15,000 employees to be laid off in 2026
The combined total of 75,000 full time employees with 50,000 at c1 and 25,000 at discover will lead to a 20% quota of employees to be fired in stack rankings, a total of 15,000 employees out in PIPs for termination with low or no severance.
Job cuts finally arrive next week
They did the humane thing and waited until after the break.
Good luck with your job searches in the new year. Take care all.
Model E will be hit the hardest. Too many people in that org. Lots of LL6 who have no reports. Their roles are scheduled to be axed.
Emtech layoff 2026Q4
Oil price is declining. R&D being trimmed down to help achieve structural cost savings on target. Poor value delivery observed in emtech and IP walking out the door.
Attrition is not winding it down fast enough as hoped. Some hipos will be sent to business over next few months in prep.
Recommend requesting a move out of emtech if possible
This layoff scheme needs to be investigated
American workers ideas and intellectual property is stolen when they are laid off. Then cheap H1Bs are hired to do the implementation. This is the turbo scam of our time.
Accountability- PepsiCo l
There is a lot of internal chatter regarding the decision to have the CSTO lead LATAM Foods while maintaining the S&T lead. With a direct report structure of nearly 30 people already, many are asking how this serves the business rather than just consolidating power.
The Financial Questions
The S&T era under Athina’s direct leadership—along with Vikram and G-yatri—has seen a staggering level of spend.
• ROI Gap: Many within the org feel the billions spent on "transformation" haven't materialized into frontline efficiency.
• There is significant frustration over the lack of business justification for the heavy reliance on specific global tech and consulting partners.
The Offshore Oversight Issue
The "India and Mexico Hub" model - While local teams face budget freezes, we see:
• Lavish travel and spending from global hubs.
• A perceived lack of productivity, with local leads often picking up the slack for offshore teams working limited hours.
Culture & Leadership
Is the "PepsiCo Way" being applied at the top? The leadership style and treatment of partners during this spend-heavy era have been widely criticized internally. Instead of an audit into the financial results of S&T, we see a promotion to a CEO seat. How does this align with our goals of being a lean, accountable organization?
Happy new year
Happy new year everyone hope yall have a successful year getting out of OT and landing an actual job in a better / good company. I would say great but even good is better than OT. I will be interviewing over next two weeks. Good riddance OT. They don't know what's going to it them in next week or so. Good luck OT "leadership" trying to fix this.
2026, when do the cuts start?
Marketing redundancies got the axe middle of Q4 last year. The early February is the projected end date for LCCs per union members who received advanced notice — assuming they don’t relocate anyone or save support staff that’s cutting a lot of heads. Who else might go? Channel support? They don’t do a whole lot anyway other than redistribute PowerPoints someone else made…
🎉 Happy New Year 🎉
In 2026, what companies are letting people go this year? 🥳
Please share whatever news 📰 you have.
Hopefully 2026 will be a better year.
May 2026 Be Your Year!
To all of those who are treated like cattle sitting in small stalls all day while the elites sit in their offices with their doors closed…emerging once a day to say hi to the little people while deciding who to layoff off (mainly based on politics) God Bless You.
To all of you who sit in those offices who have never been laid off thinking you’re better than the rest filled with entitlement, arrogance and ignorance for not knowing how your decisions hurt others and the smugness of thinking you’ll never be laid off because you are somehow so invaluable…may 2026 be the year you yourself experiences this for the first time.
A layoff damages and impacts people in ways you can only know if you experience it first hand. It’s your turn.
Happy Last Year!
2026 will be the last year of AT&T employment for many. Make the final weeks count.
The Biggest Casualties of Trump’s Year of Government Cuts—and What to Expect in 2026
Some parts of the government have been hit harder by mass firings and buyouts than others. The Partnership for Public Service found that just three agencies account for more than half of the total staff reductions in 2025: the Defense Department, which has lost more than 60,000 employees; the Treasury Department, which has lost more than 30,000; and the Department of Agriculture, which has lost more than 20,000.

So, what combination of attrition tactics should we expect in 2026?
I’m definitely betting on more PIPs, setting up for it by completely unrealistic expectations, and most likely RTO as the now well-tested way to push people out.
I wish you all a Happy New Year
May we all be happier, luckier, and less stressed. And may everyone who lost their job find something new and better soon.
2 major Oregon employers announce mass layoffs
Vacuum Technique said it will close its facility in Clackamas because of “changing business needs.” Seventy-eight jobs will be eliminated, according to a new filing with the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Commission.
The news comes after Purelight Power, a Medford-based solar company, told state officials last week that it will be shutting down operations and eliminating 109 jobs, including 84 in Medford.

5 states cutting soda from snap today
2026 looks to be another horrible year. 5 states removing soda from snap benefits, and more to come. Have you heard a plan to make that up, because I have not. No plan, no results, more layoffs.
The big one is coming, and then 5 day RTO
You 4 day RTOers complained about not having enough parking and desk space. Well, all that is about to change. In the 1st quarter all of the inconsistents they've been handing out like candy will be used to cut thousands.
You heard that right. Thousands.
Then following that, the survivors will get the 5 day RTO or else threat. Those that violate the 5 day RTO will be PiP'd and fired.
The end game? As small of a SE Michigan salaried footprint as possible. And LCC replacements.
It's the new Ford. Where the vehicles will be assembled by American hourly workers, but designed by cheap foreign engineers. It's been moving that direction since 2019, and this will be the final blow to bring it all to reality.
Me? I'm retiring EOY after nearly 4 decades. I'm at a level that you can count on my knowing what I'm talking about.
GL2U all.
Layoff running totals based on Slack
Tracking participants count #general Slack channel in Oracle One workspace, as the fastest available proxy indication of ongoing layoffs.
- dec01-dec31: 1031 layoffs, and 844 additions (based on Slack regular tracking)
- nov01-nov30: 1614 layoffs, and 1327 additions (based on Slack regular tracking)
- oct01-oct31: 2504 layoffs, 1762 additions (based on Slack regular tracking)
- sep02-sep30: 6275 layoffs, 861 additions (based on Slack regular tracking)
- aug14-sep01: 733 layoffs (based on Slack very few data points)
- aug01-aug14: ?2900 layoffs in IDC (based on media reports)
Regions outside IDC and NA usually have a significant delay when laid off people are disconnected from Slack (e.g. 1 month in Pacific regions, perhaps longer in some EU countries), so this is a floor estimate with additions reflected immediately, but reductions lagging behind on average.
I will post daily in comments on the count change and running current month total while this post is still on the first page.
P.S. Happy New Year!

When will ESG take care of the redundant managers?
There are still many redundant managers in ESG.
ESG could borrow Amazon’s layoff criteria to weed out them:
Managers reporting into other managers at the same level.
Managers with less than half their direct reports in the same location.
Managers with fewer than 8 direct reports.
Managers who are remote employees themselves.
The GM of ESG should really take a hard look at the managers under the directors, since directors will always try to protect the ones they’re tight with. And keep an eye on recent org changes, because reporting lines can get shuffled around just to help certain managers dodge these criteria.
Serial layoffs are becoming the norm heading into 2026
About 49% of HR leaders reporting significant drops in employee morale after serial layoffs, while 47% said they saw a drop in connectivity. About 41% said they saw an increase in resignations.

There’s been a lot of pressure lately
It almost feels intentional, as if my team is being set up to fail. It seems more like attrition by design than anything else. People are so demoralized that no one has the energy to push back. Being laid off with severance is beginning to feel like a win, given Nike's trajectory and compared to being worn down by tactics meant to make you quit or give a reason to fire you.
I wish we could go back in time on layoffs
Years ago, it always felt like they targeted lower performers, and most of us were okay with that. But that hasn’t been the pattern lately. The more recent cuts looked like they just wiped out roles and whoever happened to sit in them, performance be damned. Now nobody feels safe anymore. How's that better for the company?
Any idea when layoffs might start?
The latest rumor was sometime in January, and that they could be massive. Has anyone heard any updates?
I see the first rounds of 2026 layoffs are already being slated
The only truly permanent thing around here seems to be my manager. He would probably survive a nuclear holocaust. And not because he’s a good manager or indispensable for his competence or people skills, but because he’s a perfect fit for the toxic culture.
Layoffs for Stock Price Increases
L3Harris had several rounds of layoffs this year, to artificially inflate their stock price, to ensure that the Board Members got their bonuses. I find it very interesting, now that the bonus checks have been mailed out, that L3Harris is hiring again. Coincidence? You be the judge.
Pay package reports
How’s it feel seeing in print our median employee pay went up 1% while Geoff jumped 16% and is the highest paid ceo in med tech?
Over a quarter if a million of personal use of the corporate jet while we get turned down for legitimate business travel between facilities.
Not to mention seeing greg smith get almost $9m to leave ops in total shambles…..
Happy new year, I guess, to us.
Another layoff at Charles River Labs
“We are continuously evaluating our business operations to ensure alignment with long-term strategic goals,” CRL spokesperson Amy Cianciaruso, said by email Dec. 26. “A key part of that strategy is evaluating our workforce to ensure we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time. We are working with impacted employees to provide the necessary resources to help them through this period."

Being competent, delivering results does not matter
Many who were competent and delivering got shown the door while useless people who do nothing survived and failed up. Majority of Directors/VPs don't know the ABCs of engineering of managing people - they are just good su-k ups, liars and back stabbers. Bad behavior and failure gets you promoted - IDK. Note I did not say everyone, there are brilliant, kind, great leaders who are worth every dollar they get paid, but they are the few angels around.

First Severance Pay of 2026
Received final paycheck as non-working employee on 12/26 that also included unpaid PTO. When will the first severance pay date be in 2026? Will it be on 1/2 or 1/16?
Got a 3 rating and 4 rating
Hey there!
Just got my miserable rating of 3 and another 4 rating. Does it mean I gotta an overall rating of 4?
I also suppose there goes my chance to even transfer to another team even if the promise of no PIP?
No need to say about incre or pathetic bonus, just looking survival at this point of time
London Council Overrides Mayor's Veto, Threatens Layoffs
London City Council overrode Mayor Randall Weddle's vetoes on Tuesday. This included an amended budget ordinance. The new budget could lead to 87 city employee layoffs. Affected employees are filing a wrongful termination lawsuit. The budget changes are set to take effect next Thursday.

Employee Fall-out from Strategy Charade
There are more employees across clinical and business operations leaving, most recently there has been many exits from HR.
One of the common themes during exit interviews is the lack of trust due to the the $30 million settlement award against Integris due to the cyber incident in Q4 of 2023.
Our Information Security department was turned into a paper factory due to the bad hire of VP CISO Stacy Stika. Stacy Stika has been given absolute decision-power over technical defenses, yet she have never built a system, cannot read code, and fundamentally does not understand how attacks work. What she does understand is spending time investing in media attention grabs such as submitting her own nomination backed by her friends to the Becker's Hospital Review. Becker's should have verified Stacy Stika could walk through, in technical detail, how she would contain a ransomware attack that bypassed endpoint protection AND was has no negligent breaches linked to her name.
Stacy's leadership has done the following since her arrival:
- Increased stress of clinicians due to mixed messages of security
- Institutionalized Dishonesty
- Taken the focus from care of those most vulnerable
We are tired of of the security glitches slowing us down. We have provided feedback however the people we provided this feedback to are no longer with the company. The Deputy CISO who fixed the problems from the 2023 hack left. We have frustrated clinicians who are the backbone of Integris leaving.
This is how 'layoffs' work here, leadership is restructuring healthcare services which is causing clinical staff turnover with no backfill. Also people are fired after the Glint my voice survey which claims anonymous feedback. If one is not fired for honest employee survey reviews then retaliation begins until the target quits. Worst of all, hiring in IT has more than tripled.
2026 prediction
This is what I think will happen
CEO won't be a nog enough name
Stock will hit 15 dollars
Struggle to sell any of the business
20% layoffs
PIP In Disguise as Layoff
I have hit all my goals and performance metrics, and still receive a partial meets. Which put me on a PIP. Is a PIP just a way for the company to let someone go without giving them a package, like they did in the past when it was a layoff?
Has anyone used a lawyer in Florida to fight this when it has happened?
4 Rounds of New Year Layoffs and Its not even 2026 Yet!
OMFG, it’s not even 2026 yet and there were already 4 rounds of layoffs announced. According to the WARN Tracker website, West Des Moines is laying off another 65 (1/2,1/23 and 2/6). Sacramento is laying off another 114 employees on 2/6. While it’s great to have a paycheck, this place is toxic AF and not worth the fear this place is filling my soul with. WF used to be such a fun and great place to work.
Anybody want to take bets the RTO mandate was to use against us for layoffs?
Dell mandated the 5 day RTO for multiple reasons but one of them I think is because they have a plan and that plan is to use it to let go a LOT of people who either never abided by that policy, OR didn't go in enough/quarter. Which technically speaking, is a valid reason to lay someone off as they are not following the company policy.
They have a solid years worth of badge tracking now and those who were supposed to go in but didn't, are likely gonna be on the chopping block. They made it so that anybody who is within a 60 minute drive has to go into office, which is very unreasonable and they know it was. 30-35 minute drive should have been the cutoff IMPO but it was an hour because they know that a lot of those who do live "within that hour" but have a 55 min commute, are likely either going to quit or straight up not go in 5 days/week.
idk, I've lost the incentive to do an amazing job. Why should I when there is no "pot of gold" at the end for me?
