Seriously? I heard they’re running out of space and moving to a bigger location… all to make room for more hiring. Must be nice.

RTO tomorrow ( Monday) ?
Is 8/31 the big, anticipated day when everyone is expected back to the office in Boston and MMK?
Lenovo new Raleigh office?
Any rumors or confirmed sources of office opening near Lenovo center?
APAC invite
Any APAC folks getting invite for Monday ?
Good luck everybody.
For most of us, we're going into office full time. I am not in an office that requires people to go in office every day (yet).
Just remember, stay safe. This is just a job. Jobs are not worth our lives. Be careful driving in the parking lots.
I'm sorry this is happening.
New Cisco HQ
Where would you place it?
Senior Manage stays in Calgary
I heard that “key” management personnel who interface with the industry in Calgary (i.e. Petroleum Club) will remain in Calgary. I wonder where they will have their office!! 🧐. And, who are these people?? 🥸
In Office Dashboard Update
What’s the new one show? The old one showed very minimal data points.
Plano
Wow... Went to plano for the first time in a long time. PRESS chief of staff has a reserved parking spot and office.... Nutty
Overcapacity Work Area - Where to Sit?
RTO is getting exciting. My work area is over capacity, so I’m assuming the normal agenda is:
8:55 - Make awkward eye contact with someone already sitting in a chair
8:57 - Still searching for a chair
9:00 - Find a chair
9:15 - Defend chair
9:30 - Establish territorial boundaries
10:00 - “Collaboration”
10:15 - Someone steals my chair
Next time put Musical Chairs Corporate Edition, in the calendar invite.
I’m exploring alternative workspaces. Current availability:
My assigned desk - occupied by someone who got here before sunrise
Conference room - booked through 2047
Phone booth - currently housing three people and a flute
Break room - apparently eating lunch is considered “collaboration”
Lobby - security says I can’t plug my laptop into the revolving door
Cafe - one table, 37 people, and someone has already claimed the outlet
Stairwell - “not an approved workspace,” despite having excellent acoustics
Bathroom - HR has asked that I stop referring to Stall #3 as my “private office”, also has excellent acoustics
Parking lot - Wi-Fi signal mysteriously disappears once I cross the property line
Elevator - currently occupied, but I’m confident I can squeeze in with my laptop and spend the day riding between floors while aggressively maintaining eye contact on Zoom
My car - becoming the strongest candidate
I’m sure leadership has a flexible solution.
Apparently “return to office” means return to the general vicinity of the office and figure the seating situation out amongst yourselves. Our return was planned, but seating wasn’t.
RTO tracking
Hearing rumors they are not looking at just badge swipes any more and are now looking at ip addresses of laptops and where people are accessing the network from.
Has anyone heard more about this?
Locations in Houston
Is Baker looking to merge locations in Houston with Chart.
In-office time
How long are we staying in the office, if there is a badge-out system?
Is there a “minimum number of hours required”?
Does anyone know the “rules”?
No email 6am today
Didn’t get an email today. Assuming no one else has either
Question on Contract job RTO
Sorry to ask this here but are contractors required to go to office 3 days or there is no in office monitoring for contractors?
Cooler in the car
Once we are full RTO, planning on having lunch in my car with a few IPAs.
OOO
Lots of out of office notifications. What’s up with that?
Plano still 3 days week RTO?
When is Plano going to 5 days week in office?
Closing COS office
COS Office is closing in November
Badge-out / Richmond, VA office?
Hi everyone! Does anyone here go to the Richmond, VA PP? Does it have a badge-out system?
Enforcing minimum hours in office
Heard chatters about Q enforcing minimum hours per day (like Amazon) spent in office in the near future. No more coffee badging. Anyone could confirm if this is a rumor?
I had to chuckle

Should I accept an offer for Fidelity LEAP? (college grad)
Hey guys I noticed that there are a lot of complaints about Fidelity on this page. I currently have an offer from Fidelity for the LEAP Software program but I also have an offer from Citi bank and am interviewing for USAA. Im hearing about constant layoffs as well as having to go to the office 5 days a week and there not being enough space for parking or sitting. But it seems like fidelity has the best upward mobility and would be a good place to start my career
Dress code
What is the deal with dress codes at the office? Remember 2019? You'd get that email saying "reminder: business casual, no tennis shoes" like it's a bouncer at a nightclub for accountants. Somebody's checking your shoes before you send your first teams message.
Now? Now it's like the dress code just....left. Didn't even give two weeks' notice. Guys are coming in wearing hoodies, shorts, Birkenstocks. Birkenstocks! You know, the shoe that says "I'm not choosing between comfort and sandals, I'm doing BOTH, and I dare you to say something in the 10am meeting."
And nobody says anything! Where's the email now? Where's HR? I think HR saw the Birkenstocks and just gave up. They're on another floor somewhere, in sweatpants, eating a sandwich, going "you know what, let 'em wear the sandals."
Back 5 Days Sept - Watch you Back
Here to shear that there is a massively supportive corporate level campaign to monitor and manage compliance with the RTW mandates. This includes the 5-day requirement for employees who have always been assigned to an office to badge in five days a week, and the January 2027 requirement for former remote employees close enough to an office to work 5 days a week in office.
Leaders are cautioned to monitor dashboard activity and use non-compliance for employee exits. HR is also monitoring aggressively. If you have an under table agreement with you direct manager, HR is overseeing it all. Plan accordingly.
Phone hours
Did the hours for phone assistance get cut recently?
Merrill is 4 days in office
I am being told by my band 3 managing director that Merrill will be 4 days in office, regardless of location or office/assigned seat/flex seat. Client facing areas may be 5 days in office if they are not already.
Can we make computer slower?

Internet in home office is absolutely ridiculous
I would rather post here. Please list other issues.
Back to the office…
So how long until all remote positions are gone now that SM is in charge?
Any truth to this rumor about RI campus
Heard that Fidelity either bought or leased a building in Warwick, RI and return to office in Smithfield is January 2027. Some people have been told this...and others have not. Just curious what people are hearing.
Back to Office in September?
My manager has been kind of evasive on this topic saying maybe he can get us in a hybrid mode. What has been your managements direction on return to office? I understood its all of us no matter what!
Office days
How many days a week do you report to the office?
Edmonton Job Postings
Nothing makes me feel better than seeing job postings for roles in head office that are in Edmonton. So many people have said no to relocation they have no choice but to go external.
The institutional knowledge loss will be huge.
15 minute meetings
Let us know if you were impacted? Position and office location
Laid off last year... What's the current RTO policy?
I realize these types of questions get asked a lot. Searching for previous posts is ok but usually yields a variety of responses that made it difficult to determine the actual policy/practice.
Before I got laid off no one was enforcing 8 hours in the office for 3 days a week. So I went in for a bit then did most of my hours at home because I had literally no co-located coworkers.
Is there reporting now that shows if you left early to finish at home? Is it still 3 days a week (this role I applied for is in CSBB).
Assuming there's at least some leeway with Dr appts etc I don't mind being in office 3 days a week. But I thought I heard rumors of 4 or 5 days in office for some groups before I got laid off - usually investment employees.
Office tracking dashboard
I’m checking the dashboard. I am at 57.4% for some reason.
I am in compliance every other week except one week where I came into office one day, had two home days, had used sick leave one day, and had an approved non office work day.
Why would that drop me below 60% average? all are approved days.
Even free pizza couldn't bring people into the office today.
Today at the office in Tempe they were going to have a pizza party for the upcoming conversion and everyone both in office and remote declined attending. It is kinda sad and funny.
