Took forever, over a year. I almost threw in the towel. So glad I didn't. It's a much smaller company, pay is comparable, and they actually seem stable. Fingers crossed they don't go under or slash headcount the week I show up. Either way, best of luck to everyone still looking. Stay persistent. Don't quit. The market is brutal, worse than I remember, but there are still jobs out there.

I'm stuck in a miserable team and every day is a struggle. Bills keep me at SAS but I'm desperately looking. Been grinding on LinkedIn, company career pages, reworking my resume for hours on end. Still nothing but rejections. What platforms are actually working for people? I'm exhausted.

Remember when you'd apply and actually hear back? Not anymore. Now all I get is silence. And most of the jobs on LinkedIn aren't even real. They're phantom postings that go nowhere. The only way I see people actually getting hired is through networking. Someone knows someone who knows someone. That's it. The economy is really bad and the old methods don't work anymore.

Do you have new jobs by now? I know one person who's still unemployed, and that's scaring the he-l out of me. I'm hoping others are doing better and can alleviate some of our fears about the available jobs.

For those that have left Macy’s what are you guys doing now? What other jobs are better than Macys? I want to leave the company but there isn’t much options for me out there. Been with the company for over 20yrs, would I be eligible for a package or anything of that form?

I got laid off in November and I have not found another job. I am feeling very depressed of my situation. One of the hiring managers I interviewed with told me he cant believe Verizon would lay off someone with my experience. But I didnt get selected for the job. I feel like there is a stigma. Makes them question with all the experience and accomplishments I have I couldnt hold a job. My ex colleagues who didnt get laid off have found jobs externally. It was easy for them to land another job.

How did we all do with the job search? I was blessed to be able to snag a job pretty quickly. To the people who are left behind: you will NEVER have less work than you do right now, but you'll probably have more eventually. Private equity isn't going to spend income on additional payroll. If you're considering leaving I say look around, it's not so bad out here. Then again it took a shove to get me out the door so who am I to preach? i got cut by oracle in 2018... it was the textboo way to do it... there were rumors of layoffs for a few weeks (then a one to one with my manager)!

a month’s notice, time for handover meetings, plus sh-t trainings for finding a new job or setting up as a consultant. there was also the option of a redundancy pool, along with 6 months of redundancy pay. about 3K of us were cut at that time.

now it seems like when it’s 30K, oracle threw all that good practice out the window and told everyone to f off via email overnight, with all access immediately revoked.

i guess clay magouyrk is a sh-----d who models himself on the musk school of management, whatever that means. safra katz seemed like a decent person who had helped rehabilitate oracle’s corporate reputation to an extant (i have reservations abouth her too) only for it to go down the sh-t-drain again.

There is no Future at FIS, Cognizant, or Zensar, so there is no reason to work hard or look for advancement.

There is no point in straining yourself to train your replacement. Just do the least that you can do to get by and nothing more.

It is time to do the absolute minimum required to not get fired so that you can continue receiving your paycheck while spending all of your time looking for another job that actually has a future.

It's a torture device that ends one way - you getting shown the door. PIPs have been used as an excuse to purge people for years, now they're just cranking it up. My advice is to play along, put zero effort into "improving," and spend every ounce of energy job hunting. XOM isn't the greatest company on earth. There are plenty of better places, smaller ones, often, that actually value their people.

I don't think either FIS or Cognizant, if I end up rebadged in the next round, will see any serious work from me.

I did mistake, was all aware something big going to happen but instead of preparing for new role. I wasted my time working hard on task which were unrealistic to finish.

I know it's tempting, but IT jobs aren't as plentiful as they used to be. Not to mention lots of competition from so many laid off tech workers. Depending on your skills and age, it could take months finding something new.

Intermountain Packing experienced layoffs. The Idaho Department of Labor issued a statement. This statement urged affected workers to seek help. The workers were impacted by the company's job cuts. The department's message followed the recent job losses.

No surprise there. I've been trying to make a job switch for months. The job market right now is as bad as I've ever seen it. What does that tell you?

How would I go about doing that? Is there someone I should send my resume to?

The company Nelson Global Products is closing its Troutdale site. Sixty-five roles are being eliminated. Layoffs are projected to finish by September 30. Proximity to customers, low sales, and shipping costs caused the decision. Affected employees will receive severance and job search help.

Does anyone know if your current manager will be notified if you apply to an internal position or if that only happens if you make it to the final round?

When you are recommended by hiring managers to apply and go through interviews and then just receive nothing, is normal now? Even following up with recruiters and hiring manager and no reply is standard here?

I was given the devastating news March 26. I already have an interview April 13 (Monday). No guarantees of course, but it gives some hope. I have probably applied to 10 positions so far. 2 rejections. And there was a contractor who sent me an email that seemed interested. But the role was in DC and paid significantly less with no benefits so I passed on that - not that desperate YET.

I never thought I would be playing this game again. I hope everyone who has gone down this cr-p road is making progress. I told the recruiter I secured this interview with that if they see T Rowe people applying that they are the best (workers not managers). Good luck all.

Any other housecall APCs notice they don't have a schedule in practitioner portal after May? Seems odd, and wasn't that way last year or years prior I would not be mad at being laid off, as I've been looking hard since beginning of this year for a new role.

Being employed is still better than job hunting while unemployed, so that's what I've been doing. The office has been chaotic for months, which means I can focus on what actually matters to me. Management's inability to manage through layoffs? Not my problem.

Run! Yall need to find another job quickly. No one is safe. When your support services like facilities are being cut, you know there is a problem. RUN!!!!

Recently, I interviewed with a company and reached the final round. They asked when I could start the job; they seem quite flexible. With the announcement of another Rogers following JS it seems clear like our days are numbered here if you are not of a certain s-x or nationality.. Funny to see them try and get around JS's non compete with Rogers by hiding them in the transformation org. Feels like we should all be looking for a new job ASAP!

New Jersey experienced a rise in layoffs during Q1 2026. Employers announced nearly 4,800 job cuts through March. This marks a 30.7 percent increase from Q1 2025. JP Morgan Chase, UBS, and Fiserv led the announced reductions. Reckitt Benckiser and Novartis also eliminated positions.

Looking on LinkedIn there is loads of Broadcom / VMW jobs coming up. I left as a Senior Technical Support Engineer and I am thinking of applying to go back in.

Genuine question, how's life inside now? Would it be worth going back in

I started counting when I got laid off. Two hundred twenty four applications. That's about eight a week. Eleven of those turned into actual calls with recruiters. Twenty eight interviews total across phone screens, hiring managers, panels. Four times I got to the final round. Four times I came close. And four times I got the no or the silence. Until this week. One offer. Maybe another coming but I'm not waiting. I'm taking this one. The numbers were brutal but I kept going. If you're still in it, keep going.

We all know major cuts are coming, the only question is when. It's much easier to find a new job when you're already employed. And trust me, the job market is so bad right now that you don't want to be stuck looking for a job while unemployed with so many others in our field already out of work and looking.
