Remember when:

CEO Stephenson said the stock was going to $50/share
CFO Stevens said it was a good thing AT&T was kicked off the DOW and replaced by Apple
COO Stankey did that hilarious/mocking impression of Trump right before the 2016 election - then Trump got elected and when had to spend an extra $550M in legal expenses to get the Time Warner deal done
COO Donovan (claiming to be a good Irish Catholic boy) got caught sniffing Arnoldi's drawers.
Never the A-Team of C-Suite America.

What Type???

Now that it looks like from managements maneuvering that bankruptcy is certain to happen very soon, what are the odds it could go directly to Ch 7 instead of Ch 11.
There was an analyst stating it could line up that way because of the abnormal amount of debt they are dealing with.
This would mean all stockholders would have zero value.

The Fiserv I knew in 2019 is gone

Long gone - retired just before and during the Operation Excellence phase of the merger. After that all he-l came in from Frank. Jeff Y was gone to a house in Florida with a ton of cash. Everybody else learned SAPIENCE at the risk of termination. Yes there were problems of course - even IBM could su-k up a disaster or two. But the relatively good firm was shot full of holes. Am very sad at what it has become today.

Tech All Staff - Friday 17th

After reading through the RMC business line thread, the upcoming Tech all staff call on Friday the 17th with its provide strategic updates and offer other important and timely news you need to know sounds ominous. They will probably give out the hubs that all remote employees will need to relocate into and talk about the second GCC coming up in Hyderabad. Anyone know anything?

Stock together (now in october) and Rifs..

So I was just sitting here thinking.. Did they move the stock together to October in order to avoid paying them out for a Rif that is planned?

Full disclosure I am not aware of how the payouts for the big Rif worked. Did they accelerate all stock together grants and pay them out?

Why else would this have been moved to October?

Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is surviving out there.

Half of my team gets to WFH for the next month

And the rest of us are stuck paying +$200 a month in parking/commuting fees and losing dozens of hours of personal time

The way PNC is handling everything right now is fu--ing absymal. I didn't think it was possible for the morale to get any lower, but here we are.

Has your department/management sent out any official notice yet?

This administration is coming after fraud.

I’m not exactly a fan of Trump, but I do give him and, more importantly, Oz credit for cracking down on healthcare fraud. We all know the health/medical system has flown largely under the radar. That time appears to be over and I’m all for rounding up rogue doctors, hospital administrators, nurses, pharmacists, DME providers, etc.

id Software Faces Significant Staff Reductions

Reports indicate that id Software has experienced substantial layoffs, with approximately half of its workforce reportedly affected. These cuts are said to have severely impacted the studio's quality assurance department. The news follows a broader announcement of 3,200 job eliminations across Xbox's video game division. Bethesda, a sister studio, is also undergoing restructuring to focus on its major franchises. This strategic shift aims to streamline content roadmaps and enhance collaboration among development teams.

Big win for SAP HR

More information will be shared via emails regarding Project Fuji which is actually a continuation of Project Mongoose but with a different name. Lots of discussions between HR and the Betriebsrat this time and the HR definitely won.

The works council just approved the layoff of 8000 of 14000 jobs that Christian Klein and Dominic Asam wanted. This will happen gradually and all hiring managers are supposed to give preference to internal candidates first. Anyone who has been found to not use AI in the last many months or isn't deemed AI ready will have to undergo compulsory training or face layoffs. They are going to add more sections in Performance Management and force all employees to have an AI related goal. Managers make the final decision on whether employees are AI ready or not and this will impact the HOW and WHAT scores.

But this is devastating news nonetheless. I can't wait for my non-technical development manager to tell me that I am not burning enough AI tokens on something frivolous. She uses them all the time to create presentation graphics and vibe coding and none of that is actually creating any value for SAP customers. But she's an AI star now and actually "coaches" developers on how to use AI in day-to-day life. There are also discussions ongoing with the supervisory board to increase share buybacks and the dividend in the upcoming quarter. HR wants to use "any money saved through layoffs and performance management" to be used towards this.SAP is on track to become one of the worst companies to work for.
