Mid year and end of year IM, with both reviews claiming I was trending towards IM. In a DF group that has seen very few cuts. How scared should I be?

I'm not even going to bother to wait. There might not be many, but there are available remote jobs in my field and I plan to apply to every single one of them. I'm not staying around for this cr-p.

Barely two months after laying off 350 employees, including many locally, CarMax has just cut hundreds more jobs. The Goochland-based used car giant announced today another mass layoff of 230 workers at its corporate offices.

Att Cyber security Jobs were and are still being posted but are they being filled?
I recall a rename of att cyber security group to “level blue “ last ear before the vacancy postings.
Any insights?

I'm starting to lose hope that anybody is actually hiring.

Everyone is on edge, wringing their hands hoping that all will be well in regards to their employment.

Lots of naysayers out there. Lots off people who desperately try to sell that its not use to look for jobs elsewhere. Lots of people who try to tell you that if someone got let go “it must be because they got a deserved 4 rating”.

While both can be true, neither is exclusively always true.

The one thing that I know for sure 100% is that you are guaranteed to NEVER find a job outside of Citi if you don’t start looking. Many don’t want to take the leap out of fear of starting over and having to prove themselves. Ok, then all the stress you get from Citi going forward will be forever shackled to you. If you don’t like your world then change your world. Easy, no. Quick, usually not. Impossible, absolutely not. Worth it, for piece of mind, oh you bet it is.

As one other poster mentioned, many people NEED to believe that if someone got let go its because they were a sustained 4 in all areas for an extended amount of time. They have to believe that so that they can take themselves out of that bucket that it could happen to them. They need to believe that if they do all the right things, they are safe.
The actual truth is much uglier than what they can handle.

Work hard, keep your head down, sharpen your skills. Search externally for jobs and apply. Rinse, repeat until you find something and move on. Keep in mind that Citi wants you to move on. They are taking measures to encourage you to leave. If you survive this round, then congratulations, you get to take up the slack for everyone else. You get more work and with most assuredly shortened deadlines with a higher expectations to never make a mistake. Keep in mind all the while with no increase in pay. Its ok though because it’ll be summed up with “don’t forget about your work life balance” speech. To Citi “work life balance” is that your family needs to be ok with you working all the time.

Has anyone heard of benefits dept being offshored? I’ve seen 2 posts on linkedin since yesterday from people on benefits team looking for next opportunity.

So many people are going for same job. Some jobs I’m overqualified and recruiters think I’m not going to stick around. It’s rough out there!

With everything that's been happening I've been looking and applying like crazy for a couple of months and all I'm getting is complete silence in return. I don't remember it being this bad even at the start of the pandemic. To say I'm worried would be an understatement.

Start looking for a new job if you got a 4, you will be part of the layoffs/rif this year. It will come in two waves. End of January and in March. Prepare now for your exit with Citi if you got a 4.

This + 4 days in office has me seeking new jobs away from Chevron.

On a call with leaders and managers. 25,000 layoffs last year, expect another re-org (or as it was said in the meeting; 'reshuffle') at the earliest mid-February.

Employee confidence in Cisco, it's direction and future are at an all time low according to leadership. The only positive is RTO reigniting local hire after years of stagnation.

Its that time folks. Start looking!! Leaving the Harris chapter in 2025 was essential to a much better life , financially, emotionally and physically. Grab a new role elsewhere before it gets flooded with applicants. Advice for L3 Harris DEI hires, there are Aerospace companies on Long Island that don’t accommodate DEI ( currently employed at one). Only qualified applicants win the role. Mana Mana😂

These executives are tone deaf

Chanel RTW, bags and shoes are pulling out of seven locations, mostly in California. Once the fires flare up, everything is affected. Sales associates are scared of losing job/liquidation/store closing, and they are being left with nothing to sell. Many other brands are expected to follow Chanel and pull out as well. I also heard that a few vendors are threatening to pull out completely from Saks and Neiman Marcus.

I was laid off from TMUS a year ago. I was there a long time, since before Sprint. The company changed, it no longer supports the needs of the many, only the few.

If you are on this board and still employed by T-Mobile, you are stressed about losing your job. It's as simple as that. You are worried that you are next.

My new role pays similar as my old role, but with 10% of the stress. And honestly, most of my stress at TMUS stemmed from feeling that a layoff would come for me eventually. And it did.

My advice is to get out. Let them destroy the company without you. Start working on your resume, put it out there, do a few interviews. Just get out. Make that your new years resolution.

But I’m so glad I got laid off. I landed a great job within days. Don’t get me wrong, it was pure d-mb luck, and I know that’s far from the reality of the job market right now. I honestly wish the same break for everyone. We don’t deserve to live in constant fear of losing a job and then struggling endlessly to find another. Life should feel like living, not just surviving.

How does it feel to see the first one hit the account? Between this and the new tax for paid leave in MN we are making less than last year as they tighten the sc--ws and ask for more from us. Time for a new job.

I’m willing to take almost any other job, even one that pays less, just to be able to leave this place. Five years here have felt like ten anywhere else.

For the past decade, each year has been progressively worse than the previous one. And 2025 was already really, really bad. I don't dare think about what we might expect from this one. I've been praying for a new job, but having zero luck, so I guess I'll be forced to find out anyhow.

I realize this post only applies to employees who were hired before 2008, because they've changed the way our pension is being calculated going forward. I just got around to looking at my new pension estimate for retirement and it decreased 57%. My pension was the one last thing I've been holding on to; really the only thing that was truly keeping me here. Now seeing my new pension number, knowing that giving 20+ more years would only add a measley amount - I have no reason now. Cheers to a new year and hopefully a new job!

I will be interviewing over next two weeks. Good riddance OT. They don't know what's going to it them in next week or so. Good luck OT "leadership" trying to fix this.

Everyone needs to remember that severance pay is a gift, not a right. There's no law that forces a company to offer it when they let you go. If you're at Fidelity and waiting for a buyout package, you're gambling. You could end up in a crowded job market with no savings to help you transition. The smart move is to start your job search now, while you're still employed. Don't wait for a promise they're not obligated to keep.

I was researching job openings during work yesterday, and my manager walked over and saw my screen. She confronted me about it, and I denied it in the moment. Now I'm anxious about potential consequences. Could this actually get me fired, or just put a target on my back?

2025 was meant to be my exit year from Wells Fargo. I applied, interviewed, networked, and pushed as hard as I could. Now 2026 is basically here and nothing changed. To say it’s demoralizing would be an understatement.

From Verizon or anywhere else. What happens if you get a job right away, can you work at another place and still get your severance? On the opposite end of the spectrum, if the severance you got runs out before you are able to find another job, are you allowed to apply for unemployment?

After eight months, I'm still looking for a job. I had a few promising interviews just to get ghosted in the end. I'm lucky because I have plenty of savings to be okay for at least another year, but I know so many folks who are not so lucky. These layoffs destroyed so many lives.

The reality is Qualcomm doesn’t treat employees like people. If you get laid off, you’ll be off their radar immediately. If you stick around, you’ll just be expected to work longer, follow every rule, and stay quiet no matter what. Your well-being comes first. Start looking for a new role. Trust me, it’s worth the effort.

After eight interviews, one of which went for five rounds, I still have nothing. I’m starting to develop a complex.
