SK's travel

So nice to see that our intrepid CEO took time away from his busy travel schedule to appear on the field at Yankee stadium. Always love getting these updates on our jet-setting, pl----y, CEO who does no actual work aside from finalizing decisions on how to pay us all as little as possible.

Be careful wishing for that promotion if you have a family

I've seen people move to positions with more money and more prestige, and most regretted it because in the end, it cost them their families. Fiserv is not kind to anybody, and the higher you are (outside of the C-suite, of course) the more you're expected to do. I'd rather have my time than their paycheck.

Latest RTO roundup is secretly selective

I learned that not all MN based remote employees that live within 25 miles of an office will lose their remote status. In some cases, if a team is small and has only a few members that fall into this target group, they will not be required to RTO.
WTH?
I am not in favor of the RTO - but if they are gonna do it, shouldn’t it be EQUITABLE?
Alert to those who got the letter with demand to RTO, there may be discrimination.

Fiserv Wants Lawsuit Dismissed

From Payments Dive:

Fiserv is seeking to dismiss the lawsuit filed last year for the shareholder class action lawsuit.

In other news:

I did not know that John Gibbons was not only added as a defendant in the revised filing but he is now Chief of Staff a the IRS. FU--ING FIGURES.

Make this make sense

Forged Fiber is hiring for remote positions. AT&T’s own careers site currently shows remote and virtual openings.

So apparently remote work is good enough for some parts of the company, but the rest of us need to be in the office five days a week.

Same company. Same technology. Same Teams calls. Same internet. Yet two completely different sets of rules.

I guess they finally figured out that telling candidates they have to report to an office five days a week isn’t exactly a great way to attract talent. But somehow the employees already here are still being told that five-day RTO is essential.

If a job can be done remotely when you’re trying to hire someone, why can’t it be done remotely after you’ve hired them?

This is exactly why people don’t buy the BS argument that 5x RTO is about productivity. It’s a policy choice.

And apparently even AT&T knows when it needs to make a different choice to get the talent it wants. This place is really a joke.

Biopharma Job Cuts Plummet in July

July saw a significant decrease in biopharmaceutical industry layoffs, with a 94% drop in affected employees compared to the previous year. Only six companies initiated or planned workforce reductions, a 74% decrease in the number of organizations making cuts. Novartis reported the largest single layoff event, impacting 322 individuals. This sharp decline contrasts with July 2025, which saw a much larger workforce reduction due to Merck's extensive cost-cutting initiative. Overall, the biopharma sector experienced a notable slowdown in job cuts last month.

Amityville site

I am considering a job opportunity at L3harris Amityville, NY. Does anyone know the future outlook of this site and how the work culture over there is? I am seeing there was a building that closed down there this year but what about rest of the buildings? Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thanks
