there are layoffs every year usually before end of q1 and early q4 before the US holidays. q1 layoffs are always to tighten budgets after year end numbers and jan month end numbers. this year obviously layoffs are much more than just that but expect... — read more
More RIFS in January
Confirmed for Digital come January. They've stripped this organization down to nothing, and are so incompetent they can't put any meaningful roadmap or plans into place. This place is truly disgusting and leadership are cowards.
KB Meeting
Is the main responsibility of KB hosting those town halls? It feels like she does them every two weeks. Do they have nothing better to do with the state of the company now?
Next year budgets = more layoffs
Getting less money in your budget next year? Should be no surprise, but expect more or less in the development world because of it. It’s a simple formula that the budget pays for salaries and if you have less money than you will have less... — read more
Warning: Check your last check. They did not pay my entire PTO out
Heads up. If you're in a state that makes companies pay PTO after termination, look at your final check. They paid roughly 1/10th my actual PTO and calculated the hours wrong. Email them now before you sign any severance.
This is exactly FIS
"If your company isn’t keeping up with AI, let me give you the real reason: You don’t have enough Jacks You know exactly who “Jack” is: the builder, the doer, the one who actually ships things while everyone else schedules another meeting to... — read more
If you need a laugh today, check out the title that Bob Toohey is listing on LinkedIn: “Business Builder”.
I could suggest a few different titles for him.
Cost cuts are everywhere
Layoffs, lean projects, slow attrition, all of it stretching into FY26. Budgets are down across teams, and even if you survive the cuts, raises and bonuses are going to be miniscule or won't even happen. Being kept on doesn’t mean things look... — read more
Why are people so convinced more cuts are coming?
What did I miss?
Negotiate a Better Severance Package
I was able to negotiate a better severance package. The company recently bumped up its severance fund to $205 million, so theres more room to work. I got extra compensation and more months of outplacement services. Definitely try negotiating. They're... — read more
RIF’s today?
Someone posted that today (12/3) is a RIF day. But I haven’t heard that. Are any of those infamous 15 minutes meetings been scheduled?
December and January RIF Dates
Anyone know what are the dates for RIFs in December (if any) and January?
It’s like a train station here
People leaving in droves. I don’t think this place will hold together much longer. The whole vibe truly feels like prep for a sale.
What areas were hit last layoffs
Were any in the reseller alliance channel? I have heard of a couple there. Is this area going away?
Running on fumes every single day
Most teams here feel stretched thin, and it shows in how tired everyone looks. Changes keep rolling out without enough people to support them, so the workload lands on whoever is closest. No one wants to take responsibility, so talks drag on forever... — read more
They have to be preparing for a sell.
That's it. That's the post.
Compliance training … ha
It’s interesting going through the financial crimes compliance training. Bob Toohey has definitely violated conflicts of interest and nepotism/cronyism. Probably a bunch of others too.
I hate this
I hate having to look for a job at 55. I have a huge problem with interviews because I can completely tank them every single time, no matter how much I prepare. The thought of having to face another one makes my stomach twist and my anxiety spike... — read more
AI
Isn't it just pathetic that anything they ever mention in these town hall meetings is AI? Who cares about AI and their silly agents. FIS dropped 24% in 12 months, they are doing massive RIFs, morale is very very low and all they can do is wear silly... — read more
RIF selection process
The criteria for every RIF is usually different. It starts out with getting a list using some generic criteria. They do this for legal reasons, so they can legally justify that the RIF applied to a group of people and someone was not being singled... — read more
FIS is under investigation for violating the WARN Act in Bellevue, Washington

How do they select individuals?
Is there any theory or knowledge as to how victims are selected. Presumably a role has to become redundant and then individuals in that role are selected based on length of service, performance and so forth.
Severance Expense
Looking at the FIS quarterly report, FIS has paid out $205 million in severance this year compared to $34 million for the same period last year. Also there is a comment, "The Company continues to evaluate its organizational structure and expects... — read more

Stock down
Oh, look at that. The stock price went down. Again. Color me surprised. A company which RIFs its staff for non-personal performance reasons is a company which has failed. A company which RIFs its staff to increase the stock price is even worse -... — read more
Can’t say I was thrilled with the job
But I’d been trying to find something else for months, and nothing ever came through. Now I’m laid off, and the panic is setting in. Wishing everyone who lost their job yesterday the best of luck, I think we’re all going to need it.
Does FIS allow unused vacation days to roll over to the next year?
Hi everyone. Current TSYS employee here. I am wondering if FIS rolls over your unused vacation days to the following year. What's the policy around it? Because currently in GPN, we have to use it in the same year or lose it.
Anyone able to negotiate severance?
Part of the 9/19 bloodbath and got laid off without notice. Aren't we supposed to get 60 day notice due to the federal WARN act? WARN violations charge $500 per day of violation. We should be getting an extra $30,000 to our severance.
I'll never get this
When will they realize that getting rid of the best people is only harming the company in the long run? The value of institutional knowledge can't be overstated and they just keep throwing it away like it's nothing.
FIS/GP/TSYS = Huge Dumpster Fire

Any idea if the layoffs will be done today?
Or is there more to come? Best of luck to everyone impacted.
November 19th has been confirmed
November 19th has been confirmed as a Wednesday blood bath. Then later in the week, or the next week for a 2nd RIF round. I was told not just US staff either. Bumping this from @we+1k9zcd9zv for important info.
FiS Global no longer on Fishbowl?
I check here and Fishbowl for what is potentially going on. Looks the FIS Global bowl is no longer. Any ideas how that happened as it was very busy?
Crickets
Thankfully, it seems like this thread has died for now. Someone mentioned layoffs for this week in the past. That looks to be wrong as it's pretty quiet around here. That's a good thing I'd say!
Layoffs before the TSYS people come in?
Hello everyone, Did anyone hear anything about planned layoffs for the people joining from TSYS?
