Network Employees - would this have caused the outage?

Verizon won a ruling yesterday that allowed them stop unlocking phones after 60 days. If. an update was pushed to lock all phones that had been unlocked prior to the ruling, could that have caused the supposed authentication issues that are rumored to be the cause of the outage?

So what groups do we think will be hit the hardest?

We all know layoff season is upon us... again.. What are everyone's guesses?

To start with, I'm betting a LOT of the Maverick folk's, NC included, PM's, Engineers, Sr. Engineers, and managers who were heavily involved will get cut since the OG deadline was pushed back a quarter. JC was NOT happy about this, "to be clear."

  • Full remote employees - I feel like at some point Dell HAS to start cutting the full remote's considering they want 100% of the company to be local to an office now.. They are hoping many will quit as remote's are not eligible for promotions or movement but, depending on your IC level... that may not be an issue for a lot of them. Not that dell has been promoting anyways lol.

  • Then, ISG/CSG...

  • IT - tech support, devs, etc..

  • Sales - likely more ISR's and AEs or TSR's. Or they combine a TSR into a one shop stop who does all of those roles lol..

  • I'm betting a lot of middle management will be cut this round, which would be directors because the majority of managers and sr. managers were demoted last year...

  • Then the over 50 crowd, those who've been there for 15+ years, and those who make way too much money for their grade level.

  • Then the rest will be mostly randoms

WHATS GOING ON?

I noticed on Att careers there’s so many job postings for associate directors In several states! Did something happen for this to occur? It’s like 8 job postings they got rid of everyone?

Anyone have a golden hammer?

Will need it to drive the final nail into the Model e coffin. Winter is coming…

Who has an update to share?

There is a lot of knowledge out there. More than a few know about upcoming layoff dates for FIS associates still servicing the FT contract. If not the dates, then the outcome. It would be a real kindness to let those expecting to be laid off know when that might happen. Clearly, this space is being watched carefully by many, spill.

NSM debacle

Who else enjoyed the CA and AG show? I've never heard such self serving drivel! These two have proven to be among the most toxic "leaders" in recent memory. SL is too new to know how bad they really are. Her Jepordy farce was a complete flop. Alex, I'll take "tell us your sales superpower for 2 cents."

2nd, 3rd levels are unnecessary……

They have no authority to do anything. Many came up from craft years ago. But things have changed. There’s a lot of room to cut payroll. The irony is that the azz hole that created the problem is now the CEO. When is John Stankey going to be held accountable for his incompetence?

Freedom

It feels weird. Anyone else in the 1/9 group feeling out of sorts? I'm sure I'll settle into it. I'll definitely miss some of my co-workers.

And is it wrong to hope things go to cr-p with so many key, long-term resources out the door, myself included?

Ergonomics went out the window … RIP

Manila, Argentina, engine don’t have RTO: they are still hybrid. Why?
What’s the point in the US to have a free for all “find a place” seating?
New spaces are GREAT if you do not care about any ergonomics whatsoever.
When are 1500 office workers moving to 1400 so they can spend $100k+ building floors with glass and non adjustable chairs?

When are the packages coming again?
Makes me so sad - you?
