Worst places to be for career and best

I will start

Upstream: Worst to be part of big BU. Lot of work and no reward
Best: Small BU, same distribution and generally worse people. Even better Uncon support groups. Do nothing but critic others work - easy for any Exxon people

GP - Avoid Dev Planning. Go for any Cat 4 or lower projects.

PNC Bank Merger Creates Customer Service Chaos

PNC Bank's acquisition of FirstBank led to widespread customer issues. Former FirstBank customers reported long lines at branches and long phone wait times. Some customers experienced strange problems, including access to other people's bank accounts. One customer found her debit card registered to an old, incorrect address. PNC Bank is investigating these matters and deploying additional customer support resources.

Vz Customwr Service improving

As I prepare for a vacation trip to Europe I contacted Vz Call Center. I must say the Rep was outstanding.

Being a longtime employee and Fios/Vz Mobile customer....historically was confusing and put so much on the Customer to manage.

I point this out for two reasons...first.... the focus and execution was flawless and secondly.... rhe Service Rep was awesome and hwrbrole needs to be supported and expandes and removebrhe Director/Sr Director headcount and live up to the hype of Customer experience

Layoffs are a funny way to treat an ‘Important Part Of Our Portfolio’

Sony is laying off potentially hundreds of developers at Bungie as part of its latest round of cuts following the end of support for Destiny 2, but it will continue investing in Marathon despite the extraction sho-ter’s ongoing struggles to expand its audience despite rave reviews. That was the message from PlayStation Studios chief Hermen Hulst in a new letter about the cuts. The Sony exec called Marathon an “important” part of the company’s gaming portfolio and promised ongoing support, at least for now.

Former V Teamer here, feel very sorry for you all

I still keep in touch with former co workers in addition to keeping up with postings on this site. I am so glad to no longer be in the firestorm that is being a VZ employee. This was a once great company and I am very grateful for all the skills I acquired during my tenure. That has allowed me to become very successful, but this AI takeover is very real and it seems to be impacting a few key industries the hardest, telecom being one of those. Regardless if you decide to hold off for severance, weather the storm, or depart on your own terms just remember, YOU GOT THIS!

Willing to Help

Hi - I was laid off in a previous round of cuts and landed another job after 6-8 months during which I took some time to sit, process, and be present with my family. I'm willing to connect with anyone affected in this latest round to see if I can help in any way. Please post here, and, if there's sufficient interest, I will work to find a way to get in touch.

It’s over!

I need to relocate my family of 4 to hub in 2 months. My spouse has lost her job recently and going through tough time emotionally. Anxiety is taking a very big toll on us and I don’t even know where to start with the move. So much to do to in terms of paperwork and I feel like heading to a psych wardl. I need more time to move but HR won’t agree.
Can anyone share their moving experience?

Lost direction

I joined this company as a young blood years ago. Worked hard, built successful products aimed to grow and still doing the best I can. However I got busy with life, siloed to a Specific area where I am unable to land another job even after 3 years of search.

Now in my mid life, I am facing relocation to Dallas, which my mind is constantly rejecting. The move would be a very big change for our family with some positives and negatives of spousal job loss and transition for children. I am not sure if anybody faced this scenario but if you did, how did you convince yourself to move and restart life? I am feeling lost with no home settlement and don’t know what to do except to comply.
