Once You Get Out of There...You Will Feel Liberated
New job, drink coffee when I want....work from home, when I want.. Big salary bump.
Big benefits bump. Big 401k contribution bump. No dysfunctional coworkers or management to deal with. I actually like my job. Treated with respect and dignity, a professional, not a factory worker....... there is a new life out there.......go get yours. Its waiting for you!....
Everyone from Lowe’s stores should
Go to their local union and ask to vote in a union. Each store has to get 80% yea votes to vote a union into the store. Then they negotiate on behalf of the membership and their complaints. Better health care better time off. Each store should employe so many full times and so many part times. Include part time in the contract.
New PTO policy is a slap in the face for that live in Texas.
New PTO changes -
Most employees will not see any changes to their PTO accrual minimums or PSWD carryover maximums, and no employee will have fewer PTO or PSWD as a result of this change.
· Illinois- and Nevada-based employees will have higher minimum PTO accruals (from 80 hours minimum to 104), while employees in California, Colorado, and Montana will have higher minimum PTO accruals (from 80 hours to 104) and higher PTO carryover maximums (up to 216 hours).
So a big - 🖕🖕🖕🖕 we don’t think you’re worthy Texas folks.
Nothing will change
More layoffs, more lost benefits, more reorgs, more of the same. I've lost any hope I had that things might by some miracle improve.
open enrollment
well at least my health insurance is only going up 10% this year. if only my merit increase kept pace
Amazing email on benefits improvement
Having a hard time swallowing this. Honeywell actually is planning to pick up the tab for medical insurance premiums to the tune of 40%.
It reads as if the decision was taken to voluntarily give employees money. Someone please find the cash. It seems too good to be true!
401K Empower is Already Trash
You can’t even register because their site is unable to send you a PIN by text. Ghetto AF. Sigh…Why are we treated so poorly?
At what year do vacation days increase?
Been at vz over 5 years with no vacation increase ever.
Hard To Believe
According to RL: Between 2022 and present, he took his eyes off the ball and our expenses increased by $2/bbl, due to the fact we hired 25% more people (in that amount of time)…
Could our cost increase be due to more than just over staffing? Maybe some cost overruns on projects (eg NextGen)? And will those project cost overruns end after this huge layoff? Or are we destined to do another round of layoffs in 2026?
I think, after the huge layoff is over, you’re gonna see a lot of other, small changes that will make it “not a fun place to work”. For example, they may begin charging a monthly fee for the gym. Insurance premiums will increase significantly. People will be asked to work 10+ hours of “casual” overtime, etc. You’ve already seen examples of this with PTO vs sick leave, and the “accrued vacation” policy changes.
I feel for the survivors because the sc--ws will tighten, and there won’t be many other job openings in the industry - you’ll be a captive audience, so to speak.
Sadly I think COP’s gonna be a different place to work than we’re used to.
10/14 or 10/28?
If Wells Fargo offered a 10/14 or 10/28 layoff (which they wouldnt), but just curious which u would take. 10/14 wouldnt offer the 401k match and 10/28 would. No judgement here, just wanted to get a feel for which u would take if given the opp.
Oct 2025 VBO
The VBO offered by BC is weak and not good enough to entice takers, beyond those already planning to retire this year.
401k contribution on Dec if retire this month
Does anyone know if Wellsfargo will give the 401k contribution in Dec if decide retire this month.
401K Catchup contributions going away in 2026
I guess I was a sleep at the wheel and misssed this announcement. Did anyone hear from Oxy about the new rules for the catchup portion of our 401K. It looks like you might still be able to add to a Roth, but I used the pre-tax catachup for years now since I am older and could use it. I guess the govt needs more upfront tax dollars. This is an extra 2K a year I will be paying in taxes. Glad I am retiring in 2026.

What a real company offers its employees
Got an offer today after several months off. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. The company offers profit sharing and an employee stock options plan. Sounds like a company that cares about its employees. Not sure why Dell couldn't...or better yet, wouldn't do this for its employees. There are better alternatives out there.
State Farm is a soulless, miserable sh-t hole to just to survive
Finished another week some how. State Farm is just a horrible excuse for an employer and represents all that is wrong with corporate America. For my first 15 years at State Farm I can honestly say I looked forward to going to work just about every single day. These last 10 years have been an absolute clown show. I thought it was bad but it is accelerating at an alarming rate. Everything they do sets you up to fail and ultimately sc--ws the customer over. I'm embarrassed most days to go into work. If we didn't have soo much money State Farm would be out of business within the decade. Please let it be known that 2026 will be the year of a huge exodus (voluntarily and involuntarily) for most people at State Farm. They are trying to get as many people to quit over stress leave. Horrible changes are coming at every turn from the pension, time off, health care benefits, return to work mandates and more unadulterated pressure. They are too cowardly to treat people appropriately and will just continue to destroy lives and careers. There is a special place in h-ll for these people making these decisions. Sold their souls to the devil. Run away as fast as you can, it gets worse!
Finally got the paperwork signed...
After 3 weeks, the separation agreement is finally done. Dell is covering 2 months of COBRA insurance (they cut us off a full week BEFORE he was laid off).
How long did it take for y'all to get health insurance reinstated? We're in OKC and I've been without medication for a month now. It's way too expensive to pay out of pocket (thousands). I'm afraid it'll be too late to use it by the time they reinstate & backdate it.
Benefits after layoff question
My husband signed his severance paperwork yesterday (after waiting for 3 weeks for them to get it to him) and they agreed to cover 2 months of COBRA.
How long did it take for them to reinstate the coverage after you signed the paperwork? They canceled ours a full week BEFORE he was laid off. (They claim they are "looking into it") But I haven't been able to refill medications ($$$$$) or go to appointments for almost a month now. I fear they will reinstate it too late for us to be able to use it - with the backdating.
Where Can I Find Information On The Chevron Ride Share Benefits
Can anyone direct me to how to get ride share benefits at Chevron?
Review Medical Selections Carefully
Take time to review your medical selections carefully because it looks like a lot of little changes have been made and some may or may not affect you. Please read the options carefully. ChatGPT can also help you select the best option for you and your family.
New Job Experience
For 10 months I’ve been working for a new company, here is a summary of my experience.
Managers are nice, especially in snr exec positions, humble too.
DXC is antiquated - the Tech in the real world is far more up to real world standards
The company I work for has proper salaries for employees, £70k for a PM Lead 4 days a week
Better staff benefits package, similar to perks at work but better discount %
Company paid meals
Manager said casually on a day we were going to be on site that we will go for a meal, I have the company credit card. And it’s not Nando’s!
Company paid Xmas meals (menu ordering)
Company paid fitness classes after work and lunch hour
Company paid proper well being session with people on site
Any training request is approved
Free EV charging on site
Barely any town hall meetings
If someone leaves or retires - the whole company gets an email with a thanks
No expectation to work stupid hours
They are genuinely shocked at my strong work ethic, DXC put you in a constant state of fear, and we have to work damn hard to not show on the redundancy radar, they think I work very hard and super productive.
If you’re under 60, you are wasting your years away here. Apply for jobs, and if you get an opportunity don’t look back.
BAE staff rejecting annual over 3% rise, most people in DXC haven’t had 3% in 10 years. Let that sink in.
Working Spouse/Partner Surcharge
Please make sure you read the details of the 2026 medical plan benefits. Cigna is adding a $55.38 per pay period surcharge if your spouse is eligible for insurance through their employer.
They are promoting a capped increase of no more than 5% but that does not take into account the spousal surcharge.
Pension lump sum (commuted value) - can you only take it at the time you are laid off or can you take it at any time in the future?
Didn't see this clearly answered in the materials. Wondering if it is possible to keep it as is until a more ideal low rate environment, which would pump up the commuted value.
New flex PTO?
Do we keep our vacation time and PTO is flex or is all paid time off flex starting next year?
Big changes for anyone using the Chevron Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Plan
For those that use or have family members that use the Chevron Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Plan be aware that it is being discontinued as of January 1st, 2026.
In the announcement, individuals that regularly use these services are “strongly encouraged” to review the changes as the costs “may change”.
Rumor time: End of wellness week
Farewell wellness week. Welcome unwellness week. No idea if someone will actually TELL the wage slaves or not but word is it's dead.
Guess what?!
They are taking personal days away as of Jan 1. We will only have accrued PTO and I doubt they will add to our PTO to make up for some of that loss.
Made a mistake
I started here excited and now I spend my days fighting broken systems with no raises. Management seems out of touch and benefits are continuously shrinking, so the job feels like a grind with less reward. If you are early in your career think twice before locking yourself in.
Retiree Concession Change Letter
Got a nice letter from the Blue Death Star last night. "We feel your rising health care costs, inflation, blah blah blah" so we are increasing your wireless discount from 30%-50% but only if you have one of our "NEW" wireless plans. What the H$ll does that mean? No explanation included and online little help. Then "We also want all Retirees to have the fastest Internet so you will now all pay $30 a month going forward. I pay $10 now for 5 GIG the fastest plan. So Stinkey go retire like the VZ chairman so the stock can at least go up..........................
AT&T’s 150 Anniversary in 2026
Some Retirees have received information about increased benefits ((wireless plans now 50% off)). The letter stated it’s all due to AT&T celebrating 150 years in 2026. Makes me think our COO ain’t leaving just yet.
Internal Restructuring
How is nobody talking about this? Should I be applying elsewhere?? "Truist is undergoing internal restructuring. Sources indicate that between 500 and 700 contractors were cut last Friday in Digital and Technology divisions citing "policy concerns". Additional reductions are on the horizon, including cuts to employee benefits, further contractor downsizing, and full-time staff layoffs.'
Retiree Humankind Limit Slashed 30%
For decades, retirees had a pathetic $3,000 Humankind company match. Now it is suddenly dropped to $2,000. Successful companies actually increase these figures over time. Exxon and Conoco match $5,000, Shell $5,500. Yet another benefit reduction by our dying corp. What goes around comes around.
Roth 401k
In 2026, will HCSC offer a Roth 401k as the result of the Secure 2.0 Act, which requires catch up contributions for high earners be made only to a Roth 401k. Here we are in Q4 and I haven't heard anything yet. I believe if no Roth 401k option is available, then the high earner employee is not allowed to make catch up contributions. Curioyif anyone has heard anything on this from HCSC?
Lay-Off Next Day Options
Honest question about FMP next day options. I'm curious what services for cel phone did people move too? I seem to have found a good deal at Mint and with the Duel eSIM thing I found it rather simple to spin up a second line to migrate away from T. It was 90% less than what T changed my bill to after the loss of the employee discount. Did anyone find better deals ?
I need a retailer with comparable benefits
I think I’m about to be fired, so I’d like to avoid having that hang over my head by leaving on my own. I hate this because I love my job, but there’s not much I can do about it, I pi---d off the wrong person. Anyhow, everywhere I look, benefits aren’t even close to being as good as here. Is there anybody who’s worked somewhere else and knows if it’s a similar setup?
Will there be benefits changes?
Rumors down south are that there will be changes to benefits and enforcement of in office presence.
Anyone have insights re pension changes from DB to DC or other? Elimination of EDOs?
Prediction on people resigning at the first of the year
With the ill-received change to the 401k employer contribution*, I wonder how many people are waiting to retire at the first of the year so that they can get the 2025 contribution.
Child care Plus
Do you utilize the benefit or is it not worth it?
Sever bene
Anyone know for sure about the rumors mgmt is discontinuing severance all together???
