Problem shift - bpSolutions to Upstream

So help me understand, they got rid of bpSolutions and instead have instead made a big central organisation under Upstream HSE & Ops. One VP pre reorg to 6VPs post re-org. Surely the cottage industry has just shifted to satisfy some power hungry and egoistical characters. What is the point and what a disaster!

Best Leaders at Enbridge

The recent post on Culture saw a few positive references to Pat Daniels - reminders of what a great leader he is though sadly someone many current employees would not have experienced.

We are a big company now so it’s great to share with colleagues who the current great leaders are.

Let’s keep this positive shall we? Enbridge HR will have the thread removed if there negative mention of certain VPs.

🔥 OMNICELL: WHERE EVERYONE IS A VP… AND SOMEONE STILL HAS TO DO THE WORK

Seriously, how many VPs does one company need?

At Omnicell, the org chart sometimes feels less like a lean healthcare technology company and more like a VP convention with an occasional product roadmap thrown in.

You have to wonder:

👉 What does everyone actually do all day?
👉 How many “strategic alignment” meetings or “workshops” can one organization possibly have?
👉 And how many VPs does it take to schedule another meeting with the other VPs?

Then there are titles that make you stop and wonder whether the role exists because the company genuinely needs it—or because somebody needed another box on the organizational chart.

And yes… VP of Internal Communications.

That one might actually be justified. Someone has to spend all day figuring out how to turn:

“We’re eliminating your position”

into

“We’re strategically realigning our workforce to unlock future opportunities.” 😂

Maybe the real innovation at Omnicell isn’t automation.

It’s automating the creation of executive titles.

How many VPs are too many?

Asking for the shareholders. 👀

Anyone know what specific Legg org VP/SVP teams will surplus in September?

I've heard more surplus is coming in September, and I am hoping I'm on that list! I asked to be on the July surplus and was told my department wasn't impacted so I could not be included. Any chance I will be on it in September? Specifically looking for impacted VP/SVP teams under Legg.

Sociopathic VPs

Is there a requirement for VP's to be sociopaths? They seem to be required to lack empathy or remorse and engage in manipulative behavior to achieve that level.

It is truly disturbing to watch them in action.

I think the annual RIFs are some kind of sick psychopathic game they love to play on us to keep people in line. It must give them pleasure to destroy people's lives year after year for no reason other than to advance their own career.

Value going back to TracFone

Here is how ridiculous Verizon Value is. Tanya and her cronies spent the last 2 years undoing everything that made TracFone a success. Once she was bounced out the powers that be now are reverting back to how everything was at Trac. Millions of dollars wasted and time and energy, I am so over this place. Please let me go now.

Need help navigating a workplace dynamic

We're increasingly relying on very junior resources who often arrive with a great deal of confidence but very little context. Many are obsessed with visibility and impressing VPs and Directors, spending more energy crafting narratives and projecting competence than actually doing the work required to build it. Everyone seems eager to have an opinion on everything, despite being fresh out of school and lacking the historical context or operational understanding behind why certain decisions were made. Questioning assumptions is healthy; dismissing experience before understanding is not. Leadership often mistakes polished communication, executive presence, and confidence for capability. Those who manage perceptions rise quickly, while other carry the load. To make matters worse, some are very well connected, merit isn't always what drives opportunity. just look ate the recent hires.

Has anyone else dealt with environments where visibility is valued more than substance? Performance Vs perception he-l.

Not responding to emails or voice mail production leader

I complained to my production VP that I never get a response from SH on any email or voice message I've sent him, even though I get 1,2 and even t3 messages somedays from him asking for all sorts of information that still isn't in salesforce. he never responds to any commission adjustments either, that require his level approvals. My VP laughed and said SH doesn't respond to any VP emails either.

Vice Presidents

Can we hire some more vice presidents? The more vice presidents we hire, the more Expand has to pay the worker bees to put up with the extra BS. Then we can get a raise! In reality, we challenge the vice presidents to justify their salaries and bonuses to the stock holders. We know they are worthless from the inside view of the company. Oh, they will claim the worker bees' accomplishments, but we know who really gets the work done around here. And we don't have skeletons on our closet.

why

Things used to get done in hours it was the gold standard of support. The VP has no clue. The Director who knew what to do left and won’t even answer questions she directs us to the new leadership. You put people over the teams that are not qualified. The people left behind are leaving. Tickets take days across all support. Give us our access back. The coe for mobility just died next to the wireline support.

Any updates to Directors and Staff VPs getting hit during May and June rifs?

Following up on a previous post about Directors being required to list what they do to earn their paychecks. Anyone heard anything new on this? "Was asked to put in four bullets what my role is with metrics supporting it? Can’t say “Oversees” or anything high level. Is Director level being hit next?"

Confused

Cuts done and ac is a vp who reports to a vp who reports to a vp who reports to an evp?
How again are we cutting operating costs in tech????
That’s 4 vp layers in that instance alone, aside from sr director layers…

Leave

Here is what I don’t understand. All reps and managers come on here to complain knowing that with this regime nothing is going to change. Look at the East same d-mb VP and same d-mb senior directors. They are a click. They hire people that will not rat them out or people that will not question their poor leadership. None of them have 1 leadership bone in their bodies. Ask any of them about their plan to lead their teams. It’s all calls and pips and write ups. The funny part is she said on the all managers call you need to inspire your reps. Bit.. you can’t inspire your yourself. If there is any real leadership they would all be gone now. I’ll keep this job till I find something else or better yet I hope I get riffed.
