RIFs today

Someone crucial to the daily and long-term operations of our team was let go today in a RIF. Our work will slow down and become more difficult because of it. Those we support will feel the consequences, too.

Don’t let anyone tell you that those let go are only the bad employees. This was someone with years of dedicated service who performed at a high level. Leadership at this company is only interested in a short term gains. There is no longterm strategy.

Any PLs here who can share what their decision-making power is re: ISP?

I want to know if direct PLs were given any say in exactly who they let go from their teams. I’m also just curious about the criteria for who stays and who goes in general. Were you told a number or a job title you had to RIF, were you given exact names, was it based on past performance, etc?

My team lost its newest hire (who was honestly great, so I’m bummed for them) plus someone who’d been around for 5-10 years and was admittedly unexpected — unless PLs got to choose.

LinkedIn Post

So Cameron is interviewed by “Business Roundtable” who in-turn post on their LinkedIn page , QUOTE- “ The American Dream is all about opportunity, the belief that with hard work, determination and the right support, you can really accomplish anything in this country “ -Cameron Brady

Are you kidding me ? What kind of lies from the straight pits of he-l is this non sense and did McKinsey write that for him . Tell that to the countless bodies, families and lives shattered over the last years since his tyrannical leadership and 1000’s of folks ( many really good folks ) laid off after their “hard work and determination” got them a big fat RIF.

Nobody that has any sense and knows Global Payments believes this cr-p and is drinking this kool aid juice are they ?

I’m cooked, my SD asked me if I wanted the next RIF package

I believe I’m cooked my manager asked me if I wanted to take the next rif package. He then asked me if I was ready to retire. I’m The only one left onshore for my team so I feel like they’re gunning for me for the next rif. I make $184k including STI bonus. Do you think I’m overreacting?

Personal Docs and Contacts

I was let go last September and at least had a Zoom call, unlike the March mass e-mail RIF. Now that Oracle has a taste for e-mail RIF I can't imagine they go back to hundreds or thousands of zoom calls. Either way, if you are on the list your computer access will be disabled almost immediately after notification. Get your personal documents off of your work computer while you can, and ask for the personal contact information for people you want to keep in contact with. You won't have a chance later on. When Oracle decides they are done with you, you are done in an instant.

Are rumours blowing up too much?

Last year, the 10-K seemed to foreshadow a significant round of layoffs, given Oracle’s roughly $2B restructuring budget.

The FY27 10-K, by comparison, indicates about $300M in restructuring costs, and at least some of that appears to be tied to completing restructuring actions initiated in the previous fiscal year.

Am I missing something, or is this year’s restructuring budget much more in line with Oracle’s typical fiscal-year spending rather than suggesting another unusually large RIF?

Why not move RIF'd to open spots?!

I see lots of jobs open so why are they not trying to move people who are on the RIF list to these spots? Yes, some require specialized degrees, such as nurses, but many of them don't. In 90% of these jobs, people can be trained to do them. Why would they let experience walk out the door? People who've been here for years could easily transition. Is it because they're going to bring in new folks at lower pay? Make it make sense.

Heard about my friend getting RIF'd today from random meeting

Their last day is 9/4. Got a random meeting today on their calendar with higher ups and HR. For their safety and making sure that they are not retaliated against, I will reveal nothing about them. I am sad to see them go. They didn't deserve it.
Random meetings are being sent out. It is happening right now as we speak.

For those who have been RIF’d today — any severance?

I’m so sorry that we are all going through such an anxious time right now. I wasn’t eligible for the VSP and am almost certain to be RIF’d — so please know I understand the fear and anxiety. I hope everyone impacted ends up better than they were before.

I was wondering if anyone who has been RIF’d today can share whether or not they were offered any kind of severance?

The WARN act notifications.

Does anyone know how the company is getting around the Worker And Retraining Notification (WARN) that I believe the company is subject to.? The numbers involved in the various RIFs imply they should be filing WARN reports.

I know the earlier round included 60 day Admin Leave which would allow them to get around it but the latest rounds don't seem to be so generous and not include the 60 day admin leave.

Micro RIFs?

I am on a team of about 12 and we had 2 employees within a week fired. Makes me wonder if a new approach to RIF is setting unrealistic standards, allow team to fail and fire without offering severance to save on the bottom line. Trust absolutely eroded in this company.
