verizon board yesterday and the blood bath was scary. Will those projects cause the same thing here or will we continue with the slower Chinese water torture.
Google and Ford marriage
What is going on with those two love birds? Are they still bringing 5100 jobs to the Train station? I ask because an investment / real estate project is banking on that and I don't see it happening.

Flaunting Alaska projects amidst layoffs
“….ConocoPhillips is seeking to drill four exploration wells near its giant Willow discovery this winter, the plans show, marking its return to aggressive exploration in Alaska as construction at Willow progresses with first oil expected in 2029.
The work comes despite the company’s decision this year to cut its workforce globally, including in Alaska, amid low oil prices.
This winter’s program in Alaska illustrates ConocoPhillips’ commitment to the state…”

Why centralization doomed to fail?
This centralization will eventually fail. The centralized teams aren’t built from the BUs, and most of the people there lack the capability and experience to understand how things actually get executed in a business unit — let alone run a business. Many of them have stayed in the center since they were university hires and have never worked in a BU. They have no idea how to deal with real business realities or how to actually drive a project.
In the past, they could claim that they contributed significant impacts to multiple projects and BUs to justify their PSG levels. However, their actual contributions within the BUs were largely unverified — many BU results could have been delivered even without their involvement. As a result, their impact has been largely inflated.
Skunkworks
How many years before they're not needed?
Project Octane
Just a generic rant thread for Project Octane - feel free to unload here.
There isn’t much hope remaining Thierry’s launched it and we need to get ready to be nickled and dimed and denied anything we ask for.
Metrics
Management is pushing for all metrics in various reports to look pristine. One project had a tasks at 100%, which was questioned as the project is most likely, with accurate reporting, in a red status. Response was that the initial jobs or tasks were ran. When it was pointed out that many of those items were incomplete still, the response was well we listed that on another sheet. Got it. Hiding the real results so the reports look good. Never mind that the overall project will fail.
Told today to close out a project that was marked as on hold. Asked why and how to track. Oh just note it yourself, maybe with a stick on note. Seriously was told that. Just wanted it gone so report looked nice. It would be karma if I am gone when this is resurrected, because that note will be gone as well as the project plan.
This place is a joke.
MD spearheading project with Amazon
The almighty leader of global tech is spearheading an Amazon Alexa project that is a major waste of time and money.
The B’s
Are the other B’s getting investment and new projects or just Baytown?
AWS Proserve
Hello, I recently received an offer from AWS Proserve for a Sr Deliver Consultant role and wanted to know about the team.
Few points are :
1) How stable is the team? Are the frequent PIPs and layoffs?
2) How’s the medium term future of Proserve? Are there projects?
3) Is the delivery consultant more hands on role or is it more talking?
Thanks
DOL: Project Firewall
Anyone have insight oh how thia will affect Engine?
Santorini project
Please update any progress on Santorini or whatever new name. Do you think it will be delivered? Should paycheck consistently come for 1 yr more?
Brace yourselves
Truist stock is getting wrecked, worst it's been since MoE. Q3 numbers are expected to be rough, and we'll see that confirmed tomorrow morning. Looks like another Project STAR is coming soon, and it'll be even bigger than the last one. Truist is struggling, mostly due to mismanagement by Bill and team, coupled with tough economic conditions.
While back Nike was floating idea of turning Nike campus to Universal Studio
or Disneyland like experience. Is that idea still being floated? or project on hold or moving forward?
I am not in campus so I don't know! Appreciated if you can give me your update
Being ex Nike man, I think that if someone wants to send me to he-l for a day, that would be Nikeland. LOL
Who would have thought #Project 2025 was really just about Cutting The Edge off COP?
McChevron
Any news on when McKinsey will depart so we can all get back to work? It would sure be nice to focus on work instead of meeting with them daily simply so they can provide our leadership with a fictitious projection for savings. I no longer even try to provide them with accurate information since we all know they are serving as middle management in Chevron now. Of course, their very survival depends on drumming up more fictitious projects.

More Layoffs to Come
Lots of projects are in limbo. This is just first round. Teams and Projects will be aligned to new initiatives. If there is no fit, there is plan to layoff more.
What a Crock
Did nexgen actually do anything other than waste hundreds of millions of dollars and su-k at rollout? Last I heard everyone on that project got 1’s and nice differentials to save face. Then were shown the door for that disaster.
