Why are there so many Managers and Directors now?
When I worked at Fannie 10+ years ago, there was the Manager->Director->VP hierarchy. Now when I check LinkedIn, there's Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Senior Director. And a lot more people appear to have those titles. Why did they make that... — read more
There are still a lot who don’t come into the office
I just need to vent. I still have to go into the office four times a week, while some people moved out of state and never even show up. I know there are many in other groups who honestly wouldn’t make a difference if they got laid off, but no one... — read more

Job market is terrible
I’ve been applying for jobs since May—over 500 applications so far—and haven’t gotten a single interview. I’ve even seen some of the same jobs I applied for get reposted. What is going on? Is it just me, or is everyone experiencing this? It’s really... — read more
Is the company still laying off?
I have an interview next week.
Any news?

What is Fannie Mae's attrition rate?
Employee count still dropping. Not sure if this is part of regular attrition or they are still axing.
Where are lay offs for the Managers and Directors
This place is such a joke! They continue with the nonsense of making certain teams come into the office and they need people to cover when someone calls in or doesn’t show up! You have Directors and Managers that have no clue what they are doing. ... — read more

I feel like we are being monitored, every key stroke recorded, time online being summarized. I wouldn't be surprised if they were turning laptop cameras on without our knowledge.

Notice how ferocious and unhinged
the attack on Jerome Powell is. It tells you that these layoffs will continue until the end goal/state is reached. There is zero objectivity and empathy in this whole thing. The man simply doesn't give a sh-t about anything but himself.
Anyone notice all the new interviewees ?
Seems like the company is actively hiring more employees on a daily basis. Several potential new employees with visitor badges getting interviewed everyday in the cafeteria area. They might be backfilling all the eliminated positions.
More layoffs scheduled
Heard from a coworker who knows a manager that more layoffs are scheduled in the Capital markets, shared services and multifamily divisions. Managers have been given instructions to reduce headcount by 30%.
When’s the next wave coming?
Or should we just start treating layoffs as a weekly occurrence at this point?
Should be quiet this week
It's a short holiday week. It's the week after that worries me.
Do you think this pace of layoffs continues?
This is almost diabolical.
I’m just going to put this out there
