Do P4 lead software engineers need to give 1 month notice?

Do we have any indication on how the layoffs will be structured? Just today? Weekly? Daily? Who knows?

In Benefitfocus subsidiary, people were told they are being laid off effective June 15. They are being told this news less than a month after a previous layoff took effect on April 15 and work moved to Voya India and to Philippines.

Any dates heard yet?

The Camden school district is undergoing a major restructuring. One hundred employees, including the entire central office, received layoff notices. These job eliminations will take effect on June 30. Some affected staff may reapply for newly defined roles. The district attributes these cuts to financial pressures and declining enrollment.

Cboe Global Markets is eliminating approximately 20% of its global workforce. This restructuring aims to concentrate resources on core exchange businesses. The reduction combines earlier initiatives with the latest organizational realignment. Affected employees received notices on Friday. Eligible U.S. and Canadian employees are also offered a voluntary retirement option. This move is expected to save Cboe $20 to $25 million in 2026.

I saw in another post that 30% of OI employees would be impacted. Doesn't seem that way. Anyone know if they can give you notice on 5/1 vs. today?

It's posted in the WARN NOTICE that Cigna was going to do lay offs on the 29th yesterday. The next date is May 20th what a Mother's day gift!!!!!

As a VP, I am required to give 30 days notice to keep RSU and be eligible for rehire. I currently work in controls (second line of defense) but will be joining another competitor bank as an WIM client Advisor.
The last thing I need is ~30 days of no pay due to being let go by WF soon after giving my 30 days notice. What are the chances I will be let go soon after giving 30 days notice?

Verizon has (Never) in its' history done a layoff in June.

Normally, a Verizon layoff happens each year during April, and/or October.

If it does (actually) happen, May 7th would be the date; mentioned in the other post.

If you are a bank employee, either get to the office close to 9am local time or get ready to be escorted out by being in the office early. Notice period is tomorrow.

Last day of notice is 4/25. I assumed final paycheck (before severance begins) would be on the 5/1 payroll day. I received my direct deposit today which looks like it was my regular bi-weekly pay plus unused PTO (I am in a State that it must be paid out). Any idea why? Will severance begin with next weeks pay on 5/1?

Got a position at another bank and about to give my 60 days notice. While I expect to work during my entire 60 day notice period, I was curious how non-working notice periods are decided and if there's a chance I will not have to work some/all of my notice period.

VP's (P4's) are required to give 30 days notice. Not sure if this is 30 calendar days (~4 weeks) or 30 business days (~6 weeks). Can someone clarify?

Are you expected to work the two weeks notice or not? I start a new job in a week, but I don't want to not give notice if I can avoid it. Not that I'd want to return to Staples, but you never know what might happen, so I'd like not to burn any bridges if possible.

Illinois Central School Bus will close three facilities in Illinois. Over 250 employees will be laid off across these sites. Lost contracts are cited as the reason for these closures. Layoffs are scheduled to occur between May and June. A law firm is investigating potential violations of the WARN Act regarding notice periods.

I have a horrible manager, she's been pure evil since day one.

I've had it and I want to quit. I know she'll want me to transition mountains of work I am doing for her but I'd be delighted if I can just leave. There is nobody else to transition this except to her, and that will be torture in itself as I know what she will put me through.

So, is a 2wk notice a requirement or just a professional curtesy?

Hearing rumors that the notice period has been reduced from 60 days to 30 days. No official update from Aramco on this however. Can anyone confirm? Has there been an official communication? Does it apply to all expats/Grade codes?

If this reflects a change to contract, doesn't this need to be communicated?

The Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District is notifying staff about potential future layoffs. These reductions are for the fiscal year 2027 budget. More positions may be at risk if towns do not approve the budget. The School Committee approved a $59.85 million operating budget. Wilbraham has supported the budget, but Hampden's decision is pending.

Cargill is planning to lay off about five percent of its workforce. An estimated 8,000 layoffs will occur across the board. Approximately 475 in-person and remote jobs will be cut at the company’s Minnetonka headquarters. Affected workers will be notified this week, with terminations beginning in February.
