Need a good job at Cisco?
Forget engineering and join legal. It's dynamic and creative, they are busy but well compensated. Cisco has developed this competency like no other company and this tells you a lot about the direction of the company - extract and protect is the mantra nowadays. Lawyers are not better than engineers, but here at Cisco they can thrive just because that's the game nowadays.
Utilization Review Leaders Lied
The 800 nurses working under the utilization review umbrella were lied to or was it a bait and switch? The nurses were told a new work hour schedule was in the works -the nurses would be notified this week and the new hours would start Monday 8/31/26
Today in an email that was very flip they ignored the fact they LIED and said the schedule would be released next week to start 09/30/26 Humana Values Really — Golden Rule — NO

Simplify The Organization
Has anyone heard about Target simplifying the organization in September?
BYO Lunch for 1 Billion Barrels @ Kearl
How astonishingly cheap has Imperial Oil’s management become that they expect employees to bring their own lunch while celebrating one billion barrels produced at Kearl. Fifty billion dollars in potential revenue, and the big reward is… packing your own sandwich. John Whelan, hope things are comfortable up in the penthouse while everyone else is told to brown‑bag it.
BTC aggressively scheduling early morning meetings
BTC seems to have been told to aggressively schedule early morning meetings. No respect for working hours marked in Outlook.
Let’s talk about JS
Come on! Can we be real here!
Question for leadership
Did Centene ever re-hire the people they fired for not getting the jab like the military did? If so…..NO THANKS, we learned that our life is way better off without working for Centene.
Ametek Layoffs
My company was just purchased by Ametek. What can we expect?
Performance based RSU?
The new 12k grant - Is that just for 2027 with 3 year vesting? It better be every year.

Historically, we see org changes and layoffs in September/October. No one really knows but we are good at reading the signs. Anyone reading anything?
NDR leadership resigns
Director and AVP just left the company for data center start up. Everyone is scrambling.
Massive Layoff's at HQ
So, as of this morning, there was a huge shakeup in Canton. Many people who supported the field and leadership are now gone. It seems like the clowns are now fully in charge of the circus. Not going to drop the names, but take a look around... and this is just weeks after another round was done. This is only the beginning; it's going to get worse.
Great Lakes assets
Does Oxy have any assets on Lake America?
Is severance staying the same?
No reductions expected?
I keep looking back at the last few years
I've watched restructures and personnel decisions systematically remove anyone who was intelligent, trustworthy, or actually cared about employees. The company has spent years making sure there's no one left who can lead effectively. And now we're surprised things are falling apart?
Senior Manage stays in Calgary
I heard that “key” management personnel who interface with the industry in Calgary (i.e. Petroleum Club) will remain in Calgary. I wonder where they will have their office!! 🧐. And, who are these people?? 🥸
Younger workers are cheaper
But they're also less likely to care about the company, sacrifice for it, or stick around. I wish the leadership would realize this.
In Office Dashboard Update
What’s the new one show? The old one showed very minimal data points.
So long Angola….well at least parts of you.
I guess those assets in Angola we are selling off aren’t technically being layed off.
But, probably a good thing to get out from under Chevron while they can.
Who’s next. APAC?
Arrogant Companies Lose More Than Employees
It’s hard not to see the company’s recent actions as deeply disingenuous.
For years, we were told that work-life balance mattered, that employee feedback was valued, and that engagement surveys actually influenced decisions. Today, those messages ring hollow.
Don’t forget what the company has done.
A year from now, there may be apologies like Meta did, polished messaging, and attempts to reframe the cuts and other measures as mistakes that went too far.
The narrative will likely be carefully crafted to sound optimistic and reassuring.
But by then, much of the institutional knowledge and experience may already be gone.
There seems to be an assumption that a younger workforce, combined with AI and fewer experienced employees, can simply replace what was lost.
That’s a dangerous assumption. Younger employees aren’t stupid, and Gen Z and the generations that follow are fully capable of recognizing when a company’s actions don’t match its words.
People remember how they were treated.
When experienced employees continue to leave and younger employees follow them out the door, we’ll see where the company is left.
You can’t erase years of institutional experience and expect everything to function as if nothing happened.
The biggest problem may not be the cuts themselves, it may be the loss of trust.
Once employees stop believing that the company genuinely values them, rebuilding that trust is far harder than any polished corporate message can fix.
Schell Games Faces Workforce Reductions
Video game developer Schell Games has reportedly initiated its first-ever layoffs. Multiple employees shared news of the job cuts on LinkedIn, indicating the reductions began last Friday. The affected departments include marketing, art, design, and visual effects. Reports suggest approximately fourteen individuals have been let go from the studio. These layoffs occur despite the CEO's past public statements against putting jobs at risk.

I'm a bit confused
Are we now officially done with involuntary layoffs for a while? I can't figure out how many people were notified so far and if there are more notifications waiting for some future date.

Uncivilized
Anyone else leave the bank and being subject to non-stop spam from [now-outsourced] talent acquisition regarding the exact same U.S. Bank positions? Four outreach efforts, four different outsourced recruiters, one job posting. I suppose it is difficult to fill positions when nobody wants to join the dumpster. Earth to Gunjan, have some dignity in how you run your bank.
STCB News Please
I know there have already been quite a few posts about STCB, but still I wanted to ask again because I genuinely want to understand what the plan is going forward.
For me, the biggest confusion is whether it makes sense to start looking outside and jump to another company earlier than I had planned, or just stay with STCB, take it a little easy, and see how things settle down. With so much uncertainty, even a little clarity on the future would really help.
