Anyone else sick of "engagement"?
I been voluntold that I'm the engagement chair for my team. I hate this stuff. I just wanna do my job and go home not get involved in all this stupid stuff.
Explain
Can someone honestly explain to me what someone gets by posting rude comments on another persons post? Is it to just stir the pot see how many downvotes they can get or people responding? To really think they are better cause some of us are really struggling is completely unnecessary I don’t get it! They are here on this site yet are just complaining and being negative!
Dear John Stinky
For Gods sake please leave John. Nothing you will do will brighten AT&T’s future. The damage you are doing will lead to the company being bought out. Your ego has you frozen in place. You are the reason not the employees that the company is going nowhere. Your leadership is the worst I have ever witnessed. Take your shiny slick dome and ride off into the sunset forever!
Kintore and the Management
Can someone explain to me where we are going ? The nightshift want to know if the company will start to pay our netflix subscriptions to keep us occupied until you close it down.
Layoffs because of Tell Dell Results
Apparently Erik Day and other MB managers are saying they laid people off because sellers said they wanted more accounts in Tell Dell? Has anyone else heard this too?
How incredibly insulting!!
Great Quarter. Guess Whose Plate Stayed Empty.
Q2 was apparently a great quarter for the company. Great enough to raise the yearly outlook. Leadership made sure to credit us for it.
Remember when the raise was contingent on a good Q2? Yeah. Turns out the goalposts have wheels. Other regions got bumps in Q1. We got a pat on the back and a rerun of 2024's paycheck.
Meanwhile the CEO's total comp for the year lands north of $3.9M. Must be a real coincidence that number moves easier than ours does.
More Target Creative laid off today
Various roles within target creative were cut today with 60 days notice. Remember when people were proud to work for Target? Seems like a fever dream now
Layoffs for folks not coming into the office
When layoffs happen, higher up managers are going to be looking at the folks that have yet to return to the office. Employees are ratting out managers who don’t make their employees come back into the office. The morale is nonexistent and the employees who have been coming in for years are fed up.
Company is printing money...
... Folks at work should be smiling ear to ear, yet morale is in the cr-pper. Doesn't someone go hey, is this what 1+1=3 really mean...?
Discuss.
The stress is suffocating
The leadership is driving this company into the ground. I know people say the grass isn't always greener, but at this point, I'm not sure it could be worse. I just need a way out, even if it comes with less pay. I don't give a damn anymore.
Being punished for being here longer
This is the only place I've worked where tenure is a disadvantage. New people get attention, praise, and opportunity, while most of long-timers get ignored, overloaded, and quietly pushed aside. The loyalty that used to mean something now feels like a trap.
Stores absorbing quota from divested stores
So they divest stores then shift the quota to remaining locations. Not only do you have to combat lower team morale due to mass layoffs, you now how to close the amount of sales for more than one location and take a pay cut in commission. It’s not like these locations are closing down. Most customers probably won’t even know the difference and will continue to shop there
Why Don’t They Do Voluntary Separation Packaged
If they want to maintain or improve morale while still slashing headcount, why not offer voluntary separation packages to those who have been at the company over 8 years? You’d get headcount down, limit the angst for those who perform well and want to be there, and you can control the narrative a bit. You offer the package with a hard deadline and you celebrate those who leave with service anniversary ceremony at year end.
How's employee morale elsewhere?
I feel like my team has hit rock bottom. Every single person is looking for something else. Everyone.
They should be treating all of us better
It's such a simple concept that's been proven true over and over again: treat employees like they matter, and they'll make a difference. But when you treat people like cr-p, even if it's just some, everyone notices. The respect you lose isn't just from that one person, it's from everyone watching. This place used to understand that. Now it's just another lesson they'll learn too late.
congrats to the new king
climbing a ladder made of the bones of all those roles he sla-ghtered
Additional Bonus
With the massive profits the company is raking in, it might go a long way with the employees who have hit rock bottom morale to give an additional bonus. I know there's a f a t chance of that happening with MW ,but all of us who have suffered through his leadership should get an extra piece of the pie!
AI response quotes my opinion
Just an FYI for you. I entered a comment (on this site) about how Jones is reducing payouts on LP A share and provided my conjectures on its future. I was searching for sites that might provide more information on the offering. Guess what— AI quoted my comments as a factual response to my search. It is so ironic. The offering that will substantially lessen my annual earnings will provide capital to increase AI that is simply taking information whether factual or not and providing to users. So sad! Beware of any information provided by AI online.
Will there be Salary increases this year?
It’s hurting!
you did this to yourself
you should have left dell already. the company is crumbling and the company only cares about how much the CEO makes. Michael Dell has not done one thing for it employees
Can we focus on SAP and layoffs, please?
There are so many trolls trying to distract from the really important discussions around (potential or real) layoffs and how to cope. Please stop this. The important discussions are drowned out.
Two kinds of distractions are especially not needed: fake Indians (used to discredit Indians instead of focusing on the real opponents: the board and upper management), and na-i postings (often referring to the AfD, which is a really despicable lot of people no decent person would ever want to have contact with).
Stop this trolling. Do not drown the important discussions with this drivel.
Thanks.
For those left behind,
As in, those who do not get WFRed and freed from this shithole, what fresh he-l awaits us next week?
Dell is dying
Employees deserved better. Shareholders will be next to take the brunt. Dell is dying
Waiting!!
This waiting for Godot sh-t is for the birds!
None of you complained about compensation on the employee survey?
Got the email about survey results for Ops. None of the areas for improvement cited garbage pay. None of you wrote about that? Wild. Unless they ignored that complaint. And they would never do that.
"Schwab nice"
I have been with Schwab for 6 years, and still do not understand why people think that they are nice to each other?
There is not a day that goes by without people being rude, not doing what they promised, or just ignoring emails.
Chevron cheers fourfold profits boost
"Surging oil and gas prices drive Chevron to $12 billion in adjusted earnings, quadrupling last year's results."
Come on Chevron, invest in employees...they are doing more for less and still making pre-covid wages! What is the incentive for employees to do more for the company? Keeping the workforce held down...
Silently quitting?
How many people at TR have already silently quit? The amount of people who do absolutely nothing is amazing. I personally know of 2 people who are double dipping—been working another full time job for months whilst still collecting a TR paycheck. There are probably many, many more people doing this as well!
Gone are the days I enjoyed my job
I keep asking myself if I actually like this job anymore. The answer keeps changing and not in a good direction. The work itself is fine, but everything around it is draining. I can't remember the last time I felt excited to start the day.
I wish people would stop saying they wish they were laid off
I nearly blew up at a coworker yesterday over this. If you want to leave so badly, then quit. Don't tell me and other people you wish you were laid off after we've watched so many excellent workers lose their jobs and seen how devastated they were over it this week. Read the room, people.
Enough with cuts already
Wouldn't surprise me if people start putting up a "Days since last layoff" posters on their walls. It's been that kind of year.
Pie eating contest for the corporate slaves
What a day for Dell! they subjected the entire sb in round rock to a pie eating contest like the Mandingo fights from Django unchained. while they put the entire sales force on a draw. MD would've walked in like a plantation master and started throwing his coins at us like beggars
Forced attrition
Well, their plan is working. Over the last month two of my most talented colleagues have left for other firms. As predicted by every study, the forced attrition is working through departures of the most talented. The only folks being left behind are those that cannot leave, the CVX cultists, and the unhireable (which we have so so so many of). It’s like watching a company rot before your very eyes…
Open Letter To Leadership
An Open Letter to Shane O'Kelly, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors of Advance Auto Parts
From one of the thousands of leaders in the field.
Today, another respected leader is gone in RVA.
Whether you agree with the decision or not, field leaders across the company are asking the same question:
Have we reached the point where a Vice President's, DMs', GM's, TM's career can be defined by Project Pack sales?
If that perception is true, then we have lost sight of what is actually wrong with this company.
I honestly don't know what's more disappointing.
The previous leadership team that many employees believed focused on corporate initiatives while the business continued to deteriorate...
Or the current leadership team that appears to believe Advance Auto Parts can fight its way back by demanding more Project Packs, more attachments, more scorecards, and more pressure.
This isn't a turnaround strategy.
It's a distraction.
Selling more Project Packs will not fix years of declining market share, inconsistent inventory, operational challenges, technology issues, staffing shortages, customer frustration, or decades of strategic mistakes made far above the store level.
Those problems weren't created by Store Managers.
They weren't created by General Managers.
They weren't created by District Managers.
They weren't created by Vice Presidents.
Yet somehow, the people closest to the customer continue to carry the burden.
Every quarter there's another initiative.
Another metric.
Another conference call.
Another dashboard.
Another leader gone.
Meanwhile, the fundamental questions remain unanswered.
Why do we continue to lose experienced leaders?
Why do we continue to replace homegrown talent with outsiders who don't understand our culture?
Why does it feel like accountability flows only downward?
And where is the Board of Directors in all of this?
At what point does the Board stop measuring PowerPoint presentations and start asking why so many dedicated field leaders have lost confidence in the direction of this company?
The people in the stores are not asking for miracles.
We're asking for leadership.
Real leadership.
Leadership that listens before it mandates.
Leadership that fixes broken systems instead of creating new scorecards.
Leadership that values people more than weekly KPI reports.
Most of us have dedicated years—some, decades—of our lives to Advance Auto Parts.
We have missed birthdays.
Worked hurricanes.
Opened stores before sunrise.
Closed them after dark.
Worked weekends.
Covered vacancies.
Helped struggling stores.
Trained future leaders.
We stayed because we believed in this company.
We still do.
But belief alone cannot carry a company forward.
If today's events have taught us anything, it's this:
Fear does not inspire performance.
Pressure does not create loyalty.
And no company has ever KPI'd its way back to greatness.
Advance Auto Parts deserves better.
Its customers deserve better.
Its shareholders deserve better.
And most importantly...
Its people deserve better.
A Concerned Advance Auto Parts Leader

What does it say about a manager who does not partake in the Truist anniversary celebrations for his/her direct reports? Is this business as usual at Truist or a symptom of undesirability within the management ranks?
Bonus cut!!!
My manager finally allowed me to talk to HR about a salary increase seeing as I had taken on a lot more responsibility and staff under me.
HR has told me I can have a 7% salary bump but my bonus will be cut by 5%
I’ve not had an increase in 2 years but I’m in two minds. The monthly increase is ok, not good but the bonus cut is terrible. But the way the company was a going will we even get another bonus with the debt they are going to have to pay off.
It pretty much feels they are telling me they either accept it or stay on where I am. FYI I’m not on contract
Has anyone else been thru this process lately?
I’m confused.
Soliciting to keep 401k at WF
Laid off last year found a new job but didn’t update LinkedIn for about 90 days. Updated it this week and today get a message ( solicitation) congratulations on your new job ( listing company by name) and asking me to talk to WF about rolling over my 401k. The ba--s!! You treat people like cr-p, have rolling lay offs for years , no empathy for the impact on people and then turn around and solicit me. Actually WTF. I realize it is not the fault of the individual advisor but who came up with this idea. Let’s solicit people who gave decades to this company and we treated them like trash. Yes, maybe they will keep their 401k rollover with us so we can continue to profit off them. The company no longer has a moral center. Anyone else have this happen? Also if you didn’t want me around anymore - why are you looking at my LinkedIn. Creepy
