A lot seems to be happening, but there’s still no clear picture of how bad it’s going to get or who’s most at risk. HP feels completely directionless, and while I wouldn’t mind leaving or even being let go, the job market, especially for us, is awful right now. So yeah, I’m worried. The money has to come from somewhere.

First was after five years, and the second was under six months. I've only been here a little over three months, but my fear of layoffs is so strong it's turned into anxiety. I wouldn't have accepted this job knowing how often layoffs happen here if I hadn't been desperate in the current job market. I just feel so defeated by it all.

Someone I know discovered they were out only because their credentials stopped working mid-morning. No conversation, no thank you, not even a quick call. I never heard of something like this happening before. He has no reason to lie to me, though. This has me more worried than ever.

I was told that I can be on PIP next q. If I am on PIP, does it stay on my history incase of looking for another job or for anything in future? Also, can I use my PTO while in PIP?

No dedicated employee deserves to have their job threatened on a consistent basis for a year or longer. Leave them, they have no loyalty to you. There are better jobs. I went back to an old employer and I'm so happy again. I was miserable worrying over job security. Start looking at other companies and jump ship. Your mental and physical health will benefit. They don't care about you anymore and we all know they don't care about the customers. They are just focused on lining their pockets. Best of luck to you. I was part of the layoff in October, and I noticed today my position along with a couple others laid off on my team have been posted on Target’s career page. They made some slight adjustments but it is almost exactly the job I was laid off from. Has anyone else seen this or have any advice? It’s a little hurtful to be backfilled less than 2 months after being laid off…

over 2000 jobs gone in India. Many of the teams were keeping the lights on after the wider cuts and now those teams are slashed. I know some will have malice regarding those employees, but they are humans and deserve sympathy like the 13k already gone from other areas. Lets hope nothing bad happens in the near future as recovery will be next to impossible and the market knows it.

My service position was eliminated after 37 1/2 years! I was planning on retiring in a few years, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! I landed a great job that respected my field service experience with far better pay! I wished Ricoh had laid me off years before!

The grass IS greener, if your not actively looking to leave Ricoh, you should be! I wasted way to many years in this dying industry.

if you’re an account specialist in corporates you might be cooked 8/10. If you haven’t received your RIF notification already well you’re either safe or they’re coming for you too. I mean they’re eliminating directors, managers, and account specialists. So it doesn’t seem like anyone is spared. It seems like a lot of these people are being let go. Every day we hear rumors, see teams shrinking, and watch responsibilities shift with no clear explanation. Not fear mongering but all I’m saying is just apply and keep your resume updated just in case because this isn’t TR specific and all organizations are downsizing due to AI.

Does anyone have any insight into the job satisfaction and future growth of SWA (Schwab Wealth Advisory)? There are so many job postings open around the country for advisors and managers. Is this a relatively safe division to work in at Schwab?

Is anybody else worried that with the never-ending layoffs pretty much everywhere, even if we manage to find a job we'll be out within a few months because of the first in first out rule? I know everybody is getting rid of seasoned employees, but they have to balance it, and new employees usually pay the price.

I really hope we find out soon what’s going on. I can’t afford to lose my job right now. It’s just one of those tough stretches. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way.

It's somewhat interesting to me that BofA would go through the entire process of hiring a bunch of tech employees, fire them all after a few months, then post the exact same job opening - complete with the exact same typos as before. The only thing that has changed is the deadline for applying. Churning and burning your way through talent is a good way to scare off legitimate prospects in the future - word gets out.

I haven’t felt like we’re building toward anything in ages. It’s all maintenance mode, at best. I’d almost welcome being put out of my misery if the job market weren’t so bleak. No real options out there, so we’re all just stuck. The worst feeling is fearing the loss of a job you don’t like at a company you can’t stand, simply because there’s nowhere else to go right now.

The job market is bad and I haven’t been able to land any offers despite some interviews. Relocation would probably save my job temporarily but it would cost my other’s job as it is not transferable. Anybody faced this situation? What did you do? Also, were you let go after relocation costing both jobs?
