Anxiously awaiting the “Ka-ching”

Today is supposed to be the last day of my waiting period. Did anyone get their final shot separation papers yet? Maybe it’ll be end of day. Oracle will be giving my retirement a good start with 6 months salary and I will also qualify for unemployment, because maybe I still want to work, maybe…LOL. This is a much better retirement gift than any going away lunch or retirement watch. I’m very thankful for this blessing, I just need that final check to sail off into the next chapter.

NCR Atleos Botched RiF

I am ex employee who was affected by last month's RiF. To date, my health insurance was terminated 4 days early and they have "ghosted" me when I am asking for updates on when I will receive my severance payments. Not surprising for this company of course. Anyone else have similar issues?

Central Alabama Water Delays Severance Payments

Central Alabama Water laid off 135 employees on March 13th. These former workers claim they have not received their promised severance pay. Their representative, Eric Hall, states the lack of pay affects survival and medical care. Some former employees are battling serious illnesses like cancer. Central Alabama Water is coordinating with the Alabama Department of Revenue regarding tax exemption for eligible severance.

Two questions at bottom

After over 20 years of being loyal to this — barely recognizable firm — the writing is on the wall for me. My leader couldn’t make it any more obvious he is trying to make me quit. I’ve given this firm so much of myself. There were times when I was a salaried pay grade 6 and was “as part of my leadership development”, leading over 10 CW members, while also having a bunch of other cr-p the leaders didn’t want to do (disguised as development), while also essentially handcuffed to my phone taking back-to-back calls for 8 hours a day. Oh, and did I mention also studying for my 7 and 66 off the clock? I was so burnt out; but I pushed through those long (often close to 60 hrs a week) because I never imagined this firm would be in this state of complete and utter disrepair. I wanted to be a lifer, wanted to retire here. I gave this firm my sanity for more years than I’d like to admit. Taken time away from my wife and kids to keep chasing the dream for what should never have even been allowed pay. I hustled. Have had horrible leaders who couldn’t care less about my development. My family. My well-being. But still, I stayed. And mostly as the years went on, I stayed because I had finally made it to the goal pay grade. Was full-time HBA and with 4 kids, that flexibility had been invaluable.

Now? Well, now I think I cost too much money to keep on payroll. I should mention I’m absolutely kicking myself for finding another role here when I was “reimagined” in Aug. I panicked. The job market is trash. After over 2 decades here, I was devastated, honestly . I’m the bread winner. I knew almost immediately after starting this new role I had made a grave mistake in not following my gut feeling of what an absolute nightmare this new micromanager of a TL would be. And she’s worse than I could have ever imagined. I don’t work on a team. I’m an individual contributor and my “performance” is based on her opinion alone. I’ve already been put on a PIP and now a written warning. I’ve been told she, along with AR, have been “investigating” my computer activity and any periods of more than 5 mins “idle time”. I’ve been an HBA FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER ONCE had my integrity questioned. Felt like the associate from AR was interrogating me, as I was completely blindsided by the whole thing. Essentially I was told that my activity on the system should at minimum be 8 hours/day. I called several things into question and was denied access to these activity reports in order to try to prove their allegations wrong. I’m now being required to essentially log every hour of work a day for 8 hours. I’m absolutely certain they’re going to terminate me. I’ve never met two more cold-hearted people at this firm and have no intention of staying here any longer than I have to.

I’m sick with anxiety every day. I’ve lost over 15 lbs since in 5 weeks since I was out on a PIP. Worst decision of my life was not taking that BS severance package when it as offered and telling this place to F right the F off and never look back.

Now to my questions:

1) Due to my blind stupid loyalty to this firm, and being HBA, I have banked almost 300 hours on sick time. I know regardless of how employment is ended her that the sick time is never paid off. You just lose it. I have over 30 something days of pay I could’ve used as time off and didn’t. Should I just start burning those days?? I’ve earned them. Could they potentially penalize me for using too many?

2) With almost 20 years here, WHEN they finally terminate me (which will be completely made up or highly exaggerated “performance” issues), will they offer me severance? I’ve been told by several friends that don’t work here that it’s likely they would due to my tenure, the inside knowledge I’ve acquired over all the years and to prevent any chance of a lawsuit (make me sign an NDA or something)

Thanks! This page has been my only source of sanity to see I’m not the only one being completely sc--wed. After the latest round of GPs took off for India last week, I know it’s just a matter of time for so many of us. ELT has burned this once beloved company to the ground while padding their pockets and ruining the lives of associates and their families.

Don't just sign up for the irif, do your research

Don't just sign up for the volunteer irif, speak to a laywer first. There are plenty of lawyers that offer free advice, even online.

If you sign up for something like this, you could miss out on benefits you would normally receive if you were irif'd involuntarily, including unemployment.

Xerox, or any business, is never looking out for you. Assume this smells just like anything else they do.

Is the site in Pennington NJ closing or not?

Any truth to the rumor that Pennington is not closing just yet? No word on the rumored new building in PA and no communication from management on anything. Will everyone be expected to relocate to JC and NYC or will everyone just be let go? Will anyone get severance? When will any of this happen?

Xerox Severance Pay

Posting this info because I didn't see a definite answer on how much severance pay we will get if let go during the layoffs. My boss just told me that when the last layoff happened , and my coworker was let go from our department , he received TWO weeks pay for severance. He was with Xerox for about a year and a half to two years. SMH . Wishing everybody luck job hunting and getting the he-l out if this company !

Part of previous RIF, never returned laptop, still got severance

Random post, but to anyone wondering/concerned if you don't return your laptop in time or are like me and forgot (for good reason and not on purpose, long story and health issues), I still got my severance pay (shrug emoji). Just realized I still had it and thought I'd share

Amazon Confirms Thousands of Job Cuts

Amazon announced 16,000 job cuts. These reductions follow previous workforce eliminations in October and 2023. U.S.-based staff will have 90 days to seek internal transfers. Affected employees will receive severance, outplacement services, and health benefits. These layoffs reflect industry-wide adjustments after pandemic-era expansion.

can someone with legal knowledge weigh in on this

There is an Older Workers Benefits Protection Act (OWBPA) where employees over age 40 are entitled to a 21-day review period and seven-day revocation period for severance agreements.

Would that begin once you get your formalized walking papers? How can there be a deadline to accept the buy-out and its "approximate" info if this is a federal law?

Severance

I have been here close to 5 years but I feel like my team is on the chopping block and being automated. Some People are getting moved to other teams and red badges let go.
I think eventually blue badges will be let go a couple at a time. Does anyone know if severance is provided for small cuts like one or two people or is severance only for the big LR's that get anounced for a large percent??

Nelson Global Products Cuts 65 Troutdale Jobs

The company Nelson Global Products is closing its Troutdale site. Sixty-five roles are being eliminated. Layoffs are projected to finish by September 30. Proximity to customers, low sales, and shipping costs caused the decision. Affected employees will receive severance and job search help.

I am not interested to come to office. Is it me alone ?

After the recent layoffs and seeing my friends left with very little severence I am scared.
I started preparing more for interviews from Home and I am not interested even to show up in office unless there are critical meetings. I used to respect coming to office earlier.
The severance pack received by my friend is very low and I am also scared now with a single email any time my job is in danger. This layoff has collapsed entire morale of the unit and the human work culture.

Severance doesn't help

Before I got cut, I told myself the severance would soften the blow. Once it happened and the money showed up, it didn't fix how I felt. Not one bit. After years of giving everything to Oracle, they let me go with hardly a word of thanks. The check does not help the feeling that comes with that. I'm still not over it, and it's been months.

Severance coming to claims

So happened to get to see an email I wasn't supposed too. Severance packages coming for leadership in Claims. Auto and Fire! I did not get to read the whole thing but sounds like it will be targeted at the SM and TM level. CMs may be getting shown the door or demoted. Basically said with anticipated changes, they have too many leaders and want to trim the fat. Basically dump any tenured folks left. Dream come true for a lot of us, a nightmare for others. Missed the dates on when but sounded like sometime in September. Stay patient!

(Whistleblowing) Check Your Separation Agreements & Negotiate

If you've been laid off and if you've signed an agreement or if you're just about to get one soon, read your agreement. The non-disparagement part is especially important to look at. There are laws about how it's supposed to be written.

Negotiate, get a better package, know your rights.

Hired back after lay off

Don't roast me, but I got an offer to get hired back after getting impacted last year. Ultimately Intel pays more for my role than anywhere else. For the life of me I can't find the percentage of severance I'd have to pay back relative to the months from getting laid off. Does anyone have that information? Has Intel actually enforced it?

Preparation for layoff

Looking for real advice on steps to take in preparation for a possible layoff. What files/information to save, what resources to take advantage of while we still have them, etc. My biggest concern is a lack of medical and dental insurance for my family since I'm the one providing those benefits. Has anyone successfully negotiated an extension of benefits as part of their severance?

Nebraska Wesleyan Reduces Staff Due to Financial Pressures

Nebraska Wesleyan announced the elimination of 14 positions. These job cuts are part of necessary budget reductions. The university faces difficulties from declining enrollment and rising operational costs. Affected employees were offered severance packages and continued health insurance. A faculty advisory work group has been formed to review academic programs and positions.

Can someone please sum it up?

I read so many posts here and still have some questions…

  1. Those that were riffed were given until June 30th to work and then get severance package.
  2. Those that were rebadged have 12 months contract?
  3. Does the pay remain the same?
  4. Do you keep the same insurance?
  5. Do you keep vacation/sick time?
  6. If you decline to be rebadged, FIS will take that as voluntary resignation so no severance package…when do they consider the last day?

Tik Tok Franklin Templeton

The only Franklin Templeton phone skill still being serviced by FIS is the Retirement skill, Everything else has moved back to FT. Due to meeting their own staffing needs, FT has not given an end date to FIS. That leaves those Customer Service staff members hanging, waiting to hear if they have been hired back at FT or will they be laid off and get severance from FIS. Those who have moved back are scrambling to get set up to take calls, assist training new hires, acquiring new/legacy staff and standing a call center back up that was supposed to be handled by the contract with FIS.

Let's give a big round applause for another FIS failure didn't have to be, costing more jobs and another blow to the share price when it comes out.
