Just a Thought: The Laid-Off Workers Can Take Over Hughes’ Business
They come from every organization, bringing a wide range of expertise and experience. Together, they could potentially form a new team or company capable of competing for—and even taking—contracts currently held by Hughes.
Can you get laid off while on LOA?
Are there any rules around this? I'm scheduled to come back from my leave of absence in October
LP Liquidation
Does anyone know how long its taking the firm to liquidate LP's after ISP? My last day was July 2 and I still haven't gotten my LP liquidation. Just curious if anyone that had an LP after being ISP'ed can tell me about how long it took to get the liquidation.
I received an invite no lie (west coast)
It's been a pleasure working with you all I had some great times and consider myself an overachiever but these last few months have drained all my energy. I wish everyone the best, specially those that stay behind. Over and out.
Laptop usable after leaving?
If I get LR’d, and don’t return my Cisco laptop will they brick it? Has anyone successfully kept their Mac laptop functioning after removing all the Cisco bloat?

Rumor of Dell layoffs from 6000 to 15000 people.
Go into linkedin and look up:
"Dell's rumored layoffs land on a workforce that never stopped shrinking"
The article talks about a rumored 6000 to 15000 people to be laid off. It's based on rumor and the rumor is that it will be concentrated in ISG Presales and Overlay Sales roles. According to the author, it may be confirmed in direction but not in scale.
200 Park NY
Heard this location is closing in Nov 26'. Can anyone confirm? Bank relocating wealth MGMT and I heard they're getting rid of short term cash/money desk.
Don't fear layoffs
Getting laid off from Truist was the best thing that happened to me. It just took time to see it.
Layoffs will never stop
It's the same everywhere. New people come in at a discount, and people who've been here longer and cost more get pushed out the other side. It's not about skill or loyalty. It's about the spreadsheet. The room only holds so many people, and they've already decided which door you're getting pushed through.
Any PLs here who can share what their decision-making power is re: ISP?
I want to know if direct PLs were given any say in exactly who they let go from their teams. I’m also just curious about the criteria for who stays and who goes in general. Were you told a number or a job title you had to RIF, were you given exact names, was it based on past performance, etc?
My team lost its newest hire (who was honestly great, so I’m bummed for them) plus someone who’d been around for 5-10 years and was admittedly unexpected — unless PLs got to choose.

LAUSD Faces Layoffs After Pay Hike Deal
Los Angeles Unified School District has approved a significant pay increase for its employees, but now faces a substantial deficit. To cover the costs, the district plans to lay off thousands of its newest employees, primarily teachers. This decision is largely driven by California's "last in, first out" (LIFO) layoff law, which prioritizes senior employees. Union leaders negotiated the deal, knowing the implications for younger staff. The district's financial instability has led to county oversight and concerns about mismanagement.

Oracle Announces Further Workforce Reductions
Oracle is initiating another round of layoffs, with some departments facing significant cuts. This move follows substantial investments in AI infrastructure and a previous reduction of 21,000 employees. The company is seeking to complete these cost-saving measures before the second fiscal quarter begins. These actions come as Oracle's debt and lease commitments have grown considerably. The company has also acknowledged AI's role in past job reductions.

Layoffs aug/sept
I have heard of a merger with the PSLs. From 12 to 8 PSLs. This has come with layoffs. Can someone confirm this? What is going on? There is always something happening. I read the other chat saying it could be because of Shannon taking over Jeff.

If my team was already hit, are the rest of us safe?
My manager is MIA, so we never got an all-clear from him.
I've survived dozens of layoff rounds by now in my years here
And it never gets easier. I'm now almost hopeful about getting laid off just to put a stop to it. Almost.
LAUSD Faces Deeper Layoffs Due to Past Hiring
A state watchdog agency has indicated that the Los Angeles Unified School District could have avoided its current financial crisis by not replacing departing staff. The district is now facing significant layoffs to address a $3.6 billion deficit. Despite authorizing thousands of layoffs, only a fraction were implemented, resulting in minimal savings. The district's solvency plan includes further job reductions, furlough days, and benefit changes, all requiring union negotiation. Ultimately, the school board must demonstrate the commitment to execute these necessary cuts.

Any hope of another AEOI opportunity?
Just one more opportunity to AEOI please! - Mike, ELT and HR are you listening? If most of us knew how bad it was going to be we would have put our hands up right away. Some of us need the cushion before making our next move.
Sharp HealthCare Announces Further Workforce Adjustments
Sharp HealthCare is implementing a realignment affecting approximately 260 employees, a year after a previous round of layoffs. This move impacts various clinical and administrative roles across the organization. CEO Chris Howard cited reductions in federal reimbursement programs, including Medicaid and Medicare, as the primary driver for these necessary cuts. Despite a reported operating loss, the organization aims to achieve break-even operations and secure funds for future investments. Some behavioral health positions are being restructured to comply with new state staffing mandates.

Information and Personal Data Check
I got the emails yesterday to confirm all of my personal information, emergency contacts and mailing address. I know they do this here and there, but it also seems like they have done this right before a big cut.
I have no basis for this - just my gut. I guess we'll see what happens. Either way, at least it'll be done and I can stop worrying - 15 years of this garbage and I've had enough.
St. Louis County Faces Police Layoff Threat
St. Louis County Executive Sam Page warned of potential police layoffs if new revenue sources are not found. He cited insufficient funding from Prop P to cover rising police department costs. Page suggested using Rams settlement funds or a new online sales tax as solutions. County Council members dismissed his warning as a "scare tactic" and denied plans for layoffs. The county is facing a significant budget deficit for the upcoming year.

Is it finally over?
No more layoffs for at least a while?
What's the minimum number of people we can have?
If the goal is to reach the minimum number of people we can have and still manage to function properly, can we just go ahead and get there now? Just have one huge layoff round, get rid of everybody you want, and then let us go back to work without layoffs hanging over our heads 24/7. These incremental cuts are so much worse than anything.
PSS Layoffs Last Week
There were 300 layoffs last week in PSS globally. It’s being kept very hush hush.

I don't want your underpaid contract roles
About 18 months ago WF laid me off after a long 15-year run. Now, I get solicited for contractor roles about once or twice per month.
Wells Fargo: You can take your contract role and shove it up your a-s. I'm gainfully employed and have no desire to go back to your cesspit of despair.
What are the layoff / reorg dates you're hearing?
I heard Aug 18 for the layoffs in the US (a little birdie told me). Reorg shortly after.
watching this go down while on vacation is truly something...
I knew this week was going to be layoff week, but to see this playing out is crazy.
I should not be on this forum while on vacation, however... it's like disaster p0rn, can't look away. I also want to try to prepare for whatever nonsense I'm going to log back in to.
I'm already out (took the VSP with a 9/4 separation date) but I just KNOW the next three weeks are going to be an absolute sh-tshow until I leave. the people who make the restructuring decisions typically don't understand any of the existing processes, which means a whole lot of unnecessary confusion for those who actually do the work.
they always preach, "it's business as usual, nothing is changing blah blah blah..." and none of this is business as usual. it hasn't been for almost two months now.

08/11 layoff meetings for anyone? (Second day of layoffs)
My understanding is that today is the second of three days of layoffs. Did you get an ominous meeting today? What department was affected?
Also my condolences in advance. This is terrible.
Laid off yesterday
Integral ad science did a round of layoffs yesterday. The amount of employees laid off is unknown at this time.
From the new ceo Lidiane jones “ Realigning the company behind these objectives means that we have to make hard decisions about teams’ structures, reporting lines, responsibilities and roles across the company. This means certain roles have been eliminated and we will be saying goodbye to a number of our colleagues.
In some regions, including the U.S., we will be notifying impacted employees today and are aiming to have individual conversations with impacted employees regarding transition support and next steps. In Europe, we are initiating formal consultation, review and/or individual discussion processes as required by local laws. Exact timing and processes may differ in certain countries based on local requirements. ”
Vertex/OIC1
Does anyone know if anymore vertex / OIC1’s are getting laid off this week ? or was it just yesterday for them? I know of some vertexer’s who got laid off but wasn’t sure if they are doing more from this department
