Layoffs canceled again what’s going on

So apparently the August layoffs are completely canceled again.

At this point, does anyone actually know what’s going on at Oracle?

For weeks we’ve been hearing about another major round of cuts coming in August, managers supposedly making lists, double-digit reductions on some teams, 6 a.m. emails, cuts before September 1, etc. People have basically been sitting around waiting to find out whether they still have a job.

And now… nothing? Canceled again?

The constant back-and-forth is getting ridiculous. One week everyone is convinced a huge RIF is imminent, then the date moves, then rumors start again, and now supposedly August is off entirely.

Has anyone heard anything credible internally about what changed? Are the layoffs actually canceled, just postponed into September, or is nobody—including management—really sure what the plan is anymore?

Would especially like to hear from Oracle employees/managers who have gotten an actual update rather than another round of Blind rumors.

Crazy times

I find it so disturbing that there is NO communication going on about who has been let go, what the more global impact is going to be. The layoffs WILL affect every team at Centene in one way or another. My team had several take VSP but no lay offs (this time or so far)....they haven't even publicly said who on our team would be leaving by VSP. Absolutely zero communication from manager and above on any impact. I mean, we all know things will change across the board for folks still here....yet it feels so hush hush....meanwhile the VSP folks sit and wait until late next year to actually leave......assuming Centene is still around to pay folks out by then I guess......But lets keep preaching about that transparency......

This past week has been eye opening!

I did not take VSP, but after what I have witnessed in the past week I truly wish I had.

Some people being told they cannot tell people they took VSP when some are. Teams finding out their People Leader is leaving via the rumor mill before they are told by them because "We want to be able to tell them where they are going to land", two weeks later they have no idea who they will report to.

High level VP's in charge of hundreds to thousands of people not seeming to have a clue what the new org structures will be or are doing a really good job of playing d-mb.

Get your s--- together, lock yourself in a room until you have a damn plan for those that will be left.

So many about to be blindsided by ISP next week from Mon-Wed that truly think they are safe because they did not take VSP.

Best of luck to all of you who chose to leave and to those that did not chose to leave but are on secret lists out there. You will be OK, and better off after what our leaders have shown us this past couple of weeks!

Canceled Townhall and more layoffs

It feel like the European markets has become the last target. Managers, mid level engineers and data scientists are being laid off like leaves falling in autumn. The way it is being handled makes it seem like they want to abandon much of the remaining EU markets. All veterans almost let go.

If feels as if minions were simply told, "keep removing people until you hit the quarter target numbers" , layoff is Nielsen new innovation, regardless of the consequences. The irony is that they seemed sorting employees by compensation in Excel and working their way down. R.I.P

PI Updates

Any new organizational updates from PI?

Another 10% is leaving on top of all the layoffs this year already. Any word on additional RIF?

A couple ppl have been able to move their VSP date which seems crazy. We were told Dec 11 but several have now moved to 9/4.

Some new teams have already been formed while some remain untouched with no new direction. Are we sitting ducks? Our leaders are leaving and we aren’t being told anything.

Anyone else here being told anything at all?

Also KT suing Centene? And naming KC?

August doom date

Im not sure if it’s because im not someone whos getting laid off, or it just hasn’t caught up to me yet…..but im wondering where everyone’s getting this august 12th-14th date as the timeframe we’re all supposedly supposed to know if involuntarily layoffs will happen ?I check my emails nearly every hour since this whole thing started and all ive gotten is im not eligible for vsp. Thats it, i see so many posts even on facebook of people talking about what and when their separation dates are. But i get no information, my sup tells my team nothing. I work in claims talking to the providers and do authorizations, so is it just certain departments with this information or are some PL/supervisors more willing to talk?

MCO or?

Are we still at an MCO Or has this turned into fast paced thriller featuring hidden identities, strange disappearances, dark secrets and shocking plot twists reminiscent of Harlan Coben's Netflix series?
The information is much better hidden and protected then Dr. Fauci's diary.

This is so exhausting and draining.

Schwebel's Begins Workforce Reductions

Employees at Schwebel's have reported the commencement of layoffs. Some workers expressed surprise at the sudden nature of the dismissals. The company is reportedly encouraging affected staff to file for unemployment benefits. Certain departments were expected to continue operations until later in the week. The exact number of employees impacted by these reductions was not specified.

When is management going to do something about theses people that calls in 2 to 3 times every month!

The managers wonder why morale is low, they wonder why people don't care anymore.
They don't take care of the people that shows up to work and when they do punish the ones that calls in all the time, some how it ends up being everyone included at the buffet.
Short handed, no communication, no help, and no rewards for hard work beside a paycheck.

Is there a freeze?

Our manager has been saying we'd get two new team members for what feels like forever. It's been months and nothing. No new hires, no updates, no explanations. I don't know if there's an official hiring freeze or if the approvals just aren't coming through, but whatever the reason, we're drowning. We can't sustain this much longer and nobody seems to care.

Surely, Oracle knows where the layoffs are going to be in Sept?

Surely, Oracle knows where the next round of layoffs in September are going to be? Probably Cerner, maybe Sales, maybe OCI, other places, if I had to guess from my uninformed internal location. So, why is management letting 150k people just generally wonder about if they're going to be next, and give current employees some sort of heads up? It's ki-ling all internal workflows with letting everybody think that "they're next", when it doesn't have to be that way.

To Execs and Mgmt and Board

We know someone is reading this...I heard today "this is the last one this year" this is the 3rd time this year I have heard that. That is why you are not trusted. It is that simple. You don't tell us the truth over and over again. This is the last one this year....most dont believe you. Board Members. The execs are not trusted. No exec managers. I know why you tow the company line. You dont want to be next. Grow a pair and stop lying also.

Channel Partner Group Hasan Goat Roping

I have been to Two World Olympics, Three Goat Roping's and one Hippo Gigging and never seen anything like this.. Was told Channel was strong and NO LAYOFF's this year on Jan 1 (Not there 5 months). Then this.... SH had a call with the group and said this place has "Failed". Then he makes the decesion on what peolpe go. I knew this group was "Doomed" after this. Last in First Out.... ATT is a great company but some leaders? Where is Chow need her back...

Still No Survey Results….

Weeks ago, they sent out an email stating the results would be provided, but of course, nada to date.

This is the hallmark of a very dishonest, disorganized, non-transparent company.

This survey was originally distributed last fall? (it was so long ago I forget when it was), and now we’re almost into June and they still can’t get their act together.

Total disgrace!

Always be prepared

It really doesn't matter when the next round is going to happen. How many times have we already experienced layoffs being dropped on us without any communication or warning that they might happen? Leadership has proven to us many times over the past couple of years that they couldn't care less about their employees, and they've been treating us accordingly - as the first line of any cuts they might need at any given moment.

AI Heaven versus Human He-l

It seems to me the leadership is trying to have its cake and eat it. Stretch the remaining workforce as much as you can whilst expecting them to adopt AI, close multiple offices, remove any hope of career advancement unless you want to move 1000 miles, provide no clear strategy or plan and leave everyone on tenterhooks wondering if they’re the next one to be riffed. No empathy or support from senior leadership or HR. It’s a complete shambles and something major is going to go wrong very soon operationally. Verizon is not currently a coherent or fully functioning company. It’s crying out for some strong and clear leadership that adopt an understandable and logical communication plan

Careerminds Study Reveals Layoff Communication Failures

Careerminds research highlights widespread issues with how companies handle layoffs. Many employees first learn about job cuts through workplace gossip. Only a quarter of laid-off staff felt leadership was transparent about the reasons. Poor communication significantly damages trust among both departing and remaining employees. Half of remaining staff considered leaving their jobs due to these communication failures.

Stand up and stop this madness

Why are we wven asking how to comply and trying to plan how many hours? PAY ATTENTION!!!! It doesnt matter when they are inconsistent and change the rules on a whim without appropriate consistent documentation and communication. If none of us comply then are they gonna consistently fire all of us? Some of ya'll need to watch A Bug's Life. 😆 There is more of us then them. Get off your knees and take the boot off your necks. Clearly their tracking is off so until they put clear consistent guidance what are you complying with and why? Lets all call in sick or take PTO for a few days. Let it fail and watch how tables turn.

WE DO IT BETTER

We’re here to show up, stay aligned, and support Verizon and Frontier priorities, and we will continue doing that while maintaining BAU responsibilities.

That said, the current operating model is becoming highly inefficient due to significant duplication of effort. In many cases, it feels like multiple groups are running parallel versions of the same call, covering the same topics, and producing the same outputs independently rather than consolidating into a single streamlined effort.

From our perspective, this creates unnecessary repetition and makes it difficult to understand why workstreams are not being centralized or aligned into a single execution path. It also results in situations where multiple teams are effectively doing the same work in parallel rather than building once and scaling across groups.

We are also seeing limited alignment between operating approaches. Frontier teams bring established, proven ways of working that are efficient and well understood internally, but there does not currently appear to be a consistent mechanism to evaluate, adopt, or standardize those approaches across the broader Verizon-facing effort.

At the same time, we are being pulled between BAU responsibilities and multiple overlapping Verizon meetings, often without visibility into prioritization or coordination across groups. This creates conflicting expectations and makes it difficult to balance delivery without clearer structure.

We want to be clear—we are engaged and willing to support, but the current structure feels like “too many cooks in the kitchen,” and it’s not clear how decisions are being streamlined or who is accountable for reducing duplication and aligning execution.

We would appreciate clearer direction on meeting structure, decision ownership, and how leadership plans to consolidate parallel workstreams so teams can focus on execution rather than repetition, along with clearer prioritization across BAU and Verizon-led initiatives.
