Hearing rumors about a VLO opening up in the Spain office. Can anyone currently based there confirm? Is this connected to the recent Work From Home (WFH) policy changes?

Wfh accommodation denials
Has anyone else been denied for their previously approved work from home accommodations? I've been approved for two years and now I got denied. I dont understand this push to be in the office, its tanking morale
Collaboration
How’s is everyone’s team building, collaboration, and efficiencies improving with the anti-WFH initiatives in place while having half of your core working group in Pune?
Workload got increased after my WFH accomodation got approved through Matrix
Being able approved to work remotely makes you a target for the mo--n leadership here. I’ve seen many cases of former colleagues over the years who got laid off after being medically accommodated. Now I’m paranoid because my workload got increased substantially and unusually and if I don’t get them completed, they claim it as my performance issue
RTO not being enforced by Management
Is anyone’s office Management not enforcing RTO 5 days a week? My office, people come and go, no one ever works a full day, and bosses still let people work from home whenever they need to. Meanwhile I am in there everyday working a full day, full time schedule. WTF is going on with this company??? Total joke of a place. I heard some managers definitely not enforcing this new policy.
Commuting to the Office to Work Remotely From the Office
There are absolutely times when people should be together, but in reality those times are few and far between. If the work actually benefits from being face to face, great. Get everyone in the room and get your sh-t done.
But that’s not what 5x RTO has become… We’re tracking badge swipes, building dashboards, calculating hours and obsessing over whether someone’s a-s was physically in a chair for eight hours. All for… what?
So people can drive to an office, put on headphones, open Teams and work remotely from the office?… Seriously, what the fu-k are we doing?
If my entire day is Teams calls, emails, spreadsheets and work with people sitting in different buildings or different states, then forcing me to commute to do it from a cubicle isn’t collaboration. It’s pointless theater.
I could do the exact same work from my house just like I did for a decade before Covid. I’d get more done, I’d be less burned out, and AT&T wouldn’t have to waste money supporting the office just so somebody can say we were “present.”
Bring people together when there’s a reason to be together. Stop confusing physical presence with productivity. They are not aligned.
If the end result of 5x RTO is that I commute an hour to sit in a building and work remotely from my desk, then congratulations, you did it (and nothing else)!
Way to go baldo! You just reinvented working from home - with traffic. What a joke!
WFH = sc--wing off
Change my mind.
Good Luck Remote Warriors!
Everyone complaining about CareFirst while threatening to quit, yet never following through, and claiming they can find a comparable remote job for the same pay elsewhere is simply blowing smoke.
Good luck to all of you, you're going to need it.
Is Monday WFH happening?
Keep hearing rumors about working from home on Mondays getting approved. Anyone have any updates?
“I was there.”
Average hours report is broken and they apparently can’t fix it.
So enjoy WFH for the rest of August. If anyone asks why you weren’t in the office, just point to the inaccurate report.
All you need to say is “I was there.”
Can’t argue with the bad data when they’ve already admitted it’s bad.
Funny how we’re expected to trust these reports when they want to enforce RTO or terminate headcount, but when the report doesn’t work, suddenly nobody can figure out how to fix it.
5x RTO: powered by a spreadsheet that doesn’t know where anyone was. Pure genius!
WFH full time after notice
If I resign I need to give 30 days notice do I really need to show up to office in the final stretch? Maybe last day to turn in my computer. I’m thinking what’s the point it’s not like they can fire me, by the time “not on model” shows up I’ll be long gone.
5x RTO isn’t a senior social program
Some people seem to genuinely need the office for their social life. Fine. Go in five days a week. Nobody is stopping you.
But I’m not going to work to make friends. I’m here to do a job. And we’re told loyalty is dead and we’re a market-based company, so let’s be honest about the relationship — I sell my time and expertise, AT&T pays me for it. That’s it.
I prefer working with people who can get their sh-t done without an adult babysitter watching over them. If you can’t perform from home, sitting in an office doesn’t magically make you productive. Now you’ve just added a commute and a day full of distractions.
We’re supposed to be here to work, not recreate a nursing-home social mixer five days a week.
If you need the office, have at it. Just stop making the rest of us pay for your social life.
Remote jobs
I'm not sure why, but remote jobs have started popping up in my feed again, and not bad ones. I'm tempted to start applying, if I can get the courage. The devil I know still seems better than the devil I don't, but I miss WFH so much that it could push me to go for it.
Why are only the people who returned to office having to meet a performance goal of 60% in office requirement ?
The remote and wfh accommodated employees are not having to deal with any of this BS. Isn’t that discriminatory to able bodied employees? They are making more money ,too, not having to commute, etc. I mean no wonder morale is so low! People in office are tired of the whole thing. We are not all playing on even turf. People that do the exact same job are required to be at 60% or more while the majority are at home raking in the savings! Boooooooooo! US Bank has some issues that need to be addressed asap!
Bank of America being stricter on WFH policy
Seems like employees received an email where they can no longer work 2 consecutive days WFH and need to be in the office for a 'full day'.... will TIAA be next? Anyone here have any insights or heard anything?
Meridian, ID Cards? On life support?
Overheard a call last Friday between some high-level Cards managers and one of them said that the Meridian, ID CSC near Boise was probably not going to renew their lease when it comes due in 2027, moving all of those roles who work there to Sioux Falls, SD. I know they closed Roy, UT last year but they let everyone become WFH, not relocated or terminated. Anyone with better intel? I have a good friend who is a c14 there and he knows nothing about any plans to leave.
The Perfect Day:
- Show up at the office at 8am
- 8 hours of Teams calls with people in a different state/office or working from home
- 30 minute lunch break
- Leave at 4PM and drive two hours home
- Question the point of it all
It doesn’t get better than this!
Ooops, I did it again
Once again, left 1/2 day, might even telecommute tomorrow, didn't update MOOSE, but my boss won't know, because they aren't here. I won't get in trouble but still getting paid. People get mad, but it's just because they are jealous that I am one of the boss's favorites
How Do You Report People Discussing RTO on a Layoff Site?
Someone is abusing the original goal of this site by constantly discussing RTO and tracking data.
If you got a job and worried about RTO, then maybe LinkedIn and Reddit is where you should be. To keep discussing RTO here is ridiculous while people worried about overall job security.
Tired of waiting games
I’m honestly tired of the waiting game. If you’re going to do layoffs just do it already. They already know who is going to be let go so just do it. The anxiety of waiting and wondering is getting so exhausting. In my area WFH jobs are non existent except for Centene. I have put my resume out there and applied for over 50 jobs already in case I get cut and was declined from most or never received a response. I’ve been with this company for almost four years now and have made it through other layoffs but they didn’t feel as extreme as this one.
I honestly just want answers or some type of update. The job market is awful right now and this is going to hurt a lot of people who live in smaller towns with not many options for employment. I truly hope I make it through these cuts but I’m mentally preparing myself to be let go. I’m still working just as hard every day but the anxiety is causing me to be physically sick. Sorry just needed to vent.
No WFH and I can barely breathe outside
Some local companies are allowing wfh bc of the heat wave and air quality. Nikes employee care has fallen off a cliff.
No consecutive wfh days
Whatever happened to that bullsh-t?
Finance WFH
The finance folks under Ed Claure are WFM. Why do I have to move when the dead weight ADs with a handful of reports get to WFH? Dead weight dialer managers and collection strategy clowns sitting pretty at home.
I just got a new puppy
And you can bet I will play w him all day and not do my dell work
5 Days a week
Haha. I knew it was coming.
They just said anticipate 5 days a week in the home office connect when someone asked if they are gonna go back to two days at home. They said “nope. Actually we anticipate five days a week…”
TOLD YA SOOOOOOOO.
HBAs are gonna be gone next, regular and medical.
BET!
Remote friendly companies?
Since this is a layoff-focused community, it would be really helpful if people could share companies they’ve found to be remote friendly or that don’t limit hiring based on geographic location. I think that information could benefit a lot of us. It doesn’t have to just be banks or financial services.
I’ve been with the bank 15 years and I used to love it so much that I was hoping to retire here but not anymore.
HOP
Has any HOP employee worked somewhere other than their home address? Did you ask and they allowed? Did you just do it and nothing happened?
More productive WFH.
When I was working from home during covid, I was amazed at how much work I got done. I was proud of how much I accomplished daily. It was a pleasure working every day. Now that I'm back in the office, the commute, the noise, distractions, bothered by boring id--ts has completely demotivated me. I only come in to do the minimum. They really miscalculated the whole opportunity.
Technological Monitoring
Occasionally both my laptop and external monitor blink black at very precise intervals. It's happened probably 2-3x/yr since we went WFH about 2020. Now it's becoming more frequent. It almost seems like a screen shot is taken exactly every 10 min. Does this happen to anyone else? How frequently? If it is monitoring, what triggers it, who sees it, how is it being used?
P.S. I know there is no privacy at work/on their equipment, and see the disclaimer every morning. I'm mostly curious.
Wfh is good for avoiding layoffs, just have your story straight
Just seem busy whenever a manager calls. Otherwise put your feet up and watch YouTube and relax. The work isn’t that hard here. It’s still good, just don’t be visible and they’ll forget about you
On camera when wfh
Manika says we have to be on camera when we wfh.
Frequent Vistor
Wanted to let folks know. I'm in the bay area. i just scored a fully remote job that pays about 25%. No more badge swipes for me. Life is about to get very good for me, planning to do some airbnb and travel overseas. Friday i'm going to drop the news on my boss.
Anil Team told to stay home tomorrow
Not good, this is not frontier only
Work from Home Versus in Office
Are most Centene employees working from home right now, or in the office?
If you had to transition back to the office after a period of remote work, how was that adjustment?
Don’t do it
Managers are independently, checking coworkers addresses so I would not work from home for a month if you are not impacted. That is just my suggestion.
Walgreens Save A Trip Layoffs
Walgreens was the absolute worst company I had ever worked for. I was working WFH as a "Centralized Specialist" for the Save A Trip department. It was so draining especially for the extremely low pay, rude disgruntled customers and terrible micromanagment. They decided to lay off the whole Save A Trip department no warning no nothing. If you are offended a job from this company run as fast as you can. Nothing but misery comes from working here. No good pay, No appreciation, no job security.
Change In Office Policy RTO WFH
Is there going to be a change with the full time 5 days in office policy or not what is with the constant decision making delay and teasing about changes. Absurd policy.
WFH Thursday and Calls Canceled
Being told to WFH on Thursday and all of my morning calls have been canceled for my team. Being told that more info to come on Thursday but make sure we are available Thursday morning and to not schedule anything
Work from home this week in Lake Mary
A bit odd to let Lake Mary WFH this week for the holiday.
AT&T Layoffs - More to come!
They moved people out of real estate to WFH to get the real estate off the books end of 2nd quarter. Not because there has been a change of heart for RTO. Confirmed, a large WFH group. Shift bid completed early June NOT fully released. Company seems to be releasing 2 - 3 weeks of schedule. Normally, they would release about 3 month. This not an indicator of restructuring. #WFH #AT&T #AT&TLayoffs
