Rising anti-Indian sentiment
I understand the anger against GK, which is valid but is it necessary to throw all Indians under the bus? As a WASP who has worked with several competent Indian origin employees over the years who even went on to become American citizens, I just find all this stereotyping against an entire community a sad projection of what our country has become. Always thought the USB community was above it. Every group without exceptions has competency across the board in similar percentages so I don't understand this new and rising sentiment. Just venting, I guess.
This company is a joke!
You are only a number… don’t assume anything makes you safe. The current leadership has 1 priority… Slash and cut.. no master plan, no vision. the AI talk is all a cover to layoff and do stock buybacks.. Best of luck to all impacted today and the ones to come…
Value Impacts Today
Anyone in Value let go today?
Severance
Have any changes been made to severance? Can anybody who has been laid off share, please? I ask this each time and I know I'm probably being paranoid, but I always worry that they'll use any opportunity to further reduce the package, like they did several times before.
Management meeting
Supervisor said he has meeting 11-1230pm. We are in wireline… Cssc rep union . We are doomed
Are only specific roles affected?
I don't want to get too hopeful, but it seems these layoffs are above my paygrade, to put it like that.
Time to clear?
when will it be clear? eastern time
Central time impacts?
Anyone in the central time zone impacted yet? My nails are gone
Why is there never a WARN notice?
Isn't it required by law?
Rumor! Rumor!
It’s just a rumor; everything looks normal.
$204
Right now. Fully expect $199 after the earnings call next week. Arvind's house of cards is crumbling.

Contractors hiring
Why BofA is hiring contractors in such huge numbers? Is it just usual business or something big is going to happen.
Employee Survey
Anyone got any info on the employee survey or when it may come out? I want to see if they are brave enough to send it while the tons of folks they just surplussed are still on payroll or if they will bi--h out and send it after (i.e September or October before the next round of layoffs hit)
What about HCL?
Will HCL be gone when their contract is up? Or will Big Red keep them around to muck up the works?
finance
will finance be affected in BR or LM? do we know what groups
CEO Sweating
These questions are making him a little jittery. Bless it.
Dallas City Services Face Disruptions
Dallas has implemented mandatory furlough days for most city employees as a cost-saving measure to address a $30 million budget shortfall. This plan requires workers to take unpaid leave, impacting public access to services like libraries and City Hall. The city is facing financial strain due to increased overtime, lower sales tax revenue, and rising health expenses. While first responders are exempt, residents are experiencing inconvenience and questioning the city's financial management. City workers are concerned that these furloughs could foreshadow future layoffs if the financial situation does not improve.

VBG impact?
Any indications on the best guess impact to International?
Why are people not striking?
Being constantly told to teach and utilise AI and clearly being told it soon will replace employees, why are employees not striking?
Muscle vs fat
Why is it that every time there are layoffs, they always target the people who actually do the work instead of the ones who don't contribute anything? It's no surprise the company is in worse shape every year.
This isn't over
I've seen people starting to relax because they think the layoffs are winding down. That's a mistake. If you look at what's actually happening, it's pretty clear that we're not done yet. Anyone who thinks we're close to the end is going to be very surprised.
KCC Layoffs
Seems like yes layoffs are coming at some point based on what Lanell is saying. A lot of language around "roles shifting" and that "decisions will be made as we learn more"
Between that and AI this company is really trying it's absolute hardest to run itself into the ground.
Loyalty forgotten
It's stunning to see longtime employees, people who dedicated their careers here, get pushed out with no consideration. And now there's so much more to come. What happened to this place?
Is any backfilling happening?
We desperately need more people, we're dying over here, but we're being told nobody is being hired currently. Is this true? I haven't heard anything about a hiring freeze happening.
Stop pretending
I'm tired of leadership acting like Verizon is a great place to work when we all know the reality is completely different. The facade is going to crumble sooner or later.
Layoffs are not our biggest issue
Why are people getting fired lately for what I can only call bullsh-t reasons? Two folks I know have been kicked out in the last two months. I'm now starting to worry they've decided severance is too expensive and will be getting rid of us using other means instead of layoffs.
MLRP Policy - ex post facto
Just commented this in another thread, but thought may be worth mentioning.
Based on other people’s posts today, it’s confirmed the MLRP policy change is being applied retroactively (2 NSI in 5 years = termination). Instead of it being effective starting this year when announced and the tracking beginning from 2025 performance forward, they are pulling in past performance for 5 years back.
What’s stopping them from saying next year, “anyone that has receive 3 Very Good performance in the past 10 years will now be eligible for a PIP”?
Guess I’m a big d-mb d-mb for thinking they would treat this similar to how the US constitution prohibits ex post facto laws for criminal conduct.
Talent review!?
We are being asked to do review. Is this a precursor for identifying people to put on layoff list? Looking for intel.
$129 Ho Ho Ho
I still think this is way too high though. With the current debt, and forthcoming AI apocalypse, this stock is worth $1 !!!!
