A few people in my general group (Risk) have been put on PIPs. Is it safe to assume that they will be laid off or fired? Will they get severance? This is a new tactic in my area. How does this process play out?

Severance
Just got displaced today. Anyone know how severance is determined?
Where did severance policy go?
Any clue where the “severance policy” went? There used to be a laid out plan of what that looks like and now it seems like there are updates to the HR policies, but none that layout the specifics.
Laid off in treasure mgmt
I was a product manager laid off with no notice. The severance package su-ks. Plus given less than 60 days of pay until I'm officially laid off from company. I think they are trying to get rid of Remote employees.
Severance
For those that were laid off yesterday how many weeks pay were included in your severance package ?
Help me out please
I work in downstream, was given a date for severance in april due to reorg. Managers said I could post out internally but if I’m not selected. I will receive my severance. I was out on fmla leave last week, then I get the news today. I was escorted out. Is it normal to have gcc, phone, laptop, GI card and facility access taken? How would I be able to apply internally? Or was it a way of saying you’re fired? I have a lot of people depending on me. Just looking for help. 36 year old. Been with shell 7 years going on 8, not no more it looks like. Lol
Curious if anyone knows difference between the the VRP severerance pkg and the layoff severance
As a person who took the past VRP and received 2 wks of pay per year of service, (so a year of pay for me), well subsidized cobra and bonus, I am curious what the terms are for those laid off. Is it a similar package after being paid through March or whenever? How long is the severance pay and other items.? Thanks for any info and so sorry for those affected. I definitely hadn’t planned on leaving this soon. Really loved my job
Severance and rating
I have heard that HR does not like people who have 2 inconsistent meets in a row, but if 2 year end IMs are separated by a meets at midyear, would that make a difference… And if so, how?
Bankruptcy announced - Layoffs started in Marietta
I can't believe they waited until the end of the day to start the walkouts. 3 so far when they got to me. I hope they can actually afford the severance they offered.
Severance for Canada long tenured
This is trending right now and I heard many 121s were already sent. So wondering if you’d share what severance packages look like in Canada, Toronto based if possible!
Thank you
When expect to get everything promised from severance package
Got severance last November, it said unused vacation, service pay per year, and performance based bonus payout PAYG. So far only got the first two, not PAYG. When to expect to get it? Will it be paid ? If not, where to file claim?
One of 3 folks I know were laid off today
They gave us 90 days to find an internal role. This period is with base pay and benefits. Then 3 months severance package.
Severance Packages, DOL, and older employees
All I have heard regarding those packages were people had a 24 hour response time or it was being withdrawn. Is that true? There are also 21 - 45 day acceptance of severance packages in the US depending on your status. Are those being violated?
This company has outsourced so many jobs to India. Are they really true employees or are they Indian owned and operated with agreements to label them as employees? Is that why it takes them weeks and months to fully terminate them or the 5 managers? The US employee numbers and the high number of Indian employees are a nudge to contact whistleblower portals in the federal government to offshore employees and save money.
For the people over 40, these RIF's are considered group layoffs. It does not matter if you were terminated in groups from the same team. We you given a list of all terminated employees, their ages, title, and any other?
Has anybody contacted DOL or any other wage and labor law representatives regarding the terminations, older people, people with disabilities, offshoring to India, and anyone else?
I would have assumed there would have been audits by now as FIS is breaking up the terminations to bypass federal and public reporting by now but have not heard of any.
How many people have been chased away by the RTO push already?
Since that seems to be the goal. I wonder if it worked as intended, or if people, given the job market, are just trying hard to accommodate. I'm in the latter group. RTO is needlessly time-consuming, expensive, and it’s hard to see any reasonable explanation beyond pressuring people to quit. Coming into the office has made me less efficient, and nobody on my team is even nearby anyway. I’ve decided to go along with it for now while I look for another job. In this game of chicken, I'll let them be forced to lay me off. After so many years, I'm not leaving without a severance.
W2 and Severance Portal
Separated March 2025 and haven't tried accessing the portal in a while, and now I'm getting access errors. I can dig around and figure out who to call, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues and has found someone helpful. TIA.

From the NLRB (Feb 21, 2023): "Board Rules that Employers May Not Offer Severance Agreements Requiring Employees to Broadly Waive Labor Law Rights"
"Today’s decision, in contrast, explains that simply offering employees a severance agreement that requires them to broadly give up their rights under Section 7 of the Act violates Section 8(a)(1) of the Act. The Board observed that the employer’s offer is itself an attempt to deter employees from exercising their statutory rights, at a time when employees may feel they must give up their rights in order to get the benefits provided in the agreement."
Severance reduced again?
Anyone have legitimate knowledge if they'll cut bank severance packages again this year?
Timing of Severance Contract/Agreement
I was RIFd a couple of weeks ago. Non working notice until mid to late March.
I did receive an email outlining the rules of my notice period and it said I would receive a “separation package via Docusign” as soon as administratively possible, but I have not received it yet
Can anyone out there who has been RIFd before me, perhaps last year, advise of how long it was before you received your severance package via Docusign?
Current Severance Package??
Does anyone know the current Severance package in the US?
There’s no need to leave. Take the severance.
I get why leaving makes sense, but there’s likely severance coming, and it could be enough to give you some real breathing room. maybe even allow you to take 2026 off.
Trapped in a nightmare
I've never hated a job more. The toxicity is off the charts. If they announced layoffs, I'd volunteer. The severance would be the only good thing this place ever gave me. I need out, by any means necessary.
Layoffs, RTO, no transparency...
It all points to one thing. They're creating a work environment so toxic that many of us will decide to leave instead of suffer through it. It's all planned. Why pay severance if you don't have to? Make it unbearable for folks to work and they'll leave for free. A--holes.
Severance packages by IC level?
Anyone else an IC3 or IC4 got a severance? Curious. I heard 2 months…
Update on our organization
I want to let you know that we're making additional organizational changes across Amazon that will impact some of our teammates. I recognize this is difficult news, which is why I’m sharing what’s happening and why.
As I shared in October, we've been working to strengthen our organization by reducing layers, increasing ownership, and removing bureaucracy. While many teams finalized their organizational changes in October, other teams did not complete that work until now.
The reductions we are making today will impact approximately 16,000 roles across Amazon, and we're again working hard to support everyone whose role is impacted. That starts with offering most US-based employees 90 days to look for a new role internally (timing will vary internationally based on local and country level requirements). Then, for teammates who are unable to find a new role at Amazon or who choose not to look for one, we'll provide transition support including severance pay, outplacement services, health insurance benefits (as applicable), and more.
While we’re making these changes, we’ll also continue hiring and investing in strategic areas and functions that are critical to our future. We’re still in the early stages of building every one of our businesses and there’s significant opportunity ahead.
Some of you might ask if this is the beginning of a new rhythm – where we announce broad reductions every few months. That’s not our plan. But just as we always have, every team will continue to evaluate the ownership, speed, and capacity to invent for customers, and make adjustments as appropriate. That’s never been more important than it is today in a world that’s changing faster than ever.
I'm grateful for how our teams continue to deliver – for customers, for each other, and for the incredible things we're building together.
Thank you,
Beth
How can I get laid off?
I want to be on the list, is there a way to make sure of that? I don't want to be fired, though. I want to get severance.
Redeployment Pool…what are the odds?
Is this really a thing or it’s just another way of dragging people’s morale and push you to leave without getting severance? How long are we supposed to continue waiting for the crumbs?
It’s a game and the deck is stacked against you.
All the complaints around severance, PIPS, notices etc…. It’s a mixed bag of confusion on purpose. Designed to frustrate you and have you just walk away and not follow up. Tons of gaslighting, shuffling of meeting times and mixed message. It’s not disorganization, it’s the plan. A meeting invite to “discuss things” , your PIP. You show up and no one else does. Then much later an apology as something more urgent came up that needed attended to so a reschedule is needed. This will happen a time or two. It’s all designed to keep you on edge, stressed so that you’ll leave.
The same applies to the severances. “Any questions, concerns or updates needed just contact this number\email\person etc..” and when you do, no answers, no return calls, no traction. If you’re persistent enough you’ll get somewhere but again, its all be design.
All in all, they just want you to go away with little to no hassle or fuss. Trust me, this is the plan at work. None of it is illegal but certainly pushes the boundaries of the Citi trustworthiness, honesty, yada yada…but they don’t care. It’s the bottom line that matters and the bottom line is that you have to be ran off in order to make up for the lack of the return on investment on AI that was promised to the board. Unfair or not, this is all there is to it.
To all the Good Folks
I recently was RIF after 28 years of service. Can I roll over my severance to an IRA to avoid taxes. At 64 most likely will be treading on a tight budget. God Bless all the Good Folks
Impacted employees- have you heard from HR about severance pkg?
I received notice Wednesday morning that my position was eliminated, it is now Friday night and I have not heard from HR regarding what next steps are. Anyone else in this situation?????
Question for those formerly displaced..
If you were previously displaced, did you get your annual bonus? Or do they find a reason not to give it? I had a “meets” rating at midyear before displaced in Oct. so didn’t get an annual review due to the timing. I met the eligibility cut off because I was employed through September 30, 2025. Thank you.
I would prefer not hearing from anybody just speculating, rather people who have been displaced and can speak on experience.
RSUs for Riffed Employees
I have been carefully watching the status of RSUs due to being riffed. I have a screen shot of RSU units and estimated value at that time. The severance FAQ document Q.33 indicates that RSUs granted in 2023, 2024 and 2025 will pay out at their vested rate in 60-90 days after severance.
WARNING: What is not stated .... is that all your RSU's will be frozen at stock value as of 12/19/2025 (last day of employment). Meaning -- what is distributed (arbitrarily and in the last few weeks) is now where near the estimated vested rate per Fidelty in November or December.
Anyone let go in december get severence offer yet?
Was let go in early December, told I would get an offer the start of January but after calling HR I was told I was still an employee for Jan and would get the offer mid to late Jan but have still not received any email from them and doubt Ill be getting one tomorrow..Anyone in a similar boat get any new info? Thanks.
Involuntary Separation 2026
I am thinking the ISP starts in March? Maybe March 18 to allow 30 days from previous separation? Possible, April.
How to manage Severance
I am getting 22 weeks of severance and I don’t want to lose it. However I may have the ability to come back and am in interviews next week. My last day is 2-6-26. If I ask this new division to wait until the 7 days after I sign my severance to offer me the job, can I keep the severance? I need to work but don’t want to lose the money.
Severance Pay Schedule
Is the severance payout on a different schedule than regular payroll?
Two weeks ago I received my normal paycheck. Last week I was paid again—slightly more than usual—which I believe included my PTO payout. This week should have been a regular pay period, but I haven’t received anything.
My 60-day working period ended last week, and I’m now officially on severance. I just want to understand how the payment timing works going forward.
Any tips on asking to get laid off?
For those who asked to be laid off and got the severance package, can you share how to ask (even though it’s not allowed) and how long it took? Can anyone weigh in on the chances of this happening? Thanks.
Sorry for all the people who were laid off and didn’t want it but hope you’ll find another job which will probably pay better.
Is STIP still happening? (for laid off employees)
If you were laid off you are able to get stip as part of your severance. Is this still happening? Seems like they’re cutting back on everything financially
What is the Battle Damage Assessment (BDA)?
For those who were laid off, condolences. Don't sign anything without examining it carefully or, if you think appropriate, have an attorney review it. For those with long careers, please invoke the Rule of 70 when discussing your severance. It has to do with compensating tenured employees close to retirement age. Whether they honor it or not, it will give them something to consider if it keeps coming up. Be kind to yourselves. When reviewing your resume, make sure that it is in an ATS friendly format, this will make sure that any AI tools being used to filter resumes will see it and forward it for review. Apply for unemployment too. Remember, none of this was your fault. It will continue to happen to those still left on the field. It ain't over.
Cigna/evernorth/express scripts whatever it is this week
Why is everyone not posting what area/department they are in? Why would you owe this company any discretion whatsoever? They don’t/have never cared for their employees. I can’t speak for everyone but at my location Every year it’s something new to stress about.. lay offs, VTO, forced retirement, new laws passing or not passing, no overtime for months at a time, can’t use your PTO for months at a time. They never let us get caught up when we are behind. They will use overtime one week then the next be using VTO and sending people home. They’re laying 2,000 of us off but still actively having job interviews and hiring people? I’d say it’s not a loss at all to be laid off from this place. I’d wait, get laid off, take my severance, then get a better job. If they had any brains at all they would get rid of all their people in charge that are making millions bc they clearly don’t know what the he-l they’re doing. My thoughts go out to all those already laid off and future people. I say get out and day as much info to us as possible. You don’t owe this place anything.
Any real severance data out there yet ?
Curious to hear some early data points on offer vs the original estimates .
