I’m beginning to notice a troubling pattern in my job search. When the hiring manager is Indian or most members of an interview panel are Indian, I rarely advance. Looking back, my successful applications all involved white, non-indian, interviewers.

I understand that this pattern alone does not prove bias and that many factors influence hiring decisions. Still, after losing my previous role to HIH and seeing that IT departments are majority Indians, it is very disheartening to think that I
might never find a job again. I am competing with Indians here and outside the US.

This is not a judgment about every Indian interviewer or hiring manager. It is an honest observation about my own experiences and a pattern I believe is worth examining. Has anyone else noticed possible affinity bias during their job search? Have you noticed the ratio of Indians and non-Indians in your team?

NVIDIA has approximately 42,000 full-time employees and just reported $96.2B in fiscal 2027 quarterly revenue, with projections to do 110B next quarter. They could easily surpass $500B within the next two fiscal years. That's nearly $12M in annual revenue per employee.

Dell Technologies reported an annual revenue of $113.5 billion with an employee headcount of approximately 97,000 full-time workers. That's 1.1M in annual revenue per employee.

NVIDIA has 43% of the total number of employees to Dell yet it is on track to bring in well over 10x the total amount of revenue per employee. Leadership!

Nvidia is hiring, Dell is firing. Nvidia is growing rapidly, Dell is dying.

Are we ready to go back into Venezuela? Would we need to increase hiring and reduce layoffs/PIPs to ramp up activity there? Or we’ll simply lean on more BTC?

We're having trouble attracting top talent these days due to the plummeting reputation. All the bad reviews I keep seeing on the usual sites are true, calling out no leadership, no promotions, and no care. I wonder if the leadership thinks they can ride on Dell's old reputation forever.

For the Cloud program, we hired significantly from JPMorgan Chase and Amazon, largely because members of the leadership team came from those organizations. This contributed to substantial budget consumption.

Now, with the new AI budget, we appear to be seeing a similar pattern within Technology—hiring senior leaders from Discover Financial at GL17 and above, while simultaneously increasing pressure on existing U.S Bank employees

Seriously, if the comp. is going down then why are they hiring?
OK, they remove the employees with high salaries, give more work to those who are still there, but then still hire new ones (obviously less pay) does that mean the teams that are hiring are not being affected by layoffs?
Or are the employees that are being given more work complaining so much they actually decide to hire to help them?
Maybe I will be answering my own question now, maybe they are hiring to laying off regardless what happens... Meanwhile the newly hired employee has no clue he'll be let go soon.
Anyone know if this is the strategy they are doing?

I have heard of a lawsuit someone has with HV . A manager is taking them to court over Salary wages . And that salary managers have no say in the hiring of their dept employees and scheduling ? I could be wrong but has anyone heard anything about this ?

What amazes me is that interns with no experience are being given preference over people with actual work experience in different parts of the business for roles in various areas like asset management, risk, etc.

So even if someone doesn’t have experience in the area and have been at Fidelity for 5 years, they would rather hire an intern with no experience for a role in that area. You can’t easily move around here.

Wouldn’t that money be better spend buying off the grandpas and grandmas?

Shell employee here. We have lost a handful of wells employees to y’all over the past few years, and 3-4 DW drilling engineers the past few weeks. Why? Are you having natural attrition and need to backfill? Are there new projects that demand it? Or is this just adding to the bloat? I’m under the impression BP has the highest headcount per barrel produced of all the majors, so it seems like you should be reducing headcount not adding it.

I don’t understand the idea of these constant layoffs yet every Monday there’s new ppl getting hired. I see friends who’ve been with the org for years get laid off without warning then suddenly I have a new desk mate/more ppl being added to very roles that were axed. Something is off. Not saying this is for all but for some I feel like it’s a salary thing. Clean house and bring fresh ppl in with lower salary to start. Right after announcing an 4bn dollar Q2. Interesting times we’re in, in this Pulte era.

In the past, the majority of 300+ interns would receive return offers. This summer there are only 100 interns. Anyone know if the company-wide layoffs will translate to a low return offer rate for interns?

If anyone asks what I dislike about my role here, it’s definitely the massive caseload. Every time it comes up, management just says it's because of our "contract obligations." This doesn’t apply to any other BUs but confirmed no LRs in August for Wireless. Holding on to Wi-Fi 8 and MCG for dear life. The AI stuff is just window dressing but it opens doors so they will keep at it. Lotsa openings in India, but hiring there is slow.
