The University of New Orleans is officially rejoining the LSU system on July 1, 2026, after a 15-year period within the University of Louisiana System. This transition aims to provide financial stability and address declining enrollment and past budget issues. The university, originally founded as Louisiana State University in New Orleans, experienced significant enrollment drops after Hurricane Katrina. The move is expected to require substantial investment in technology and facilities. Despite past program cuts, the university is also planning to reinstate its marching band.

VZ spends close to half a billion dollars on owning, renting, and managing facilities in the US that are cooled down to arctic temperatures, are sitting empty, and can fall down literally any day. What is the fing real estate team doing? Where is that Fing Alfonso leading this function with that chick who knows nothing but runs real estate now? Go sell the portfolio and save our roles. Work in 100 Magellan. This week, some of the common space/collaboration zones disappeared (big tables, couches). Cleared out just enough room on 3W to cram in 8 more desks between existing rows in a frw places. So I guess re-opening 200 to make room isn’t happening.

Well folks, more layoffs reported out of Estero today impacting Facilities and other departments. Other posts on social media indicating long timers quitting without jobs lined up. Forget back to basics and wasteful spending in throwing spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. Anyone left should be terrified of what’s to come!

Not sure if others have noticed, but the Frisco executive center is now sharing space with Intuit employees. It’s been noticeably more crowded lately and it doesn’t feel like the same place it was when we first moved in.

Which honestly brings up something I’ve been thinking about for a while — was Frisco even the right call to begin with?

The location is surrounded by toll roads. For a lot of us commuting in every day, there’s really no way around it. Those tolls add up and that cost falls on employees, not the company. That felt like an oversight when we moved in and it still does.

And now we’re sharing the space with an outside company? That wasn’t exactly part of the pitch when this place was built. So it makes you wonder — is this a cash flow issue? Or did the business case for building here just not hold up the way leadership said it would?

Either way, it’s a fair question. The people who made this decision aren’t the ones paying tolls every morning to get there.

By the looks of the Midland office, the mothership is going to be shutting it down soon. No one‘s ever there they’ve closed the whole floor and the other ones are maybe 50% full. It’s only a matter of time before they start leasing out one of the towers. If I were one of the employees there, I would start looking at other competitors that value people close to the wellhead.

The amount of skeletons we are moving with is too much for the old and too cheap to quit the lease tiny quarters. Wait! That will be for the new owners to bear. Sails a Way buckaroos!

Since we’re soft focused on speeding things up, how about knocking a hole between the two garages so that people can enter the building faster. It would also be safer for those taking the street after 6pm.

There has been some chatter around the Blue Ash offices that the goal is to move eveyone downtown?

I can’t imagine there is enough office space but I could be wrong.

I wasn't aware we were going to be seeing customers in the office. Oh wait we aren't. It would be different if our building wasn't falling g apart, full of mold, constantly under construction, or the air/heat not working. Let's also not forget our desks are absolute garbage and falling apart. Maybe they should give their employees working equipment and a decent setup if they expect them to look like they are ready for a board meeting, let's not even talk about the massive pay cut. They expect us to go buy new wardrobes on 40k salary when people are struggling to fund our VPs lakehouse???

Why are the signs that tell how many parking spaces are available not working? Why is the hurt free days on campus sign not working?

There are no paper towels to dry your hands with inside the employee bathrooms and in the break room. No hand soap to wash your hands. The employee bathrooms are filthy...the floor is black. It's disgusting to eat your lunch inside the store and even go to the bathroom....I rather go to Dillards next door where it's sparkling clean and they have automatic paper towels dispensers. oh and nice smelling hand soap too....One person to clean the whole entire store??? Please scrub down the floors and toilets....and aren't you embarrassed of how dirt fill your store is???? No wonder we have rats. Managers I encourage you to come eat and use our bathrooms?????? We literally have to bring our own soap and paper towels. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

L3Harris will implement layoffs. A total of 63 employees are affected. The affected site is its Orlando laser systems facility. The job reductions stem from a sale to Perimeter Solutions Group. The changes become effective on April 30.

We've been stuck in the HOU150 garage for 45+ minutes. That me and about 100 other cars. Just trying to leave. Unbelievable.
Force everyone into a needlessly remodelled office with open-plan seating that strips away dignity and privacy—then schedule repairs on the elevators, escalators, and garage all at once, grinding facility throughput to a halt.

If you’re going to force everyone into the office five days a week, can you at least turn the heat on? People are sitting at their desks in coats, winter hats, and gloves. That’s not exaggeration either.

You made the RTO decision, not employees. If the company doesn’t want to pay to make the buildings habitable, then revert the policy. Forcing people to commute just to freeze inside an office is beyond ridiculous and completely self-inflicted.

We wanted to provide a brief update regarding the restroom incident that occurred on Tuesday.

After quickly identifying the issue, NSG staff took immediate action by closing the men's restroom, posting signs to notify associates, and contacting a plumber. Repairs were completed, and the restroom was fully operational by Wednesday morning.

Facilities arranged for an industrial cleaning service to treat the area, including the use of an odor neutralizer. Fans are also in place to support the drying process, and the overall conditions in the area continue to improve.

The Facilities team will monitor the space and determine whether any additional steps are needed.

Associates who work out of the BTC may choose to work from an alternative workspace, such as the BTD, for the day by reserving space through Archibus.

Can't even work from home when the office overflows with sh-t!

Word is new seating assignments have been announced in Deerfield support office. But that the areas assignments for the most part aren't big enough to accommodate all the team members. Also, that the parking lot will be 325-350'ish spots short once OPO staff join in Deerfield in 10 days. Anyone hearing anything else? Feels too quiet this week.

This is so stupid. And it’s only going to get worse when they start upgrading the elevators, which involves shutting down capacity during upgrades. Based on the window progress at 1500 I think we are going to be living in this nightmare until 2028 at least.

Where will it stop? The question becomes do you jump from the sinking ship or wait for a package? After more than 10 years in facilities it’s just a matter of time. We are still overstaffed- really don’t need the middle management level. The director Bruce could just oversee the outsource group.

Tankless facilities are expensive and they don't work, oxyrock just came up with a facility design that's half the price and still uses tanks like normal and is about same emissions as tanked.

If you worked at IBM (or were a customer or business partner) you may have visited this IBM Palisades Conference Center which was amazing. This 33 minute aerial drone video made me cry as it shows the inside and outside. Like a science fiction movie (Aliens) where the humans just disappear. SO SAD!!!!! Like far too many former great IBM sites and buildings as IBM leaves the USA and declines into oblivion. DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN! Read about King Louie (Lou Gerstner The G Man) "having a treadmill reserved" just for him. SO ARROGANT!

One of Oracles major downfalls is when they outsourced to JLL. Oracle, DW thought it would be a great cost cutting measure , when I fact JLL is doubling the price of everything they do for Oracle. Our buildings are literally falling apart inside and out. Such a shame.. Peace and love all.. Try and enjoy the holidays all that matters is family..

we are hearing rumors that employees are moving to a different location in january and there could be a layoff round in december and that butters construction and the boca development fell through and there might be a fire sale of the facility like 320 park last year. What have all of you heard ?

It looks like that they are conducting unscheduled OSHA inspects at the Plano offices. This is good news to those of who are assigned at these poorly maintained office buildings.

I recommend everyone to submit an OSHA complaint for 2900 and 3400 Plano Pkwy to AT&T further up on their radar. If OSHA finds safety violations, they will hit them with fines and penalties. And then we will have to get some respectable facilities.

Anyone know what they are working on below the bridge on Energy when entering campus? I didn’t see any announcements made by E&PS, but maybe I missed them.
