Didn't we already go thru this earlier this year? Were not enough laid off? So many teams are so thin already. How are you expected to support clients and give them excellent service if we are already so short staffed as it is? And supposedly this company wants to invest for the long term so how do you do that with more cuts? Clients are not going to be happy if there's not enough people around to make these products better and to serve them with quality and speed. Make it make sense....
They're milking the company for quick profits while it lasts. Layoffs boost stock prices and pad bonuses, even if they hollow out the company for the future. They're not clueless. They just don't care what happens after they cash out.
Was that just a rumor that was proven wrong or is there still a chance of it happening?
Five9 hires people for the next layoff round. You've got 12-18 months max. Use it wisely.
I've been here long enough to know the script. They tell you you're safe to keep you grinding for mediocre pay and benefits. The second they can hire someone cheaper, you're gone. I know because I've seen it happen. Don't believe the hype. This is experience talking.
Any thoughts on when we'll hear about more locations closings?
That's all this latest rumor is about. You buy a company, you get a chance to get rid of redundant positions, and somehow the number of such positions is always huge. As if not all of them are redundant, but were somehow marked as such because, why not use the opportunity to the max?
What's going on?
This is what happening.
Layoffs were just an occasional thing until a couple of years ago. How did we get to a point where they're now happening every few months?
How much worse off can you be than staying here if they show you the door and send you off with a nice severance package? Honestly?
Too many rumors going around to just ignore them outright. Does anybody here know anything about potential layoffs in the next month or two?
I'm so tired of being expected every few months to take on even more work because people have been cut and their work has to be done. I can't do anymore than I already do. I won't. They can fire me if they won't, but I literally can't take any more than I already have on my plate.
It'd be nice if they offered that option before involuntary cuts.
DE Shaw has accumulated a stake worth more than $1bn in Sysco, adding significant weight to the hedge fund’s long-standing investment in the US food distribution giant as the company seeks to accelerate growth and cut costs through AI, according to a report by Reuters.

That should mean we're safe from layoffs for a while, right?
With the ship clearly sinking, why would anyone join Medtronic now? Please, if you joined in the last year or two, can you share why? I'm genuinely curious.
Anything concrete?
This company had more layoffs this week. They lied to us and said that they weren't going to layoff anymore people, but that was proven to be false. I have noticed a pattern with Archer, when they hired a team from Career Builder. Ever since they came onboard, they have let go of a lot of people, to bring in their own. This was the best company to work for, and we all felt secure. Now, we are all on edge.
I don't know what happened, but the culture seems to have shifted. My manager went from being one of those horrible micromanagers to minding his own business, we backfilled two positions which made everything so much easer on all of us, and there has been no talk about layoffs for a while. I don't want to jinx it, but credit where credit's due.
Is this a certainty or still just a rumor?
This is not a small one, I'm guessing there'll be some streamlining between the companies. Any thoughts on what could get hit on our side?
It's pointless asking, the answer will always be yes. The only thing you can do is make sure you're prepared for it. That's it. Outside of that, there's no point in stressing over something you can't change.
The company will cut you without a hint of hesitation, they've done it before and they'll do it again. Profits come first, people come second. The younger workers aren't wrong to take what they can and move on. They learned what took some of us decades to accept.
So many spend like the job will last forever. I think that more frequent layoffs have made it clear that's not the case. I know a few folks who're now panicking because their savings are nowhere close to where they need to be in case they lose their jobs. Don't let that happen to you.
We let go of people who carried decades of institutional knowledge. Now we're competing against those same people who took their expertise elsewhere, and we're losing. Make it make sense, please.
In order to fully actualize Lead to One fundamentals across the employee base, are all remote workers eventually going to be let go regardless of performance?
Please start preparing yourselves. It will not be small and it will not be pretty. Plus, with the job market being what it is, you need to start looking sooner rather than later to have any chance of landing something. Just a few words of advice from an old-timer who's been through an acquisition or two and knows how it goes.
Has there been more info about September layoffs?
Is this true?
I know everything seems great on paper, so why are we hearing more and more rumors about major layoffs coming before the end of the year? Can anybody with insider knowledge please shed some light on this?
Is it going to be the same as the last time? I'm hearing there might be some reductions, but I truly hope that's not true.
BNY doesn't seem interested in keeping talented employees. They're paying some truly great people to walk out the door with each new layoff. I don't understand the strategy. You pay people to join, you invest in them, and then you pay them to leave? The math doesn't add up.
Usually layoffs happen between Tuesday and Thursday (I have no idea why those days seem to be so layoff-friendly). What are the chances this begins on Monday?
Spirit Airlines' decision to cease operations in Milwaukee has led to significant workforce reductions at PrimeFlight Aviation Services. The company, which provides essential airport services, will lay off 27 employees at its Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport location. These layoffs are a direct consequence of losing a contract tied to Spirit Airlines' service. The affected employees are scheduled to be let go in early January 2026. Spirit Airlines cited fleet adjustments and a focus on profitable markets as reasons for its withdrawal from Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Public Schools has informed 201 employees that their positions will be eliminated at the conclusion of the current academic year. This action is a direct result of approved budget cuts aimed at reducing overall staffing. The layoffs are part of a broader plan to eliminate approximately 260 jobs within the district. These reductions were formally approved by the Milwaukee School Board earlier in March. The affected employees received official notification on March 24.
