Coding Monkeys

When coding monkeys are given the reign to run the show, the audiences (customers) suffer.

Stupid Enterprise Tech bean counters decided to eliminate the whole technical product manager (TPM) role because they couldn't tell the good ones from the bad ones. Now we're in the same quagmire of mostly bad engineering "leaders" sprinkled with a few good ones.

A place of incompetents.

R2B transition team in shambles

The R2B leadership is more lost than Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles in a fun house. I have never seen this level of incompetence and desperation from a leadership team. Rumors are circulating about significant cuts to senior management and underperforming account managers, along with the possibility that whatever remains of R2B will be merged into B2B.

I can’t say I feel particularly bad for the bootlickers. A lot of people spent their time kissing the rings instead of building skills that translate outside the organization. Now some of them may be about to find out the hard way what the real world thinks their $100K corporate title is worth.

Project unity celebration

Just seen there was a celebration of project unity in the UK with Shannon Bell. I am not sure this migration could have been anymore of a sh-t show. I previously spent 30% of my week chasing approvals (that in 4 years I have never not had one approved or declined for my error). I now spend 95% of my week on approvals, but yeah let's celebrate the sh-t show, senior people should lose their jobs for this incompetence.

Mutual of America - A Sinking Feeling

The Mutual of America culture is gonna experience a dramatic shift next year & the biggest disappointment will bee after spending millions of $$$ & jettisoning 175 employees who understand how mutual of america works, they will be replaced by scabs who will make a boat load to mistakes & many of those errors will sink client relationships. TIAA has undergone major problems shifting to AX-Centure. See what employees at TIAA are posting on their own Layoff Board—-

“Accenture hasn't been living up to expectations and it's proven by the multiple project delays. Team synergy is non-existent. Accenture underestimated the TIAA ecosystem and the system complexity to take the business to the next level. Valuable TIAA people are gone, while Accenture swaps out their people due to incompatibility or incompetence. Accenture spends more time on PowerPoint slides and meetings that nothing gets done. Don't forget the 2 year contract for the rebadged Accenture employees is ending this year. A lot of issues with little resolution, let's hope AI can fix it.”

BILLING FAILURES AT CES: THEY CAN’T EVEN SEND THE BILL

Consulting & Engineering Services is a masterclass in absolute incompetence. Can't consult. Can't engineer. Can't sell. Can't even bill a client properly. Then there’s Ramnut the lead "engineer". Can't do engineering because he is not an engineer but a low grade accountant. Can't do accounting because he appears to have learned accounting from a calculator with no batteries. Can't understand tax laws. Can't get an invoice sent out correctly to save his life.

Mutual of America - Castaway from LaLa

It’s all about the money. It’s not about skilled labor. You get what you don’t pay for. TIAA-CREF’s recent experience says it all from The Layoff TIAA Board:

I was just about to come to this site and make a post about my first experience with Accenture. Our TIAA FTE team is partnering with two teams that are completely made up of Accenture resources, and holy smokes, these people are completely incompetent and useless! We’ve met with two Accenture teams that are supposed to be working together on our project, and neither are aware of what each team is doing, completely unaware of how to tech solution, and any time you ask a question, it becomes a “takeaway” that they NEVER respond to.
Ten calls so far since the beginning of the PI, and we’ve literally done nothing but listen to the Accenture teams argue with each other about who is supposed to own things on their teams.
All those KT meeting with Accenture and they learned nothing.
RKT is going to sink because of these people.

What a cr-p company

Right when you think it cannot get more ridiculous they prove you wrong. I dont want to quit in this market but the moment I find anything comparable I am out of this stinker. My manager is still asking us for project updates like she thinks anything matters. Such an incompetent woman in tech.

Another week, another completely wrong presence report.

How is this STILL happening? This should be one of the easiest things imaginable to get right... you’ve only had YEARS to figure it out…. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the incompetence.

We’re being told five-day RTO is important enough to monitor and enforce, while the system they’re using to monitor it can’t even produce an accurate report.

And we’re supposed to trust this data enough for it to impact employees? What a fu-k!ng joke.

Gbg

This garbage company and its garbage M&A under existing leadership have destroyed it. If this company... and its incompetent corporate development team under even more incompetent leadership and a clueless board... could evaluate opportunities half as well as its peers, maybe it wouldn’t be in this situation. Instead, they have a bunch of unqualified people running business development under GM and Skippy, who themselves apparently can’t add, subtract, multiply, or divide.

An Oracle Executive is Begging

Shame on you guys. I recently happened to interview a person from Oracle. He was a director in Oracle and was laid off last September. I initially rejected the resume saying big NO for Oracle but had to pick the resume due to strong recommendation.

He claimed to possess tech skills on paper and was able communicate clearly on his projects. Tech gap is ok. The real gap was his financial and strategical thinking. He doesn't seems to have futuristic vision and seems maintained his project in status quo. He doesn't have clear budgeting knowledge. Later figured out he was just running the show with his India team and some engineers which was taken over by his another peer.

Seems lots of managers and directors are hanging around in Oracle like this without basic management skills and a set of people. btw I am an ex-oracle pmts but in senior position now.

Toxic leadership at Dell

Why does Dell insist on laying off good employees, but keeping incompetent leaders? Can someone please explain that? It makes no sense.

Some of these leaders, especially in ISG, have no background or experience in the very discipline they are managing. They have no idea what they're doing. They fail at everything they touch. Yet somehow, they are safe while their hard-working employees are let go.

What is it? Nepotism? Favoritism? DEI? Or is it just the simple fact that our executive leaders are also clueless and have no idea about how incompetent these clowns (Directors, VPs, SVPs) really are?

One big reason why Dell is failing is there has never been any accountability at the leadership level. They fail, then they spin up a new project, then they fail again. Rinse and repeat. Dell is in a downward death spiral because of it.

The company needs to be sold to survive…

but that will never happen while PK is alive. Hopefully his son is paying enough attention and cashes out once he gets the chance pater post-mortem. A new corporate overlord would fire all of the clowns in the current LT. They have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.

Look at the latest product. Its pathetic. So ugly and out of touch it’s like a parody of pseudo athletic wear. Baggy, shapeless sweatpants and hoodies that Champion would be embarrassed to sell. And still plugging those ugly ill-fitting boomer dunks like that’s cool.

ACG is godda-n laughable. No one even passably interested in outdoor sports would wear that garbage. Button-down collared shirts for trail running? It’s like a terrible joke, but they’re serious.

Sell it to Hoka or Amazon.

How to know your being let go..

In the old days the first sign you were about to get a call from HR was not being able to log into your computer.
If that is still the signal then everyone in aero is on the chopping block.
The number of access issues and the rumors, workarounds, and tin foil hat superstitions about getting to any random IT run resource is unbelievable. I would suspect an attack but that fails the “simplest logical cause” test…. Incompetence

I guess the way to know you are about to be fired is to look at your department. Honaero IT? Pack up.

7 million active H1B visas since 2015!!

USCIS reported over 7 million active H1B visas since 2015!
This is a shame!!!
GM should stop hiring H1B, OPT, H4 and CPT visas.
The amount of incompetence I’m exposed to on a daily basis at work in quite frightening.
We have more qualified and hardworking locals who can get these jobs.

A breakdown of my Oracle managers over 15 years….

Middle Aged white male. No tech skills. No leadership skills. Incompetent and ill advised. Lap dog of VP.
Middle Aged middle eastern woman. No tech skills. She lasted 3 mos in our unit after some type of lying to senior management.
Middle Aged middle eastern man. He had skills. He was competent. He was complimentary. He used my work, commended me on it and than stiffed me for a raise when I got promoted. Not even 1%. Said “talk to HR”.
Middle Aged black woman. No tech skills. Really no computer skills at all. Very much delegated. Loud talker. Tried to be a people person, but that was hard when you’re discriminated against other races.
Middle Aged asian woman. Zero tech skills. Got her job cause she was friends with VP. Had no idea what the role entailed. Literally just stole a check. Did nothing but give friends roles and get friends promoted. Left Oracle to work for start-up.
Middle Aged white male. Came from acquisition. No real tech skills. Only knew the one app that we bought his company for. Totally arrogant. Thought he was more important than everyone and everything. I was light years ahead of him, but our GBU promoted new acquired people over people who had been there. Put him in his place several times and finally was able to get away from him. He actually got promoted. Totally incompetent.
Middle Aged white male. Got promoted to his team. He was on my old team and actually came to Oracle about 11 years after I did. Like many other managers, towed the company line. Absolutely no tech skills. No real skills other than being a yes man and not being healthy. Got promoted to his team, about to accept offer and then ask about the raise and he said there was no raise. “VP wouldn’t approve it….” Sorry, I can’t help you.

On my last day at Oracle, I scheduled an email to go to the VP, my manager and the stiff director of our department. Telling them all what I thought. For the VP, I broke her off a huge piece. She was a lousy VP for many years, stealing money, overbilled the federal govt, stole, and was an even lousier human being. I said, “how pathetic of a person are you to not even give me a 1% raise after I have put in 15 years at this company for you?...you are truly pathetic….you don’t care about anyone but yourself and your little circle.

That woman will leave a company she worked at for like 40 years with no friends and no one who will be sorry she is gone. In fact, many have a number of interesting stories on how she “climbed” her way to the top.

It’s sad. It really is never about the product or the processes…it’s solely about the people and those that are morally and mentally corrupt and should not be around other human beings as they are a direct threat to their well-being.

Practice Advisory Consulting

Why, as a leader in the field, am I now having to do the work of this team? The math is strange - I generate revenue, the firm allocates my revenue for this home office work yet I’m the one doing their work. From what I hear - the GP running it is inadequate and the directors are incompetent and have created a toxic environment where their staff left their area leaving us to do their roles. How are they still employed?

They're going to destroy the company like this

They keep promoting young, inexperienced people into management positions while the people with years of experience and real qualifications get passed over. So we end up losing our best talent, and replacing them with people who don't know what they're doing most of the time. Solid business strategy. /s

Clowns, Jokers, and Jesters

Fiserv is the most inept and incompetent company on the planet. If you want to watch a circus, it’s all here. My advice is don’t let anyone at this organization lower your worth. Stand up for what you believe and don’t settle for anything less.

Why does CFS get away with only two days in office?

Does Sammy Sun not believe that CFS needs to “collaborate” as much as CUSA?

What happened to “One Canon”, “Transform as One”, “Lead as One”, “Grow as One”, etc….Whatever regurgitated slogans they come up with the word one in it.

This company is filled with hypocrisy and incompetency. They should make CFS come in to Burlington on Thursdays & Fridays. Simple fix.

But oh no, boo hoo, they don’t want to make them come in on Fridays. Or maybe, Wednesdays are to be designated as the big pow wow day for CFS & CUSA to get together to sing “Kumbaya, My Lord” around the campfire and do the Limbo Rock?

Whether it’s Google, office consolidations, pricing…this company botches everything.

Why does IBM hire and retain so many leaders & mgrs who are clearly unqualified

Why does IBM hire and retain so many leaders & mgrs who are clearly unqualified for the technical areas they oversee?

Many have no relevant experience, and their lack of competence is evident in their decisions...

I just do not get it.

No wander we have problems.

The one constant !!!

Hey everyone. Through all the myriad of changes at AT&T since John Stanks reign of incompetence he is still underperforming terribly. His ego has him delusional and he speaks like he is the smartest person to walk the earth. The company will flourish when he leaves. John you haven’t been doing well !

ABSOLUTELY RESIGN!

I know you are feeling sad and tired. Exhausted from having to actually do work. It’s okay, that’s what a resignation does. It helps eliminate the toxic waste in a company and allows you to go to other publishers and su-k the life out of them. If you can’t make your numbers, resign. If the pressure is just too much, resign. If you’re just plain old incompetent, resign. Resigning is good for everyone - you don’t even need a new job, resign so you can use your full set of high quality skills and apply them to landing your next sale - making your future employer believe that you can deliver. Happy resigning!

How low can OpenText leadership go?

As expected, my LinkedIn feed for the last 18 hours has been filled with former colleagues announcing they had been kicked to the curb by OpenText.

But in a new sick twist, a number of remaining employees have taken to LinkedIn to crow how they were promoted over the past two days. The posts all read the same as if they were told or highly encouraged to post and what to post.

In addition, there were posts (on the same day as their colleagues being dumped) celebrating the addition of new employees.

There is no doubt that ELT and HR have orchestrated this to cover up the nasty truth that a number of talented, hard working, productive people were sacrificed to almighty Canadian dollar to make amends for the sins of Tom Jenkins as he leads this company to ruin.

OpenText under the leadership of Jenkins, the clueless BoD, Bell, Muhi, and the rest of the clownshow ELT has become classless and hopeless.

Unwittingly, OT is showing what it really means when they say the company is "Canadian by design" ... Incompetent, fractured and losing relevance.

Slowing Agent Changes

I laughed out loud when I watched KC's video message last week saying SF is now decided to slow the rollout of the Agent contract changes. Just another evidence of the incompetence of this executive leadership team. Sounds like someone didn't do their homework or anticipate how badly agents were getting sc--wed. #eggonface

Lackluster Backgrounds

Ajay from Oracle and Adobe? I guess we like dinosaur companies that move at a glacial pace and nickel and dime their customers for legacy products running on fumes from the glory days.

Panos was a Infra Leader? He had no experience leading entire eng orgs of backend, API, frontend teams. At best he's a SRE/Data Center guy, no wonder.

Tuckness started as a Five9 intern and every 1 or 2 years got promoted? He could not possibly have been that good.

JDR was at Skype? You know that team who's own company replaced it (Teams) because the product went downhill so quickly.

Employee Benefits HR

Why does no one in our benefits know anything about our benefits since they closed the Operation Centers? Any time I call with a question they don't know. I want to retire at 55 and they can't tell me if I do if I can start withdrawals from 401 with no penalty. One person told me yes i can. Another said no, and that person should not have told me that and its up to the IRS. Wtf? Never seen such incompetence. They're only job is to know our benefits inside and out. What a joke.

Working for Dell is Embarrassing

All my friends and former engineering colleagues laugh at Dell.
Now, before all you nepotistic so-called "leaders" jump on and say "Fine, go someplace else then..." let me get ahead of that and simply say, Go FK Yourself!! You're ki-ling this company with your incompetence.
