The Genentech Research and Early Development are among the affected groups. This is not a great time to be laid off, so I wish all the best to all the affected folks. I think management has become too trigger-happy when it comes to layoffs and we'll be seeing much more of this before the end of the year.

But knowing how many of our jobs are being offshored - and not just at HCSC - it's a bit hard to feel all that patriotic.

How much trouble am I in? Were there any cuts planned for today?

I heard about someone getting an offer rescinded a week after they accepted it, no explanation given. Is that something that actually happens here often? How are supposed to backfill any positions if this is how candidates are treated?

I'm tired of seeing coworkers turn on each other. We're all in the same boat. The company doesn't care about any of us, so why are we wasting our energy on each other?

For those of you left behind, narcissist Leahy is going to hang on (at least) until the end of the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad. Good luck keeping the lights on while ducking the ever lowering deck of the CDW tractor!

Every applicant is subject to approval. So they can control the numbers regardless of if more or less people applied than anticipated. For them to change the notification date by that much, I think there is something more going on.

At my old Bank, we usually only work half day so we can go out early to celebrate the holidays. I am surprised not to sd an email from any of the managers.
