Fortrex will cease operations at the Lexington, Nebraska plant. This follows the termination of its contract with Tyson Foods. The decision impacts 139 Fortrex employees. Operations will end on January 20, 2026. Eligible employees can transfer to other Fortrex locations.

Regal Rexnord Corp. plans to close its facility in Cudahy. This closure will result in approximately 70 employee layoffs. The company filed a notice with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Layoffs are scheduled to begin around June 5 and conclude by June 30. Affected employees will not qualify for bumping rights.

Hudson Regional Health issued layoff notices to nearly 1,000 workers. These notices affect employees at Bayonne University Hospital. The layoffs are effective starting June 29. A company spokesman stated the notices are procedural. They are tied to an ownership and license transfer.

Like many of you, I got my notice earlier this morning. The attached paperwork said my last day on the books is 4/10, however I was expecting a 60 day notice due out of Redwood Shores to the WARN Act, but I am considered a remote employee. Is anyone else in this boat? Do you think Oracle is getting around the CA WARN act somehow ?
The wording is a bit vague, "you will remain an oracle employee until 4/10" and "Your benefits will continue through 4/10".
Given that ICs fill out pay slips, I'm unsure if this means I am being paid until 4/10, or my benefits are active until then.
NJ WARN is 90 days but remote employees is a grey area.. But some remote employees in WA state got Jun 1 as the last day.
NJ needs 50 employees to trigger the law and all layoffs across the whole NJ state is covered and layoffs within 30 days.

Summit Funding is laying off 163 employees. These layoffs are effective May 17. The reason for these terminations is the company's pending sale to CrossCountry Mortgage. I wish they gave us more notice before this layoff, maybe 6 months. That would give us time to get our affairs in order and enough time to prove our worth to our respective VPs.
Big cuts in Calgary and the field came and went. Some folks were put on four months working notice after close of the Keyera transaction close- which is supposedly going to be April 1 2026. Excellent morale destroyer! Way to go Wi---e!!!

An AFSCME local accused a New Jersey hospital. The union claims the hospital violated state law. This violation concerns the abrupt closure of most of its facility. The facility closure happened in November. The hospital allegedly failed to provide required notice.

Guys, there are plans to layoff ‘x’ amount every single quarter. It may be all at the start of the Q or it may be spread out per month. Either way, each quarter is slated to let go a certain amount of people.
I’d love to tell you to breathe a sigh of relief but this will continue for the rest of the year.
Letting go 1000 in one day or spread out over a few months is still 1000 people let go. So don’t think just because its just a handful here and there that its all slowing down.
